There's a reason more than a dozen courts have looked at Davis' case and refused to overturn his death sentence. He is as innocent as every other executed man since at least 1950, which is to say, guilty as hell
But Davis still refused to call them -- suggesting, as the court said, that their lawyer-drafted affidavits would not have held up under cross-examination. With death penalty opponents so fixated on Davis' race -- he's black -- it ought to be noted that all the above witnesses are themselves African-American. The first man Davis shot in the car that night was African-American.
Only two of the seven alleged "recantations" (out of 34 witnesses) actually recanted anything of value -- and those two affidavits were discounted by the court because Davis refused to allow the affiants to testify at the post-trial evidentiary hearing, even though one was seated right outside the courtroom, waiting to appear. The court specifically warned Davis that his refusal to call his only two genuinely recanting witnesses would make their affidavits worthless.
When a cop yelled at them to stop, the man in the white shirt ran, then wheeled around and shot the cop, walked over to his body and shot him again, smiling. One alleged recantation, from the vagrant's girlfriend (since deceased), wasn't a recantation at all, but rather reiterated all relevant parts of her trial testimony, which included a direct identification of Davis as the shooter.
First of all, the state presented 34 witnesses against Davis -- not nine -- which should give you some idea of how punctilious the media are about their facts in death penalty cases. The story goes like this :two tall, young black men were harassing a vagrant in the Burger King parking lot, one in a yellow shirt and the other in a white Batman shirt. The one in the white shirt used a brown revolver to pistol-whip the vagrant.
What most people have not looked at is the possibility that the killing of the police officer PC McPhail was also carried out by the state. They had their reason why they wanted him eliminated. Then hired a person to do the job, a man; who after acting on behalf of the state went into the police station with is attorney to name a substitue for the killing. That would put Troy Davis to death for a crime he did not committ. This Spencer Lawton is part of the team appointed for state coverup.

Troy's case and that of the WM3 were remarkably similar, total absence of forensic evidence, coercive witness statements later recanted and blamed on poor police interviewing, more likely suspects excluded from serious enquiry... In both cases the police investigation was botched. Death sentences should not ever be applied to convictions based on heresay rather than physical evidence placing them at the scene and tying them to the murder weapon.

All Obama had to do was keep him alive that long. Justice isn't just about the victim (only psychologically), but about other people that could get hurt if people didn't lock up a criminal. I agree with that.. Still, solving problems with criminals (or getting 'justice') by putting them in jail for the rest of their lifes is NOT solving at all. No second chance? You only live once, there must be a better solution to jail. There's a country where criminals rehabilidate, no prison.

When a cop yelled at them to stop, the man in the white shirt ran, then wheeled around and shot the cop, walked over to his body and shot him again, smiling. One alleged recantation, from the vagrant's girlfriend (since deceased), wasn't a recantation at all, but rather reiterated all relevant parts of her trial testimony, which included a direct identification of Davis as the shooter.

What most people have not looked at is the possibility that the killing of the police officer PC McPhail was also carried out by the state. They had their reason why they wanted him eliminated. Then hired a person to do the job, a man; who after acting on behalf of the state went into the police station with is attorney to name a substitue for the killing. That would put Troy Davis to death for a crime he did not committ. This Spencer Lawton is part of the team appointed for state coverup.

the idea that a trained armed officer would work as a dinky $7 per hour security guard in an industry that has no need for security guards, or if they did, it would be a regular security guard, means that McPhail was dealing out of the Burger King.

the law abiding families of victims want the right person tried unless they have something to lose should the truth be revealed in a trial, which is always in very compromising detai.
checking the McPhail's lifestyle to their actual income would be very revealing as to why a victim's family would stand by so many crimes that were necessary in order to execute the wrong person, and be perfectly comfortable with the actual perp running around.

There is plenty of evidence that Davis was guilty, however, the media is leaving out information because they're using Davis as the new baby seal in that they want to out law capital punishment. 1- Sometimes we did a pit that we or our offsprings will fall in: eg by playing criminal role in a movie, which makes people think a black man is a criminal person by nature

Troy's case and that of the WM3 were remarkably similar, total absence of forensic evidence, coercive witness statements later recanted and blamed on poor police interviewing, more likely suspects excluded from serious enquiry... In both cases the police investigation was botched. Death sentences should not ever be applied to convictions based on heresay rather than physical evidence placing them at the scene and tying them to the murder weapon.

Casey Anthony's daughter was found dead, in the woods, on a plastic bag, with chloroform in her system, was reported "missing" MONTHS LATER (by a friend of her) and walk out of it as "not guilty"
I ask myself: If she were a Black or a Latina woman, would she be found "not guilty"? What if she were too poor to pay such lawyers? What if Troy Davis were a WHITE man, or a guy with the enough WEALTH to pay star-lawyers? Then: Is death penalty actually for the guilty or for the poor and marginalized?

If I had been Troy's lawyer, I would have had him confess to be complicit in 9/11, the Sharon Tate murders and being Jack the Ripper if it got him back inside a courthouse. Obama should have had him indicted for a federal crime. If you think that's an abuse of the system, 1) It's the PATRIOT Act, that's what it's for and time it did something positive

Executive powers and states right be damned. He didn't have to get pardoned, he just needed to get his new evidence heard in court, which was repeatedly denied. All Obama had to do was keep him alive that long. He should have charged him with a terrorist office under the PATRIOT act, had someone issue a federal bench warrant, sent US Marshals down to have him moved to a Federal jail and arranged for Jesse and his supporters to hire him a better lawyer.

It makes me laugh that people don't believe witness testimonies aren't enough to convict someone. That is unbelievably asinine. Letting someone like Casey Anthony go free and then killing this guy is sooo unjust, but you cant just look the other way when it comes to the facts against Troy because of his skin colour.

At BEST he's an accomplice to murder, attempted murder (of Michael Cooper), and the beating of a homeless man. At BEST he deserves life in prison instead of execution.
