@fitnessmies u are wrong! those are eleiko metal powerlifting plates, so its 4 red metal
plates 25kg each, 4 blue metal plates 20 kg each after it there are 2 15kg lack bumper plates and then 2 10kg green bumper plates each and bar 20kg = 250kg
@fitnessmies i know what are u talking about. im going to the same gym, we have yellow and black 15kg plates
anyway mvlahovic is not into powerlifting anymore, he switched to mixed martial arts. you can check out his latest bench press around 200kg with 90 or so kilos bodyweight.
on this video he is over 110kg and using bench shirt, so it makes no sense if he's only benching 180kg.
the barbell is 20kg, the reds 25 kg, the blues 20 kg and the greens 10 kg....so it is 140kg not 250 kg....the colors is standard in all the world...eheheh!
Ranicnybejzbol...arent you just the dogs bollacks of tough guys..has anyone read this fools profile.. Hahaha canada & poland the lands of cowards hookers & fags, never was there a man born in eather of these countrys!
You obviusly havent competed in powerlifting ever. Its not cheating. Read the rules. Inform yourself. Dont be a wiseass from the net. Do something with your life.
@Solektras you're an idiot, u dont know anything and u dont bother to go learn, i bet u didnt even notice hes wearing a bench shirt, what does a guy without lifting videos knows about powerlifting??
@muzimuzi I dont need videos to prove anything... I know that wearing a benching shirt improves your stats to an extreme, and legitimately takes pressure off of your rep making it easier. I respect this man's strength and experience, but not his methods. Very similar to steroids, it may not be cheating... But there is no need and it is immorale.
@Solektras dont need videos to show knowledge but always helps to have any when u talk about people lifts (i learnd that the hard way) , i dont encourge geared powerlifting but each to his own choice, this man here has some pretty rare feats like doublebodyweight incline bench and few more that ive yet to see any1 do, as for the roids thats somthing i'm not gonna argue over because im not sure what my opinion is and i know he has been using them but i never bash good vids even if they used roids
@matperry65 This IS competition style. By that he means the arching of the lower back, which is legal in some powerlifting federations (like the mentioned IPF). Of course he does not mean doing just one rep, going totally evenly, stopping at the bottom and the other rules. Of course none of these reps would be legal, but it still gives you a good indication about his ACTUAL (no bench shirt, no back bending, 1 rep, clean form) strength. He can definitely bench twice his body weight totally clean.
@kaschperlgehopse Yes, the form is not OK according to the rules (as I wrote 9 months ago in the post you react to), but he's unbelievably strong for a 109 kg/240 lb guy with a regular shape body (not too short).
Guys, the weight is as follows (you can check his other videos to see the 15 kg black/yellow plates): The bar 20 kg, 4x25 (red), 4x20(blue), 2x15(black/yellow thicker), 2x10(black/green thinner) = 250 kg (+ just simple wire locks, so it's actually OVER 250 kg).
@jakubkrcma, there's not 4 red plates there and not 4 blue plates. 1 at each side = 2 of each. Also there's not 2 black/yellow plates. So it's not near 250 kg at all.
Hi! Watch his "260kg bench press" video and you can CLEARLY see the VERY THIN red and VERY THIN blue plates. The red ones are 25 kg, the blue ones are 20 kg. So this REALLY is 250 kg. If you watch all of his videos, you'll understand that this is simply a beast (for that body shape/weight). Normally, only relatively short or heavy guys lift this much weight. He's EXCEPTIONAL, TOTALLY. He has a "REGULAR" body shape and is STILL stronger than MANY people who LOOK MUCH STRONGER THAN HIM.
It won't hurt your spine, the powerlifting bench style targets your lower chest (the strongest part of your chest), and incorporates more lat into the lift.
idk where all these people come off saying its bad to arch your back powerlifting, youre supposed to in like every lift. your body is naturally stronger when your back is arched and thats a scientific fact
lol i do power-lifting meets pretty regularly, and if you arch your back you dont get disqualified, you jsut cant have your feet butt or chest come off the bench.
Dude, you can arch youre back in all powerlifting events, IPF, WPO, WPC and so on... The thing that isnt allowed is lifting youre but of the bench... :)
I think you can lift more when you arch your back but your muscles have to work harder when you don't, so if you're working out you'd be better off not to but power lifting wouldn't be the same.. That's what I think anyway
That is FAR from a legal competition lift. your ass was everywhere as were your heels. Props on the weight though 250kg is a shit ton of iron to move.
No problem man! This is a powerlifting bar eleiko, as well as most of the plate weights on the bar. See other movies you will know its the correct. Best Regards, Marin Vlahovic
Hate ? me, never!... but I have seen many lifts with the wrong stated weight. It is indeed hard to see from this angle, but if it is 250k then I apologize. Peace.
You're an idiot llantarnamfights - if you know so much about weights why don't you realise that 6 weights at 20kg doesn't equal 120kg because there is also a fucking bar to include. An idiot who is too stupid to know to include the bar knows nothing about weights. Also each weight is not 20kg - they are different colours ffs.
ugh are you serious. You are supposed to arch your back. Your feet should be planted on the ground, butt firmly on the bench and the next anchor point is your shoulders on the bench.
i don't mean to be bitter but from the title, it clearly states that it is "competition style." if you go to any powerlifting competition, that is the proper technique. if you're talking bodybuilding however, then it's a different story and this lifting style would be almost useless. essentially, it all depends on the goal of the individual, whether he be a powerlifter or a bodybuilder.
