  • I like to heat up the chain and then clean with mineral spirits in a squirt bottle and scrub with a rag. Then go for a quick ride to heat the chain again and spray Chain Wax (also my favorite) at various directions onto the chain and then let sit for at least an hour before riding. Have had chains on my R1 last over 10,000 miles and they were not treated gently.

  • WD-40 is just for cleaning because it's kerosene based and it won't harm the O-rings. The proper way to lube a chain is to first get it warm by going on a short ride then clean it with Kerosene. Kerosene gets under the rollers and works the dirt out. Dry it off good and then use that wax...Never....EVER...EVER clean a chain with a wax lube...that's like the biggest no no in our shop for chain maintenance. People that haven't been trained properly shouldn't make opinionated videos..dangerous!!

  • @Greenmarine6 : Seriously? Wow. Using the lube to clean isn't dangerous. And I've been doing exactly that for 20 years.

BTW: I personally can't stand when WD40 is used to clean the chain followed up with a lubing. The WD40 ensures that the lube flings off all over the back of the bike. SO GLAD I do my own maintenance ... your shop would be cleaning my bike for weeks. ... Just like I had to after I used WD40 for cleaning chains.

  • LOL "to make it NOT sound like a commercial, I HAVE tried other products and this is the best"

  • very informative, thanx

  • thanks for the video, before watching this, I didn't have a clue how to lube the chain, I would just spray the lube on the chain and lube the tyres in the process heheh

  • Great videos! They are very helpful.

How about a video to change the spark plug and wires? That would be great too.

  • Thank U from Spain. Great videos!!!!!

  • DO NOT USE WD-40. Its not a degreaser as many people say it is. but It's kerosene based and its not really made for a lube.

  • as you see he moves the cloth around to keep from putting old "slime" on there

  • not an hard job to clean a chain that is already more then clean!! ah man, the gloves next time ;)

  • U really well Maintain Your baby bro... UP for u...........

  • I don't have a Ducati, but I like your product and want to use it for my motorcycle. It has an O ring chain, it should still work great right?

  • exelent video thank you.
