i believe in god and seeing this is scene is just example of love and peace that he gives you and in this world people are just cruel but god is more than just a question of whether he exists because he does exist great men have tried to find the origin of life but maybe god intended to have a balance to make it that its clear he doesnt exist and that he does exist after all his thoughts,ways are higher than ours :)

This scene rips my heart out... Id just returned back to England from working abroad and about 5 hours ago before watching this film Id asked my dad what he really cares about... He said exactly the words from this scene and for some reason I just happened to watch Bruce Almighty later that day and it was like swallowing lava :( My parents got a divorce that day... but they are happy now.

Oh, and God as a "person" has no ego, therefore he has no memories that he can use to define his existence. Sort of like he lives forever and he is "within" everyone but he has continuous amnesia and does not even know who he is at all. So God as a person is actually the most powerless, but at the same time required for us all to exist. When it comes to "who is in charge" - we all are!

Tell me cases where we humans sacrifices ourselves for the good of other animals.

Even firemen wont enter a house full of animals if the risk of dying are to great.

We even kill other animals in hope for securing cures for human diseases.

Devilsnightforlife-I dont feel the need to change your mind. You are free to think whatever you want to. I do feel that if you look for and think about negative stuff you attract that in your life and become it. I would rather look for the good. Type in animal rescue on YouTube and you will see unselfish people looking after animals. I see people donate blood to help strangers, others their time to build homes (Habitat for Humanity), and simple things like holding the door for somebody.

Sure thing, but have you got a record hidden in there with people sacrifising themselves for animals? I know that people help animals, we have luckily developed our brains in such extent that we dont only think about our survival - but not to such extent to take your own life to rescue another specie's.

There is one rule, look at it economically. When it comes to being "good" you must simply improve the total wellbeing of all around you, including yourself. And treat the importance of your individual welfare just the same as the welfare of others. If another person is "bad" then it is ok not to help them as much as someone who is "good" because a "bad" person would be too ignorant to really recognise your love in the first place. Choose growth rather than decay, thats how the world works.
