You'll find that they have what is called the Japanese Self Defence Force- Army, which has around 140,000 regular troops. They also have possibly the largest navy in the Asian region. But of course the Treaty also imposes that the USMC remain on Okinawa island, and as you'd know, there is a USN Carrier Battle Group permanently based at Sasebo, along with a Marine MEU.

How can you say they dont exactly have a strong military, their MSDF is ranked 5th in the world, which is pretty good and is still very concerned about japanese "imperialism" due to their past and they still want to avoid direct conflict, which some a little something to do with us.

Im not 100% sure but is something like US, UK, PRC, RF, Japan or something like that, i just recall US #1 and Japan #5 and im quite certain china would be in there somewhere since theyre about only 15 years development/modernized behind us at the current rate. i definitely agree on their inability to accept when theyre wrong, they still have a memorial that consists of war criminals from WW2
