My computer I got for Christmas has an i3 dual core @3.3GHz, but I did the task manager thing to see the performance tab, and it has 4 of those core things, and your old computer had the same and you said quad, does this mean Argos were lying and I have a quad core?!
@coolcar100 what you have is a 2 core, 4 thread, which splits the 2 cores into 4 so you SOME WHAT have a quad core, but not exactly, what did Argos tell you, you had?

@mclaemer go on apple and max out a MAC, i am sure you will get the same price. these are primo systems with water cooled sub systems. they are the cream of the crop and worth every penny
@MusicLover4EverLzM while this machine is built specifically for gaming, i use it for video editing, so i can not fairly answer that question. its got the Intel980X 6 core and 12 gig of mem, and an invidia 480GTX i think its called? i hope that helps you figure it out

@ImAKillZoneFan in the day that it was purchased, which was a year ago, this was top of the line.at the time this was purchased, the price was considered a deal, with 2 year warranty. that sir is a deal for the warranty alone. now a days you stil wont find a certified alienware computer on ebay thats worth anything regardless of what the description says

@Stormrider1996 i am surprised at the price of a maingear system but i know their reputation, and they are damn good systems, however i think the alienware was cheaper once i customized one of the maingear systems. i would do a side by side pricing comparision of main gear and on the dell/alienware websites. i've had NO problems in my system, and i still love it even after a year, it still runs like a champ.

Actually your other pc wasn't quad core it was actually dual core. The amount of processors is always twice as much than what they call it. So a quad core will have 8 cores or threads instead if 4.

@stvloza Get a PS3. It costs exactly $300. But if you want a computer. Get something like an acer computer or dell computer with at least a 2-core 2.66GHz processor, 4GB RAM, and a GeForce 8800GT or Radeon HD 3870 Video Card. Don't bother with Direct X. A PC with at least these requirements will have better. This should cost $400-$600. The better the video card, the smoother the game will run. MW2 will probably run at 50 FPS. Hope this helped.

@MrDandre95 hey thnks alot!! i would say my ablity to edit increased ten fold when i got the alienware system. i used to edit on a beefed up XPS 630 desktop but it just couldnt hold up to the HD video editing, now editng ai a breeeze with the Alienware system, i definitely want a second system and soon!

@aleveltoolow theres no point in getting the area 51 alx over area 51 imo. Only thing area 51 alx has over area 51 is automatic alienhead door the motherboard supports triple SLI but dell doesnt support triple sli and i know you can overclock the i7 990x to 4.0 gig in area 51 alx and it only is overclocked to 3.73 gig in area 51

@aleveltoolow the area 51alx has 6 gig of the 1866 and area 51 doesnt support that however the area 51 and area 51 alx dell supports up to 12 gig of 1333mhz and 12 gig of 1600 in both systems

only way u can tell if its the area 51 alx is that front door goes back up by pushing the alienhead and haveing area 51 and area 51 alx in black case you cant tell the differnce at all
@WrestlingStyleXtreme 730x is a pretty nice box, but in comparison, i'd spend the extra money for the alienware, i dont have a bad thing to say about it, its an awesome system. keep in mind i use it for editing video and not gaming

Only thing area 51 alx has over area 51 is automatic alienhead door the motherboard supports triple SLI but dell doesnt support triple sli and i know you can overclock the i7 990x to 4.0 gig in area 51 alx and it only is overclocked to 3.73 gig in area 51
