  • Excellant work. I'd have liked to have heard some Foley effects sound track but what the hey ? Like to know which movies/series they'v been in. Also early in the war until about t43 the SS was provided with some of the best rations and logistics of all German Military units as they were considered the elite units.

  • Awesome verry good ***** stars.

  • A little disapointed because I thought it was going to be historical footage but I must say your movie looks pretty damn good! I mean I was fooled for a minute, I acutally thought it was real footage.

  • Use music from Call of Duty: World at War instead, it's much better than Medal of Honor's music.

  • The 12th SS were no joke i heard, i mean fanatical idealists.

These guys would toss there shoes before they gave up.

A lot of people have said they were a crack group, some of the best

  • At least you say Merry Christmas.

    Not the Stalin Happy holidays!

Stalin in 1935 allowed the New Year tree to return or Holiday tree.

No mention of Christmas was to be mentioned. If so to the Gulag!

  • Most of the US re-enacters in SS uniform look too overfed, compared to original SS troops.

The SS training was a lot harder than troops undergo today,on usually much smaller rations!

  • One thing the SS rarely had was the benefit of massive air power and an endless supply of tanks and amunition, unlike the US forces, then and now,(although the Americans do have a tendency to bomb their own side).

The Americans are known for bombing things flat, assuming that it will bring victory, and seem a bit put out when their opponents crawl out from under the rubble, and start picking them off!

What the SS lacked in munitions, they made up with courage and skill.

  • None taken. Have a Merry Christmas!

  • What scene from Cabaret? No disrespect was ever intended toward the US Marine Corps. The only comparison is just to reenact an elite fighting force which in comparison the closest thing the German's had WAS the Waffen SS.

  • Someone has to play the bad guy our favorite hero has to best in every movie. I think its great to see someone putting on the uniform and showing how things really were, despite the war crimes of the Hitlerjugend Division. The technology is accurate, uniforms, and the weapons even. Great attention to detail. Keep up the fine work. Let us never forget.

  • Message to Youtube viewers. I want to thank you for all of your insightful responses to this video. However, the actors in this video are a part of a "Non-Political" reenactment group. This is not the proper forum to discuss political opinions about the Nazi regime or the Jews, blacks, or anyone. I just ask that you please keep your comments to the short film itself as a militarily historical recreation or in regards to the equipment and front line soldiers. I will delete any other comments.

  • Great reenactment. I agree with the comments needing to be about the historical accuracy. It has a "newsreel" feel to it, and I think its great to post this.

  • OH MY GOD!!! the kid gets to fire the outstanding Machinegun -MG42

  • That is maybe because it is the 12th ϟϟ Hitler Jugend

  • Odd way to spend one's free time . . .

  • well the 12th ss what can i say. well they were good soldiers and since i am canadian the 12th fought againt canadian soldiers mostly so they were murders for there treatment of canadian POWs hoever thats war nobody seemd to mind when the canadians used to capture them and lash them to the side of there tanks and rid into battle like it

  • Awesome.

  • as re-enactments go not a bad one.

  • I live in the uSA, I love this nation without question, but it's fair to say the allies/ without the USA entering the war COULD of won. The USA had no effect on the Eastern front/Stalingrad. In North Africa they got their ass whopped and had no impact at El alamien. The battle and Britain germany lost and this was before they entered the war. I am not underestimating how much longer, harder and the impact the USA forces had, nor do not appreciate the sacrifices this great nation made.

  • the allies without the usa coul never have won, do not underestimate the american involvement, the only reason the russians made so many t34's was because of the north atlantic convoys bringing in material from the usa, and the big motor companies in detroit sent delegations to russia to modernise their production into proper manufacturing lines ! monty won alamein with overwhelming material advantage,,, material from the usa ! tanks and artillery.

  • 12.SS was a good unit

  • This is embarrassing. Seriously.

  • Really? Why?

  • Its truly awesome how your group keeps history alive :) I re-anect aswell, 82nd Airborne and British para-recon. Keep up the good work! Maybe see you around somewhere in an event.

  • Have any of you read the brilliant book "The Germans in Normandy" by British author Richard Hargreaves? Sold by Amazon.

You instantly understand that the Germans in the West was defeated by Allied air supremacy. Not by American GI-superheroes we see in Hollywood movies.

Every soldier quoted by Hargreaves - from generals to Landsers (the German equivalent of Tommies) - lived in fear of the constant air attacks.

  • I understand your line of thinking, however, no one that has mattered ever claimed the American GI Was a super hero. The American GI was however, resourceful, courageous, tenacious and brave.

  • Yes, the arsenal of democracy was a HUGE deciding factor in victory in 1945, but please do not under estimate the gains and victories made by the American Armed Forces in the ETO. The Waffen SS and Wermacht was no doubt one of the most amazing fighting forces ever created.

  • But the Americans didn't do too bad once they worked the bugs out. Bunkers, pillboxes and fighting positions need to be cleared out by the common foot soldier, and the American GI didn't fare too bad. Just my thoughts

  • I do understand what you are saying, however, no one that matters has ever claimed that the American GI was a super hero. The American GI was however, brave, resourceful, tenacious and courageous. The war could not have been won unless the American fighting man was who he was.

  • a german vet i talked to here some time ago, who was on the eastern front for some time before being transfered west, told me that it was actually far more frightening on the western front do to the complete domination of the skys by the western allies. its hard to believe that given all the horror storys of the east... all those t34s... but it kind of makes sense at the same time. theres just nothing you can do as a landser against overwhelming airpower

  • the war was lost due to the fact that Hitler took command of the military and should have remanded a politician were he was most brilliant. Hitlers failures include not using tank divisions on D DAY, Stalingrad, Kursk, Bastong ... the key battles were lost due to Hitlers lack of military command skill.

  • TRUE !!!! 14

  • Only air supremacy? lol. Read a history book

  • @THordasson Yeah we still had the largest amount of troops fighting on the west and we were the largest contributor to the Pacific Theater

  • @THordasson ..,hey dumbfuck the USAAF at the time was part of the army - United States Army Airforce 'USAAF' was the precursor of the USAF. Was formed as a separate branch of the military on Sept 18, 1947. Those jabos didn't attack the the poor landsers in Normandy without the doctrine of close air support developed by Gen. Pete Quesada and the Ninth Tactical Air Command and the ground forces. pls gtfoh assclown.

  • karlschlaussen

Excellent work. Extremely accurate. Thanks for posting it.

  • I just was with you guys in Mn for d day reenactment. I was a cong in the Vietnam reenactment.

  • You hate all Germans? Are you aware not every German in WW2 was a Nazi?

  • Yes their army was forced to be in the war by the nazi party. Many were threatened to join or horrible things could happen to family and friends.

  • Easy there tiger. It is strictly a recreation for a short film. The PNWHG Does not condone, support or tolerate NEO-NAZI activities of ANY KIND! We are a non-political historical group who creates World War 2 Reenactments and work in film as hired extras.

  • good re-enactment group navajo, some of these people should forget the nazi thing and look at it now as a period of history, as nearly all re-enactors do. or maybe the german haters should go back a bit on their calendars and hate the french for napoleon, and every other period of tyrannical dictatorship or empire building leaders and political parties..

  • Thank you for your message! Very good point.

  • it just goes to show that the wounds of ww2 are still open. the SS symbol stood for hatred and death. the 12th ss in particular were full of boys who grew up brainwashed that they were the master race. maybe it would be better to re-enact a US Marine division, drop the ss and pick up the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor

  • The key word here is, they were brainwashed. Sadly, It has happened so many times in history. Yes, the wounds run very deep. I know I personally will never forgive the Nazi regime for the crimes committed against humanity. This not only includes Jews, Gypsies and anyone else they saw fit to exterminate, but their own people. Several of us reenact every branch of the US Armed Forces as I hung up SS uniform long ago. As said in the prior comments, someone had to play the bad guys.

  • Not to defend here, but my friends grandfather in the Nazi army.

You would be surprised how many soldiers couldn't care less about Hitler.

All they knew is that they were defending Germany. Most were not even told about the global takeover.

They wanted to go home just like anybody else

  • i think you hate the nazi.but thats not.your friends in crime

  • schönes Video, doch leider war die SS eine politische Streitkraft, keine Helden nur politisch motivierte Nichtsnutze

    Trotzdem Respect , nice Video

P.S. Make Ash or slam in the faces plz, no german fight with clear wite faces

  • Danke, However, the Waffen SS troops in combat did not always have their faces blacked out. Look at the pictures and you will see.

  • totally agree with you navajo. there is no need for camo faces in a fast moving armoured unit..

  • Angreifen!!!!

  • very nice camera, looks nearly exacly like the camer the Kiregsberichters had. But stll, the moving of the camera is to fast, it makes it unrealistic. Also, migthy? Not really since it nearly was totaly destroyed in battles against the canadians in july-aug1944. Also most of the men were about 17-20 years old so not experienced, they had 2 months training, a American airborne in normandy had 2 years training.

  • canada the streets yo. Our battle experience is everyday on our streets since born

  • Where is this music from? Sounds so familiar.

  • I don't know actually

  • Das SS. Shikelgruber's Scheiss.

    hahahahahahahahahaha.

    Cowardly bastards.

  • medal of honor!

  • Medal of Honor

  • imagine 17/18 years old men in the tiger tanks..

  • Very unlikely tho because they selected only the finest crew to drive tigers.

Well, that's how it went during the real war..

  • teens made up infantry only, panzer crews were veterans from other units put together to complement the formation of 12th ss division

  • incorrect ! commanders were veterans where they were available, and i am talking section commanders not tank commanders. there are numerous historical records that show that some tank commanders were repremanded for painting their girlfriends names on the turrets of their tanks,,, most were late teens !!

  • The 12th SS Panzer (Hitleryouth)had a grudge fight with the Canadians in Normandy. The Divisions Panzer Regt was slightly more distinctive as they were issued with U-boat clothing.

  • man why is this division getting more attention (than 1.SS)

  • pnwhg>>>>>PWNED in GERMAN!!

  • Sehr nett! Greif an!

  • i was a part of the heer unit he was in, a-gunner for the mg42 and i also am really tempted to rejoin re-enacting by just watching this!

  • Agreed, I am counting the months until I can move back to BC and start reenacting again. 2010 will be the year. I will always remember Tyler as the single best memory of my first few events. RIP kamerad.

  • This is a great piece, I will always remember Tyler's smile, and how he made new recruits feel at home within the unit. Many new him alot better than I, but he will always be a comrad to me. Its films like this one (thanks Tyler) that has made me relize a need to re-join the unit which is now reflagged as the 2nd SS Das Reich.
