I don't say "Merry Christmas" to anyone because I don't feel like that statement accurately represents my position. I have freedom of speech and I don't care to utter religious sentimentalities. Making such appeals to my oratory will make December 25 quite the opposite of "merry". Christians are the people out there who make these ridiculous appeals for respect. I tolerate religion, but I don't respect it. Faith is a vice I refuse to celebrate.
I'm Christian and I don't celebrate christmas because it's pagan God forbids it. Now, like Chris said, instead of using christmas for one day to love people and showing them kindness, it should be every day And you know, that's one thing that lacks and why people are turned off from Jesus it's because there's no Love =[ Jesus is nothing BUT love, so if you run into someone that calls themselves a Christian and lacks love and is cruel, they're a liar. Doesn't mean a lot of us don't try to love.
At least you know the origins of Christmas. Many christians that I talk to have never read about or done their homework. This may sound ironic, but I am an atheist, and I hear some christians say that I act more christlike than some christians that they know.
Yeha I mean, The bible says "Many will come to me saying 'Lord Lord! We prophesied in your name name, we cast out devils in your name, and healed the sick in your name' but I will say ' you workers of iniquity, I never knew you. Go away."
So that goes along with what you're saying. It breaks my heart because Christians don't realize that if you're not serving Christ with your actions as well as your mouth, you've denied Him. Ugh. This really makes me sad.
I personally don't take issue with the phrase. I just have a problem when people thing that it's a 'war on christmas' when, like I mentioned in the video - people who think everyone has to say it.
There are more holidays around that time than just Christmas - and some of the more fundie types need to realize that.

One of the main things that I dislike about Christmas is these narrow minded ignorant Jesus freaks!
