Ace can't really come back because had an alcohol problem that effected his playing. In addition to that, KISS couldn't be sure that Ace would actually show at the gig in time to put on his make-up and be ready for the show. So that being the case, they had to get someone who would stay sober, be on time and remember the parts to play. Ace was in the band for many years and did extremely well but the demons inside of him began to control him more than he could control his demons. It's sad, huh?

Just because Ace wrote something in a book doesn't make it true. If Gene cut out Ace's daughter, Monique, perhaps that footage just didn't the film. Both she and Ace shouldn't have and didn't have to make it so personal. If Ace quite the band, then great. KISS doesn't need a lead guitarist who is late to the gigs on time, has a drinking or a drug problem and wants to do his own solo career. For all you idiots bitching about this, please consider: 1. Ace had essentially been out of KISS for 13 years; 2. KISS hadn't played Shock Me since 1977-78; and 3. This was done at one of the KISS Conventions in 1995, where KISS took requests and tried to play almost anything that was asked.  Many songs were rehearsed, but not the entire catalog. They knew they could bring Eric back, slap Peter's makeup on his face for less money and the idiot peon masses would be none the wiser.

the thing about Peter was he was an R and B drummer posing as a rock n roll drummer, Carr and Singer were rock n roll drummers. I doubt that kiss has sold more albums than AC/DC...Kiss makes its money on merchandise (dolls and pix and c rap) and from touring....they never sold a ton of albums because they rarely got radio airplay....and you can adapt without changing your style, which is what they did...they looked ridiculous...even they admit it.

The reason I started liking Kiss was the first time I heard Dr Love in 1978...the drum riff intro was killer....they lost their originality when ace and peter left...
