  • @Brian: Waves of energy had to curve during the first moments of the Big Bang, because the universe was still very small. The energy rolled itself up to become matter in this new universe. The original energy came from the centre of a gigantic black hole that spinned and formed an empty hole in the centre of the black hole, due to centrifugal forces. This way, matter escaped the high pressure in the form of pure energy. Our universe exists inside a big black hole.

    What you think about this?

  • Religion is for people who can't deal with knowing the unknown.

  • Likes to do the science!

  • *looks at comments* Welcome back, Ignorance! Back so soon?

  • Top comment spent most of his time learning physics than learning how to spell words that a 6 year olds can what kind of world do we live in

  • go to cracked.com look up the 5 scientific experiments most likely to end the world

  • Every time a technological advance like this is discussed, heralding yet another step in trying to understand the Universe, -up pop the religious nutters, to explain it all, no god has ever proven to exist, so what argument do they have?

  • @iaingbrennan Go subscribe to "the atheist experience" podcast, some of the crap theists come out with while trying to prove their gods existence is hilarious.

  • Its amazing when reading the comments of the ignorant who deny science. Just because some people cannot comprehend science they think others like Brian Cox cannot. Science is more than just opinion or religious belief, it is fact. The only truth is scientific truth.

  • Both of you stop bitching the creation of the Big Bang Machine will no doubt usher in a new era in space and the understanding of space travel, do you know what this will mean once a greater understanding is achieved , the black hole, the folding of space, controlling dark matter, come you cannot tell me you can't wait to see the what this will bring?

    C A Forbes Leeds England

  • @Standard999999 yes, lets go and attack the muslims and jews, because worshiping a god is so much more intelligent.

  • @jackmarsilva gods calculations? haha they don't know for sure there was a big bang, thats why its called 'the big bang theory' but science has put forward this theory based on research, scientific answers and above all, common sense. if a ball is rolling one the ground, then something must have happend to set the ball in motion! all material in the univers is expanding, all objects are moving away from each other. if we look back far enough, we can see the occurence that set the ball in motion!

  • @Standard999999 lol keep sucking jesus's cock fucking cunt

  • SandustanBrasov

Through relativity theory of Einstein of over one century, it hold with strength - as a conspiracy a general activity of intellectual stultify of the planetary population. From relativity theory proceed the notion of: singularity, big bang, black holes and holes of worm. From 1905 and till now 2011, disciples of to Einstein, preach with contumely, as scientific elements of high class these theoretical confusions, these absurdities from which they had made a business.

  • always had the idea that maybe if they do create a small universe or little big bang with CERN's LHC then that could be reason for our existance in this universe. maybe we're the ones being observed right now in the most splitist second from scientists in another universe that created ours in a blink of an eye.

  • dome people think again God Greated did you see no one can do it

  • dome people think again

  • It's kind of weird to have a universe inside a universe. Lol

  • I think this is lessfull machine for create new universe.

Better they use technology and money to create land, water, air before they create Big Bang.

But,thank you for a great sharing video.

  • I think this is lessfull machine for create new universe.

Better they use technology and money to create land, water, air before they create Big Bang.

  • Your video is great. Thank you for your sharing.

  • Lol too bad christianfags the Mini big bang has happened.

  • Too bad that it will never work, trying to recreate the big bang by colliding 2 protons or 2 lead nuclei together is the macrocosmic equivalent of colliding 2 planets together, all that your are gona see is a tiny crash. To recreate the big bang you have to find the smallest particles and collide them, which is impossible since the universe is infinite, you cut an atom in half you get 2 smaller atoms, cut them again you get even smaller 4 atoms. What a huge waste of money....

  • @Christopher1987uk That's not how it works.lol

  • hey this guy brian cox wrote a book i read called Why does E=mc² :P

  • I knew one day science might be the one to kill us. That Collider thing is going to be the death of us.

  • @WickedDragon86 Chill your nips bro.

  • @WickedDragon86 impossible.

  • @WickedDragon86 No, no... ignorance is going to be the one that kills us, not this kind of science... Read, learn, then express your views...

  • good to see my fucking TAX dollars at work, fuck euro big bang horse shit, I think we should hang child rapists at the end of the collision. . . awesome

  • it takes about 3 years ?... to see the result

  • whats the status of this at the mo? have the got it up and running?

    Has it got any samples??

  • its like resident evil underground they will be zombies then come on the surface

  • I love Science but i disagree with 1 part... and that is the big band... i dont think it happend but could have because god could have done it.

  • I believe, no proof: That the expansion of the early Universe, (a massive energy field to Dark Mass), is still expanding, (Hubble), this creates a Dark Drag that pulls the other Galaxies/stars away from each other.

  • They should be learning how to accelerate a space ship in space to 99.99999 % of speed of light instead of putting our species to extinction...

  • @gytiw79 We currently know very little about physics as a species. There are gaps all over our knowledge. Can you not see how experiments like this will lead us greater understanding of everything and take us further? When electricity was discovered it was people wasting time messing about with chemicals, and within 80 years we had the electric light-bulb. With an experiment like this, just imagine the things we might discover.

  • please notice me if you do a small little sweet bang with this huge project.

arent they knitting king's cloth with golden fibers?

but Kings ass is NUDE :P

  • i should have studied in school. these guys have dream jobs.

  • ppl trying to understand HOW.and this is the duty of human.answering questions.

but you know people cannot make a living cell from scratch (from elements only).

maybe can.but cannot give a life.

  • BIG BANG > STARS FORM > PLANETS FORM > LIFE STARTS > LIFE GAINS INTELLIGENTS > LIFE BUILDS LHC > BIG BANG > STARS FORM > PLANETS FORM > LIFE STARTS > LIFE GAINS INTELLIGENTS > LIFE BUILDS LHC > BIG BANG ( and so on....)

  • It bothers me that people who seem to be the smartest people can't see the obvious - they think taking a step towards infinity brings you closer to its end - very scary if these are our greatest minds

  • I hope another life form comes out of this experiment and starts attacking everything!

  • not banged yet ?

    : D

  • too comical.

    did they made bingbang ?

    where is it now ?

Its something like building matter while everything in matter : D

    God can.You cant.

first of all you must have to make a living cell from elements.

    you now.You cant : D

This huge building is just for leeching money from governtments. : D

  • @halukcetiner You clearly dont even understand what the LHC is meant to do. It's God fearing people like you who stunt the growth of human knowledge.

  • @ZionzSavior

We dont have fair.we totally fall in love for him ;)

also this kind of projects is useful to KNOW HOW.

its something like making water wet :D

  • its good to research, but speanding sooo much money in a theory has no solid ground rather than solving problems in hole world, helping poors, stoping war , stoping kiling inocent in the name of terrorizom, bringing peace.

  • twits grow up

  • the thing is, this experiment might really create an other micro sub universe with real species and life in a super tiny micro level, and also , our universe might be also the result of an experiment like that done by some other species who r wondering about their origins .

    Please reply with opinions,

  • just a question! why does it had to be so big?

  • frack i hate this nerd linger surely they could of got someone that wasnt a complete human joke! What a looser he obviously never heard of a gym!

  • @CONSTRINGACY Brian Cox is a good man and knows a lot about science. You're a cunt.

  • @pervsgrundy Thats a complement comming from a sub human like youXD

  • @CONSTRINGACY Just wondering why you would criticize someone who is clearly more literate than you, and certainly doing more for humanity than you are. But I guess it's perfectly okay for you to display your gross insecurities in your comments and share them with everyone. So please, continue doing that if it makes you feel good about yourself.

  • Great comments. Good to see people are not as dumb as I first thought.

  • @Bizziboy check the comment just above you.

  • @ocean514 Humm, perhaps I spoke to soon.

    :(

  • Scientists gave us electricity, motors, computers. You stup1d religion fanatics dont use that all? Why you spam sciens videos with your trash? Rather go to church and pray for all the peaople religius fanatics killed in last few thousends years and let reasonable ppl watch and learn fyzics.

  • Question... Ed Witten and Leonard Susskind have said that with String Thoery, the strings vibrations are what give particles/matter its principles ie:mass. If this is the case then their cannot be a higgs field or higgs boson. I've got to be missing something here, any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • terrorist will play the thanks for building !

  • I've written a song dedicated to Professor Brian Cox. You can find it on my channel or search "song for professor brian cox" and find my name Jules Mann. If you're free please check it out and leave a comment.

  • what i find sad is that the ''god-believers'' (who think that some dude in the cloud created the earth in 6 days) never attempt to prove their claim. instead they just rip on atheists and scientists all the time. we scientists are the most humble people on the planet. we honestly and openly admit that ''we DO NOT know' . and thats the reason for these kind of experiments to see if we can possibly find evidence and not just ''talking'' about it....

  • i agree

  • i am so glad this came through despite all the complaints and everything, and i am very excited about the newest discovery, i'd love to know more as soon as i can =)

  • Notice scientists and the most brilliant minds of our time are largely NOT worried about destroying the world but the uneducated, the masses, are.

Chill, people. This thing won't destroy us. Or it will, and it'll happen so fast you won't know what happened. Either way you're fine.

  • @jonhartwig We won't. It's an impossibilty.

  • Before big bang was God

And the God created the Universe and everything

    Why ?

Because the action, when the God compresses all Universe

into his palm, physicists have named " a singular point "

And action, when the God opens his palm,

physicists have named the " Big Bang "

    Israel Sadovnik Socratus

  • Guys, I honestly think this is good shit. I mean if we dont die by this then its gonna be nukes or space dudes. Think about it. Being compressed into nothing? Better than dieing of disease, nukes, guns, and/or interplanetary war. I'd like to lose my body in a black hole which is way more dignified than getting blasted away or coughing my lungs out.

  • do you think that one of the results of this experiment could be all the earthquakes that have been happening lately?

  • Not unless you were fucking retarded. I believe that's called Plate Techtonics?(sp.)

  • thats pretty dam fast

  • "reveal that underlying history" and destroy our planet... fear this, hey know not what they are doing (I'm not going to pretend that I do either) but frankly, it scares the hell out of me...seems like playing "God"

  • By the looks of your videos you may be scared of way to many things lol. Its just science man, and what they are creating is rather quite simple in comparison to nuclear warheads, stealth bombers, and war.

  • Whenever I see Brian I feel envious. The man is 41 years old and radiates more youthful vibrance than any 20 year old has any right to. He's so very *alive*. I wish I could muster even half his enthusiasm.

  • The armed forces are the pride and joy of the nation that employs them; not to mention that they secure the borders, protect trade, and keep it's lovely citizens under wraps. A law is only useful if it has the punishment and full furry of that nation to back it up. An army is one of the rights of a country's citizens, so it's citizens don't have to organize and regulate an army themselves.

As for giving a poor nation funding; we must prioritize funding of our own people before others.

  • ALL FOR PHYSICS!!!!!! <3

  • AWSOME! Lets build a multi-billion dollar machine while the world is falling apart due to immoral behavior and stupidity! How can we justify a machine that cost as much as being able to feed an entire African country and ((might)) show us how the universe was created? How does this help us when war breaks out due to insufficient food supply, disease engulfs the Earth through tainted meats and vegetables, and nuclear war is caused by irrational hatred for ones race or background.

  • Yeah....but what if they found warp speed?

  • @nthanielacting - This machine is absolutely useless, that's for sure. They CLAIM they will get new results in some years, but even if they succeed, these results will be so small and unimportant - makes me puke...

  • actually we can rich nation can still feed the poor at the same time built this machine. All America and its allies has to do is stop spending in wars and instead use that Money in helping poor nations. what do u think?

2 aircraft carriers i guess are more expensive than LHC right? well America has more than 2 :-)

  • care for the human race more then you your stupid though

  • Ahem, hate to burst your bubble but as the LHC was funded by 85 different countries, it actually works out at about £2 per tax-payer PA.

I'm pretty sure there's enough in our collective pockets for BOTH causes. It's just that the practicalities of solving world hunger are far more troublesome than building a machine, and as for irrational hatred; money is NOT the solution there.

  • @TornLoveNotes shit i could've bought a packet of haribo for that much.

  • @EdIsSuperman Darn, didn't think of that.

Fucck the LHC, I want Starmix :P

  • @TornLoveNotes Agreed, this was a MONUMENTAL waste, though spending money to end hunger would never last, they'd make more babies and make a bigger problem. The solution to all of this is both religious and scientific. Anyway I've made a few videos disproving the big bang.

  • @mikefromspace i doubt that

  • @RiseOfThePro Many others; fractalfield. co m , Nassim Haramein, we are all discovering how to explain unification without a big bang slowly but surely. The proof is already there, whether you doubt it or not our physics wins, photons , well...they suck. That alone disproves their existence already

  • @mikefromspace i apologize mate, i mistook your comment as anti-scientific.

  • @RiseOfThePro Oh I gotcha. Well I thought it was neat to watch the opening ceremony of the first collisions, no doubt that was great fun. Just wish I could have been involved in some way, there is a far cheaper method I know of that would acellerate particles if they think they'd have to.

  • Yes, it's always the same in English popular science programmes: instead of show what the programme is about, they show FACES, FACES, FACES for the entire screen, and not the DAMN THING they are talking about. Where was the collider in that show? I only saw talking heads.

  • annoying isn't it, they always seem to be trying to say as little as possible

  • Hate English science shows: I want to see THE COLLIDER, not that guy's stupid smiley face! Damn!

  • @SpaceConscience : There are plenty of pictures of THE COLLIDER on the Internet. Google for them if you feel like doing the tourist thing of snapping photos every which way and generally rubber-necking at large structures. Professor Cox and the others are explaining the *Why* and "How" of the LHC. Without that, we may as well have just built a mock-up of a real accelerator. Don't confuse the hardware with the Science. It would be far preferable for the hardware to fit on a table top.

  • they feed the accelerated protons wiht tons andtons of electrons (pushing protons theycantgetfaster butheavier)

andthen when teh protons popp tehy get tons of junk ofwhat ELECTRONS CONSIST of mostly and TONS OF DOUBLE RESULTS

thestandardmodel describes an electron overfed proton wiht double antriple quarks whenimright whileits brackets of cumualted photoncumulations

thatexplains also whythe bits dontexist longeven

  • BAD MOVE

  • I don't like Brian Cox's shows. He acts like he doesn't know anything about physics but makes these shows anyways. The shows would be better with someone like Michio Kaku who acts like you can trust him.

  • i dont want to b offensive to any religons but they no how the universe was made and how we evolved yet people still think that god or and other god did this. i just dont understand it. i dnt want to b offensive.

  • Actually rachelroxz1, 'they' don't. No one knows how the Universe was made. We know most of what has happened since, but not how or why it happened int he first place. Nor is the theory of evolution by any means perfect.

When you criticise religion, it's always best to make sure you have your facts straight, otherwise you make the rest of us atheists look bad. :)

  • i dident mean to offend any religon. sorry. and ill get my facts right next time. i have re thought it all also. sorry again

  • have u guys seen the movie angels and demons???

they used that thing in there

  • holy crap, I didn't know there are still people that don't believe in the big bang because of religious reasons. I've been in college too long, I'd completely forgotten about the whole anti-intellectual attitudes of religous extremists

  • I'm a non-religious extremist and I don't believe in the big bang theory because no one has explained to me how that super-dense spot appeared. Also, where was it? Anyway, I think the scientists at CERN are the most dangerous people in the world because they're playing with the elementary particles of existence, and that can't be good. I don't care what kind of degrees they have, they're human, human beings are not infallible. And there's this thing called hubris, which can blind your judgement.

  • Hi there can I introduce you to Something Pretty amazing Friend

  • can you actually produce ANY physical evidence of your implications here?

  • How much evidence is required for you to be convinced of these implications ?

  • ANY evidence that I can examine and cannot be physically or logically falcified and can be confirmed by ANYBODY else who examines that evidence. ANYTHING AT ALL that qualifies as tangible evidence.

  • Please can you give me an evolutionary process or a Mutative process where the information in the DNA Molecule can be increased -- without the interference of Intelligence ? in the Question it's self, is an example of Physical Evidence. I suppose that isn't enough though :)

  • First, answering a question by asking a question is weak attempt to get out of giving me an answer.

Second, evolution IS THE PROCESS of altering the information in a DNA molecule (sometimes resulting in an increase of information) without the intervention of an intelegence. Mutations occur randomly durring DNA/RNA replication all the time, and those processes have nothing to do with any inteligence. Mutations also occur when the occasional cosmic ray strikes a DNA molecule damaging it...

  • this also is devoid of inteligent interference.

You make my own point for me.

  • So where did the Information come from in the First place ? What gave it it's structure and Information? Please Elaborate.

  • i moved to your channel

  • Yeah sure, Down syndrome is the mutation of a 47th chromosome as opposed to the normal 46.

  • He looks like Cillian Murphy

  • In January 1933, the Belgian mathematician and Catholic priest Georges Lemaitre traveled with Albert Einstein to California for a series of seminars. After the Belgian detailed his Big Bang theory, Einstein stood up applauded, and said, This is the most beautiful and satisfactory explanation of creation to which I have ever listened.

  • physics is not concerned with religion or whether or not there is a god. physicists just want to understand things like the universe as much as possible, and with as much detail as possible. how does physics support the existance of god? i would say physics simply supports our understanding of how certain things work.

  • I'm more interested in relativity of time, if there is a way for me to go deep into meditation and wake up after 50 yrs while feeling I went for just 5 mins, that's what universe is all about. Its actually real, if you go to sleep without seeing clock, you don't really feel the time is passing on.Your concious is asleep.

  • What has the LHC got to do with God you morons?

  • @davealton999 it will dis prove god if this works it will mean that there is no god

  • @mailbail100 Actually it would just prove that the big bang theory is correct. It wouldn't disprove god. There is nothing to prove in that direction anyway...Plus even if they did...well not to be rude..jesus freaks wouldn't take no for an answer anyway. You can't prove or disprove something when there isn't anything there...

  • @davealton999 ...derp

  • Scientist dont try to play god...they try to learn, to explain, to ask questions, to make new things that maybe you dont understand, like the internet, so you can make your bad joke and after you pray to the lord giving him thanks you will turn down the light, or turn on the AC, see some TV, take some medicine for the flu, you can sleep well, nothing about science, dont worry they will worry about your jokster life

  • actually they turned this thing back on... they're giving it another try but this still doesn't prove there is not god

  • if u study enough and see the realness you will realise that religion is one of the first forms of governing the populas... they used fear based systems to make people behave in a certain manner.. there is zero openess in religion its all governed by restrictions.. anyone u pick will always restrict your being in a certain way.. when really if infinity exist there is no restriction, only possibilty and well anyone can do anything then cant they if they believe

  • i think we shouldn't be arguing about religion here.. its simple. People believe or they don't believe..

i just hope we are going to live in a world without religion.. LHC for the win!

  • Physics is a carreer that you cant expect money in your bank account. I don't want spending my life begging for food and "driving" old busted cars.

  • physics also isnt the way it was in the 20's and 30's, its fairly easy to get a decent playing job in physics if you know what your doing.... it is the age of science and all....

  • ???

that comment makes no sense what so ever... explain it a little bit more if you want to :)

  • AHH satan will come out of a worm hole BLA BLA BLA hahaha people don't even know that they have been doing this same experiment since the 30's no magical Jesus worm hole yet!

  • If you see what forces the universe brings forth...

I am quite... startled by the thoughts of what they are trying to recreate.

I am not saying I find this experiment wrong or repulsive.

I actually find this really fascinating.

But what if it goes wrong...

I guess that is a question thousands of scientists have already gone over.

Anyhow, I can't influence this, so I just sit and watch I guess.

p.s. Good luck to the scientists!

  • Yes, too bad most of us can't take places there, in LHC and winess what's happening personally. We just have to watch and applaud these peoples work. They are the "elite breed" among us, and it's always the elite that hauls the rest forward with the thing called progress. And if there's one thing synonymous to progress - it's LHC.

  • i'll never understand these ignorant fears people have. i love science with a passion, but religoin is also a part of my life...and the only reason it seems people are afraid of this ting is because of ignorance and pop culture and movies about black holes. obviously, the people at CERN have considered all the relevant factors and consequences (even the retarded ones that lay people who take sci fi movies seriously think of)...

  • Im all for science but i have a bad feeling about this machine..

  • they already used it ... :)

  • They did low energy tests at a fraction of full power. and found a problem. Someone didn't Tighten some bolts on one of the Bus couplings between two magnets. 12,000 Amps running through a Bad connection = An expensive heater.. So the spot in the ring where that happened Melted down.. They have to evacuate the coolant, let the parts warm up, Replace the broken parts, Check alot of the connections on teh ring again put it together, cool it again Then restart tests. Time consuming isn't it.

  • religion will annihilate with society one day . . the way that antimatter annihilates with matter

  • "If your eyes can see it - you can't deny it"

    is stronger than

"pray to the invisible lord who loves you, wants your money and will punish you if you don't do things his way" (nonsense to begin with...)

The fact is, that religion fares rather poorly where there is highly developed economy and science. People who try to alter their (and sometimes others') lives have no time for bullshit like religion.

I prefer to UNDERSTAND than BELIEVE IN something and cheers to all who share my point of view.

  • I so want to work there!

  • isn't it broken now?...ooops! need another cathedral sized electro-magnet....that'll be £25,000,000 plz!...oh by the way, can we get our money back if u vaporize the universe by accident?...does the warranty cover that? ;)

lets hope they get some results sooner or later, its a serously expensive piece of kit....find that Higgs/Bosun particle Coxy! :D

  • i actually don't care what will happend... if everyoune dies,so will I,so who cares. go ahead, guys, try the LHC,it seams cool

  • theyre not messing with nature...?

  • Why are so so fucking ignorant?

  • "Considerate la vostra semenza:

fatti non foste a viver come bruti,

ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza."

Consider your origin; you were not born to live like brutes, but to follow virtue and knowledge.

Dante Alighieri, [Divine Comedy, Hell -Canto XXVI, lines 118-120]

You're absolutely free to live your life in ignorance.

  • You should quit messing around with nature and turn off your computer screen.

I could agree with your "messing with nature" idea if you were talking about the testing of nuclear weapons in the ocean, or the genetic engineering of a plant so they could put more herbicide on it, but what's wrong with this experiment?
