I still can't get the song out of my head whenever I hear either the name Katinka or the word 'kroket' (which sound like 'koket' even though it's a kind of fast food), so the song in itself is certainly good enough.
Good song, but the performance is only so-so. Those movements and looks are just a little bit too artificial, and the lyrics are a bit too childish for two men in their forties. Also, the left one is better at keeping up a fake smile than the right one (for the viewer) but neither smile actually looks real.
@etierik The performance was very typical in those days ... the 60s ... you kinda had to "be presented" is a certain way for television viewers that is why we look at it today and it seems to artificial. The songs if fun but I agree it's too childish but once again this is the 60s in those days uptempo songs were somehow very much like this.
The information here is wrong: The blackouts during this song are in deed due to a technical problem in the Netherlands - or on their recording (the picture quality is quite poor, but the sound is excellent). I have a recording of this Contest from French TV, and there are no blackouts at all during the Dutch entry.
@derekjtaylor There were, apparently, two power failures during the contest! I bet there was someone running about round the back trying to put francs into the meter.
One of the most memorable Dutch Eurovision entries. And I think the screen going black really costed those poor guys some points. As you said, the country that deserved the nil points less in 1962. I'm actually not so much in Eurovision's from the early '60's, but 1962 was IMO the first 'strong' year for the Eurovision, with France, Germany, Sweden and than the Netherlands as my biggest favourites.

Fun song, did not deserve 0 points. By the way, did someone in Luxembourg forget to pay the electric bill?

@derekjtaylor xD an error in the connection between The Netherlands and Luxembourg made the Dutch viewers see their contestants in negative!
