@3runningpro123 Are you serious? The battle theme has to go at least. Though I am unsure if they are able to make a better one. It was tolerable for a few dozen battles, not the hundreds I went through.
Or at the very least we must have the option to disable battle music. Better yet, just keep playing the area background music during battles.
@PrimarchZup Zanarkand was the best place to train for that exact reason, A Dream That Will Someday End carried on through the battles xD Although saying that, I quite like the battle music :)
@Matthew1080p It really is a pity that almost no game nowadasy can compete or even come close to these games. The center lies on those games which are bought by the mass and with which can be made the most money...It's sad but the simple truth, but there are still some good games out there even today. Would be horrible if there wasn't! =)
@Matthew1080p I was kind of happy that they continued this game so they could get together again but for me the story really ended here. It's so epic and sad which is the main point of the ending: that they could NOT stay together. It makes the difference between this game and others. It's not a complete happy ending but a realistic and much more emotional one! Just heartbreaking!

Many people hate FF X-2 (and for good reasons...it is a not-so-good game and the start of the decay of FF) but I was so happy to be able to see a good ending after the sad ending of the X...it's jus games...but I was much happy for Yuna and Tidus... ^ ^ We don't have anymore games like FF from VI to X...
and to think how far final fantasy dropped after this. I cried at the end of this game after putting in over 100 hours to watch a character i cared for "die". I dont even remember more than 3 of the characters in final fantasy xiii let alone the plot.

@Adunn88 In the case of FFX, its what makes us want more, we all wanted Tidus to come back and thats why we have FFX-2, Square-Enix heeded our prayer for him to come back to Yuna, though they made us work for it, only those determined enough got 100% for them to be together again.
Why does Final Fantasy XII and XIII get so much hate? Im not saying they were my favorite, but they were fun i can agree that Vaan was a bit annoying at times but i dont hate his character, i kinda enjoy it sometimes. and XIII was linier but the story made up for that imo and Lightning was cool. My favorite Final Fantasy is VIII but X is at least close to second if not second.
X was the last Final Fantasy with a good story. Must say that i really did like the gameplay in XII though... The more active battles and license system. Mind though, X definately tops XII.

@wateverwill I consider myself a hardcore FF fan. But I still liked this game, I think it went downhill after X. And I agree, I don't understand how people don't like it.
@Baardnick They are both amazing, awesome games. I've never understood why so many people don't like X-2... I slightly prefer , but mainly because it was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played, and I have tons of fond memories for it. And I slightly prefer the battle system in X to X-2. But I've played X almost all the way through twice, and I'm working on my second game of X-2. I'll never tire of either of them, they're amazing games. :)
I'm not ashamed to say that this game has made me speechless, it's made me sad, it's made me sit there staring blankly at the screen wondering how a game could do this. But it has also made me cry. The story is amazing, so damn emotional, and there will never be one that will be able to top that feeling I got the first time I completed it, there will never be another game that I can emotionally connect with the characters..

just read some of the details for 13-2, it wont be another X-2 cause they arent changing claires personality, they are making darker instead of more light hearted, and they are fixing the significant complaints of the first which most of them were ust the retarted FF fanbase bitching about remedial things
@jsh020 honestly the only qualms i had with 13 was the gameplay, i mean....final fnatasy is famous for freedom and this game was all point A to point B until the last few chapters. also the battle.....i rather have a 10 style battle system than what 13 had. it was just boring no offense. i hope you're right though, since i dont want a good story being killed
@thevoiceofreason94 FF isnt famous for freedom. its actualy extremly far from the truth. they are all fairly linear. yes they woudl have airships by the end (like literly the last 75% most of the time ie a little after you get to pulse) but ultimatly you had no choice or any real exploration ouytside of mabey 1 or 2 side quests, the only open FF game was 12, not to mention X is easily the most linear in the serise by a long shot. but dont get me wrong i did indeed think 13's linearity was bad
@jsh020 i know they are linear, they are famous for their free world travel though. thats what i meant, sorry if i worded it to make it sound like freedom like mass effect has. anywhoo, i like the linear system but at least it wasnt BAM BAM MOVE MOVE MOVE KILL THIS KILL THAT KILL THE FINAL BOSS!!!! it was more move at your own pace, level up, develop the chars. and 12 was just plain horrible. im sorry but for all its freedom, the combat and characters did not do it justice.
@thevoiceofreason94 well X kinda was like that, it realy was just go straight and kill everything or more liek how most people did it by get into battle then use tidus's flee command, i fairly enjoyed 12, yes its not one of the best but it was fun and i fairly liked the cast, but it wasnt till the sequal that vaan and penelo felt like MC's, and the romance between them was surprisingly well done in 12-2, but honestly the whole linearity for 13 was just a minor flaw realy, not game breaking.
@jsh020 lol after realizing what i just said, yeah X was like that but i had good gameplay and story to back it up. i think i liked 7's free travel better though, as for 12 to each his own i guess. i can honestly say in my opinion, i did not like it, doesnt mean you have to agree lol. 13's linerioirty for half the game felt not really gamebreaking but tedious and gives the fan a loss of interest. they want some extras and minigames and other features. at least X had those. @jsh020 i'll give it a shot, but yeah i won't get into the similiority of 13 and 10 because i believe that 10 does have twice the content 13 does and has so much more to offer th player. if my friend just got interested in FF, then i would give him 10 out of any game.

FFX is my favorite game ever, not fav FF, fav game, 13 makes it up there in my top 5 though due to it having the most fleched out and developed(plus likable) rpg cast ive seen with a fun battle system, its a shame that a majority of the already mainly dead cast will proboly die in 13-2

everyones elses was great and hey this is SQUARE were talking about, they are very heavy on "karma is a bitch" so fang kinda got her requiendum about 20 min later, i still felt sad when it happened but i was a little more bummed that vannile sacrificed herself aswell, but hey its a running tradition in FF that every ending is bittersweet, even 9 was pretty bittersweet
@jsh020 well at least in 9 they were reunited. but the bittersweet moment comes from the shock that the story is actually over. Square enix are masters at telling stories and if only their gameplay was more appealing. they would be hitting bestsellers, game of the years, all that good stuff. because gameplay falls so short that the story kinda needs to carry the game, Square kinda loses a lot of credit.

@jsh020 you always need chaos in the story, without that the story is just one carnival ride. Romeo would have just married Juliet if the Capulets and the Montegues weren't feuding. i admit Square focuses a lot on the bittersweet moments but i'm just saying that to them, thats just one more way of advancing the plot and developing the chars. their gameplay are experimental at best. The first 10 had identical systems, then they started experimenting. Frankly they should have kept the old system

The only story that flat out defeats any fantasy title in my opinion is MGS and only because it has such a deep storyline with so many twists and turns and shocking moments. while there are better games with better stories, fantasy as a whole was unbeatable for quite some time. i just hope square remembers that fanservice is worthless

@BoydTheMilkmanX i appreciate the fact that Square is experimenting but i really think they should stop doing so by wasting the players time with failed combat systems. X-2 combat was ok, the one thing that defeated it was the story and characters, it just didnt live up to the original. hopefully square fixes the battle system up to today's standards, yes i support the move from turn based so long as there is a better solution. the last games 13 and 12 were failures in combat system.
@gonzaloffx2 yeah, X-2 was ok in my standards. it was like the Beta stage of 13's battle system. even at the beta stage it was still better too. Once square Enix finds a good replacement combat system that fits today's standards of RPG gameplay, Final Fantasy will return to its previous glory because i honestly see no problems with the storytelling aspects
i always say my favorite was FF8 and maybe 7.. 11 is great too, but this really did have a great concise and emotional story. the coming together of it all.. the past being laid to rest, just great. tidus n yuna's love is the stuff of legend too. *whistles*

@thelaststand1369 Honestly, I thought kind of the same thing on XIII... Plot-wise, I liked it. Gameflow-wise, I'm more of a fan of the open world exploration, and in XIII i think it would've been nice to be able to go all around Cocoon and experience it as a whole instead of just Gran Pulse; although, granted, yes Gran Pulse was fucking HUGE!
@miahmonkii exactly my point! even the fight sequencing was great. The only problem I saw, well for me, was the exploration mode which is as you we both agreed on, too linear. Exploring it as a whole would've been great. Not to mention if there was something like a flying machine or whatnot to explore like say ride on fang's bahamut like what they did to escape to gran pulse! =))

@Adunn88 In the case of FFX, its what makes us want more, we all wanted Tidus to come back and thats why we have FFX-2, Square-Enix heeded our prayer for him to come back to Yuna, though they made us work for it, only those determined enough got 100% for them to be together again.

Why does Final Fantasy XII and XIII get so much hate? Im not saying they were my favorite, but they were fun i can agree that Vaan was a bit annoying at times but i dont hate his character, i kinda enjoy it sometimes. and XIII was linier but the story made up for that imo and Lightning was cool. My favorite Final Fantasy is VIII but X is at least close to second if not second.

X was the last Final Fantasy with a good story. Must say that i really did like the gameplay in XII though... The more active battles and license system. Mind though, X definately tops XII.

@Baardnick They are both amazing, awesome games. I've never understood why so many people don't like X-2... I slightly prefer , but mainly because it was the first Final Fantasy game I ever played, and I have tons of fond memories for it. And I slightly prefer the battle system in X to X-2. But I've played X almost all the way through twice, and I'm working on my second game of X-2. I'll never tire of either of them, they're amazing games. :)

I'm not ashamed to say that this game has made me speechless, it's made me sad, it's made me sit there staring blankly at the screen wondering how a game could do this. But it has also made me cry. The story is amazing, so damn emotional, and there will never be one that will be able to top that feeling I got the first time I completed it, there will never be another game that I can emotionally connect with the characters..

though seriously if you ddint like FF13 then 13-2 is made for you. square is listening to fans litterly from them on the streets(of japan) and from what details they have released the game will end up being a very dark and constant downer. ecpecialy when you versus 13's creator say that 13-2 is the most emotional and his personal favorite story

just read some of the details for 13-2, it wont be another X-2 cause they arent changing claires personality, they are making darker instead of more light hearted, and they are fixing the significant complaints of the first which most of them were ust the retarted FF fanbase bitching about remedial things

@jsh020 honestly the only qualms i had with 13 was the gameplay, i mean....final fnatasy is famous for freedom and this game was all point A to point B until the last few chapters. also the battle.....i rather have a 10 style battle system than what 13 had. it was just boring no offense. i hope you're right though, since i dont want a good story being killed

@thevoiceofreason94 FF isnt famous for freedom. its actualy extremly far from the truth. they are all fairly linear. yes they woudl have airships by the end (like literly the last 75% most of the time ie a little after you get to pulse) but ultimatly you had no choice or any real exploration ouytside of mabey 1 or 2 side quests, the only open FF game was 12, not to mention X is easily the most linear in the serise by a long shot. but dont get me wrong i did indeed think 13's linearity was bad

@thevoiceofreason94 well X kinda was like that, it realy was just go straight and kill everything or more liek how most people did it by get into battle then use tidus's flee command, i fairly enjoyed 12, yes its not one of the best but it was fun and i fairly liked the cast, but it wasnt till the sequal that vaan and penelo felt like MC's, and the romance between them was surprisingly well done in 12-2, but honestly the whole linearity for 13 was just a minor flaw realy, not game breaking.

@jsh020 lol after realizing what i just said, yeah X was like that but i had good gameplay and story to back it up. i think i liked 7's free travel better though, as for 12 to each his own i guess. i can honestly say in my opinion, i did not like it, doesnt mean you have to agree lol. 13's linerioirty for half the game felt not really gamebreaking but tedious and gives the fan a loss of interest. they want some extras and minigames and other features. at least X had those. Blitzball ftw lol

FFX is my favorite game ever, not fav FF, fav game, 13 makes it up there in my top 5 though due to it having the most fleched out and developed(plus likable) rpg cast ive seen with a fun battle system, its a shame that a majority of the already mainly dead cast will proboly die in 13-2

@jsh020 well at least in 9 they were reunited. but the bittersweet moment comes from the shock that the story is actually over. Square enix are masters at telling stories and if only their gameplay was more appealing. they would be hitting bestsellers, game of the years, all that good stuff. because gameplay falls so short that the story kinda needs to carry the game, Square kinda loses a lot of credit.

@jsh020 you always need chaos in the story, without that the story is just one carnival ride. Romeo would have just married Juliet if the Capulets and the Montegues weren't feuding. i admit Square focuses a lot on the bittersweet moments but i'm just saying that to them, thats just one more way of advancing the plot and developing the chars. their gameplay are experimental at best. The first 10 had identical systems, then they started experimenting. Frankly they should have kept the old system

The only story that flat out defeats any fantasy title in my opinion is MGS and only because it has such a deep storyline with so many twists and turns and shocking moments. while there are better games with better stories, fantasy as a whole was unbeatable for quite some time. i just hope square remembers that fanservice is worthless

@jsh020 allow me to say this. the turn based system is a failure in todays standards. i never said i approved of it. i stated that they should stick with it over the ones they tried to use in their experimental gameplays of FFXII and FFXIII. both failed beyond what the turn based system was. until they find a good battle system i say go turn based system because the ones they are using now are just plain horrible. its my opinion so you dont have to agree nor am i trying to change your mind

X-2 combat was ok, the one thing that defeated it was the story and characters, it just didnt live up to the original. hopefully square fixes the battle system up to today's standards, yes i support the move from turn based so long as there is a better solution. the last games 13 and 12 were failures in combat system.

@gonzaloffx2 yeah, X-2 was ok in my standards. it was like the Beta stage of 13's battle system. even at the beta stage it was still better too. Once square Enix finds a good replacement combat system that fits today's standards of RPG gameplay, Final Fantasy will return to its previous glory because i honestly see no problems with the storytelling aspects

@MuchachoLoko90 FF12, It didn't stress the main character. After a while he really wasn't Important to the storyline. I mean he could have been but I think he failed when It came to "getting involved" but my top 5 in my opinion is.

Yea FF12 was unique, however I didnt get the same feel, and trust me admire square enix and I support the fact that they tried to mix it up. It wasn't horrible, however it could have been better. How bout you, whats your top?

Gameflow-wise, I'm more of a fan of the open world exploration, and in XIII i think it would've been nice to be able to go all around Cocoon and experience it as a whole instead of just Gran Pulse; although, granted, yes Gran Pulse was fucking HUGE!

@miahmonkii exactly my point! even the fight sequencing was great. The only problem I saw, well for me, was the exploration mode which is as you we both agreed on, too linear. Exploring it as a whole would've been great. Not to mention if there was something like a flying machine or whatnot to explore like say ride on fang's bahamut like what they did to escape to gran pulse! =))
