I see this is a model with the shifter on the steering column. I had seen that sort of Jeep in a movie, but I didn't even know Jeeps had automatic transmission before 1996.
Well then "JanL" doesn't understand the history of the jeep and it's adaption for uses that in reality required the automatic transmission to be a sound choice for various applications.
A disabled veteran I am friends with lost the full use of his left leg, and can no longer clutch. He *is* the person you go to when you needed to talk Jeeps.
Hey I wasnt into any history per say and indeed if a person male, female, old, or young for (somereason) disability has trouble with the Clutch and Shifting Transmission My comment in no way was directed to them, that i would never do......Im not an Ass......IM a person that thinks if enjoy a hobbie as in Jeeps in my case then I think a Jeep with a stick is so like a sports cars with a stick, but again thats me, we all have opinions, like you commenting on my opinion.

logans76cj5 1 year ago
in the CJ5s you couldnt get an automatic because of the shorter wheelbase but because of the CJ7s lenghth they could fit one in there.

Daisy's Jeep was an automatic when Bo or Luke was driving, but everything she drove was a 4 speed.
