@jakripps9 I do not think she broke both her legs. She pushed herself until she could walk or run no longer. It is called hitting the wall. It happens sometimes when xc runners push themselves too far, or just far enough. Depending on who you ask.

yeah. i agree. maybe its just a few of us but i would rather have dragged her ass with me or carried her and been disqualified than to always remember i passed her up just to win. not worth it.

i forgot where i saw this originally but i think she broke one bone and then broke the other bone when she tried to stand up again.

Have you ever run a race that hard for that long? Most of those people didn't even realize she was down, not to mention they are kicking at the end of their race. If you are a runner who races, you would realize how foolish it would be to try and help her. Anyways good for her for finishing that race!

yep. just finished the l.a. marathon. wouldn't ever do that again. that was brutal. no kidding - there was a young blind kid who passed me. i was pretty proud of him. he was maybe 15.

i was there... it was terrible. Poor girl broke her leg earlier in the race but kept going... it was really sad to see her fall at the end and kept crawling. The girl from my team finnished 9th at states. Oh and for anyone who doesn't know, you can't get help from anyone untill after the race or else you will be either pulled out of the race or disqualified.

She did immediately realize that she had broken her leg until she did try to get up. Crawling doesn't cause any more damage, just tremendous pain. The guy at the end was the one that got her to stand up again after talking to her, so it was clear she didn't really know the extent of her injuries. Anyways, for you to call that idiotic when she was so close to finishing just proves how outstanding this is these days. Good luck achieving anything noteworthy in your life with that attitude.

She is my hero!!! Not gonna lie I probably would have either rolled to the side of the course and then I might of crawled knowing that first aid was on the OTHER side of the finish line. And Jdawg221, just because she broke her leg running doesn't mean it's "too hard" it just means you risk injury just like every other sport. You just have a weak mind, but running more can fix that in a few years.... no worries
