  • Damn the 70s commercials where FUCKED UP!

  • I paused at 0:19, the perfect timing!

  • You kids eat those pies, then go ride your bikes for 5 hours so you can burn off all that sugar and fat!

  • This crap aint good for kids lol

  • Is it a pie or a calzone?

  • Yea right body building.

  • That fruit pie looks twice as big as the ones now! Even with that kid holding it.

  • Lol what nutrition :D

  • Gawd, I loved these things when I was a kid. (maybe too much.) These days, course being diabetic, I can't even dream of eating these. What I remember the sugar coating, the thick stuffing inside, which I loved the chocolate better then any of the others. (well maybe apple 2nd best.) Used to take a spoon and eat the filling out carefully, and then eat the rest. LOL Thanks for the memories wookie.

  • I liked the Carol Burnett spoof where she stood up and knocked over the table because her rear was six feet wide! I hope I can find that one day.

  • why do they eat like they have not eat for 2 days

  • These are so bad for you.

  • Fortified with high fructose corn syrup and carcinogens to help your children grow strong and cancerous.

  • I can't find Hostess Fruit Pies anywhere.

  • I happen to be eatting a Hostess apple pie right now, but for some reason the kid holding the pie in the add, his pie looks bigger then mine or maybe it's because I got older or perhaps the Hostess apple pies have shrunk over the years?

Like I always say, Hostess is the Mostess!

  • @TomRoykouffVideos Maybe the camera zoomed in on it to show everything inside. Like when a cereal box says "enlarged to show detail". I just had a cherry one not long ago and it was SUPER SWEET, but still the same size. :-)

  • I still eat these things. I can get them for 60 cents at the bakery outlet. They seem to be coated in some kind of laminate.

    Nevertheless, I still eat them

    I am so ashamed.......

  • Eventually, Hostess got Ann Blyth (and her kids) to appear in several of their commercials, primarily to assure mothers that their fruit pies and snack cakes weren't "junk food", and that they DID have a say as to when they could serve them to their own offspring. Ann's sellling point was, "When I say yes, it's Hostess".

  • Would I be correct to assume that these were seen as treats at the time, as opposed to something eaten 5 times a day?

  • Vietnam? Hah! Back in '70, I was fighting it out in the SNACK CAKE JUNGLE!

  • a whole Hostess fruit pie today is at least 350-400 calories. Was it that much in those days? Whew!

  • I looked it up. Try 480 calories for one today. But the ones in this commercial look massive compared to what is sold now. I shudder to think...

  • Vitamin Fortified LOLOLOLOL! Yes, that makes up for all the delicious lard, sugar and bleached wheat flour. ;) Were Mom's that gullable then?(I sense the answer is yes, even as a child of the 70's)

  • This quite the channel........perfect.

  • thank goodness for your handsome blond children raised on nutritious fruit pies :D

  • chocolate, vanilla, apple Oh my... There was so many that I loved, I cant pinpoint which was my favorite. I would have to say apple and Chocolate. man this brings me back a few years, and getting me hungry.. Yum Yum Yum, delicioso!

  • The Hostess pies were always my favorite...apple and vanilla pudding. Yum!

  • These are awesome!

  • I remember that! "welcome to the snack cake jungle."
