  • lol what's with the DJ? he just fucked it up

  • yo lil wang and chris brown, y u gotta thumbs down this vid brah?

  • @silentpounce Cuz they know they'll never be this hot on the MIC!!! Snowgoons, JMT, Army of the Pharaohs, Definitve Jux, Rhymsayers, Lost Children of Babylon, Hitfarmers for LIFE!

  • OH MY GOD HIS FLOW IS SO SICK

  • Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy have to stop disliking Aesop's vids.

  • Scientists need to test this guy...His lyrics are genius. He has the best lyrics I've ever heard of, fuck that mainstream shit..

  • @GlobberThree000 truth

  • Mean quality vid yo

  • 2 people only listen to charts

  • crazy how he doesn't run out of breath haha

  • @PTSO09 Thats why you have a breath man aka rob sonic or this red hair guy. Stage performances are so hard, aesop rock makes it look easy.

  • @DavidCharles02 the red hair guy is El-P. Good rapper, too

  • he fucks so much face. straight kills it live.

  • @bschoe2 yeah dude good comment this guy is sick, everyone around his area has alot natural talent

  • watch?v=g4iK8YeA24Q

  • He sounds like the guy off mad tv who does the K-fed spoof!

He has the same voice as this guy when he trys to rap!

  • >matrix background

    I lol'd

    (>can't greentext here)

    (I cried a little)

  • what's with all the lil wayne is mainstream talk? this is no knock on AR, but he was on mtv and is hardly "underground" anymore. he's been putting in work a decade +. i just don't get why lil wayne's name is somehow always thrown in, this is a whole sub genre in itself.

  • @mateobust, pffft, Aesop Rock has only a million viewer compare to Justin Bieber or Lil Wayne that has more than 50 million viewers.

Aesop is still underground yet most people I met don't know whose Aesop.

  • his metaphors and overall flow are amazing! absolutely annihilates all the mainstream junk that people consider hip-hop today

  • or how many different producers and executive producers they have on an album. producers have a huge influence on the style of the music and what each the performer lays on the track. their song might not even be written by the performer!

mixtape heroes like drake, the pack, lil'flip, sol'jah boy aren't in the same league as either mainstream or independent bcuz as soon as they get some noteriatey, they're all over the airwaves but can fade even quicker then they appeared

  • this is to anybody that wants to compare 'INDEPENDENT" hip-hop {Slug, MURS, AES, J5, Planet Asia, MF Doom, etc} to "MAINSTREAM" hip-hop {Jay-Z, NAS, Snoop, Lil' Wayne, Kanye, Eminem and most of what is heard on the radio}

read their cd liner: check how many writers are on each track

  • one of my fave aes rock joints. i had make the break my ringtone

  • good god this man is amazing!

  • He's coming to my school next month. I'm freaking stoked.

  • @Triundi JEALOUS!!!

  • Damn, I love San Francisco. I need to see Aesop Rock's flow live

  • Aes is god.

  • He doesn't breathe. It just comes out in one breath.

    lol

  • god aesop is fucking badass i hope i can meet him one day

  • hes amazinggg

  • dude is a machine.

  • Jesus christ, dude.

He absolutely rips the mic live.

    Boss!

  • damn he is good live

  • @larn555 - yes he is

  • Holy shit.

  • is that El-p in the orange top?

  • yeah thats the man himself

  • I know!, Aesop Rock is REALLY good at live.

  • He sounds soo grate at live concerts!!

damn awesome. and the lyrics goes so fast.... need to lisn to 1 song 10 times to really understand the song.

    Props from Norway!

  • mainstream rap has always been the tip of the iceburg. the small visible part that everybody thinks is the whole thing, when the really substantial mass is really below the surface.

  • exactly

  • nicely put

  • @dixonyass wow, that was hell did you think of that yourself i never looked at it like that

  • @dixonyass i love you

  • @dixonyass One of the best comments I ever seen!

  • These are real lyrics..

    not get a repetitive verse.

  • he looks like my cousin willy

  • omg tell us more

  • about what

  • your cousin willy

  • oh ok

hes about 5 10' 200 pounds funny guy good guy to be around he raps too

just to mess around when were bored though

hes pretty good at it too

  • what's the song the el starts to sing as the video is ending?

  • It's called "The Overly Dramatic Truth". Good song, you can also see his live performance if you browse it up in youtube.

  • Thanks sir.

  • You know... I thought I hated rap... Then I realized something. I hate all that perverted shit. REAL Rap is good. Aesop Rock is the best rapper.

  • i like to seperate it as hiphop. aesop, jedi mind tricks, atmosphere, busdriver, del, all great. it's about lyrical poetry to a beat. telling a story or a deeper meaning within a song, not getting pussy or money. its the flo rida, 50cent, lil wayne trash that gives the genre a bad rep

  • deep cody deep.

  • This guy sure is the beez kneez!!!

  • so smooth

  • man i really need to see this man live...he ownz!

  • yeah dude's got great breath control. apathy may be one knotch higher though

  • yeah i agree

apathy is one of the best live for how fast his lyrics are

    aesop rock rocks too lol

  • Doseone

  • wtf is wrong with the dj? looks like he is about faint

  • Thats Mr. Dibbs Dont hate haha but he does look pretty fucked up

  • aesop killes everyone. the beats/jams and the lyrics/rymes. beats everyone.

  • wow i don't know of any rapper who can hold his breath as long as hiim

  • damn

gotta do breathing exercises to rap like him lol

  • I've always thought that Aesop's music was a lot like prose. I love it and it reaches the individual just the way Aesop meant. Even if he doesn't seem to know it.

In the same way, El-P's music is like poetry, both of them in the lyrical sense.

Aesop is still my hero, and this is still my favorite song after almost a year.

  • this is awesomee.. no one can fuck with aesop rock lyrically.

    he's a freaaking beast!

  • Lil' Wayne is a skank.

    Aesop kills him.

  • preach! i hate that muthafucka lil wayne

  • @mike0oo lil wayne shoots crossbow, aesop blocks it, uses blade hands and cuts off wayne's face.

  • aesop rapes weezy. weezy thinks he is the greatest, pssshh.

    aesop rulez

  • Aesop rock is the most original emcee on the fucking planet...He has the content of 5 albums in one...every time he releases a record. I can't think of one person that even comes close...

  • i had to watch something live because i didnt believe it wasnt really a black man.

  • he still aesop the fuck outta the rock :P i love him and will remain a fan as long as he writes and paints.its not about who is better its about having the option of chosing that garbage akon shit or real shit like this.el-p is an ugly fuck but he has dope tracks...

  • Such an awesome song.

  • your a cool guy

  • your a cool guy

  • tha was fuckin dope

  • aesop is something else i aint heard nuffin like it better than n e 1

needs to go mainstream so more peepz can appreciate noone can spit like aesop

  • its pretty funny,

    he forgot the line.

  • El-p is such a weak artist, if he didnt own Defjux id hate that fool.

  • Yeah real weak, like he NEVER tears the roof off every show he plays, it must just be pure luck that these guys sign for Jux, rather than his rep as a groundbreaking artist and major player...

  • i mean El-P not Aesop, Aesop is the ill shit, El-p is weak as fuck.

  • Oh yeah I remember him feeding off Aes and Can Ox when he was Company Flow... I find it hard to believe that someone who thinks Aes' lyrics are ill can say El's are bullshit, when if anything Aes is even more abstract.

  • Aesops' lyrics are more artistic, transcending the blatant and boring expression of El-P's 'feelings', whack ass lyrics, a lot of El-P's shit is like Emo for hiphop. if you all like his watered down shit thats cool but i dont.

  • I'm not even interested in whether one is better but there are points where Aes' lyrics border on incoherent. It's a moot point, I can't see anyone who's heard "High Water" can question el-p's status as a musician, let alone as someone who's paid dues in hiphop.

  • you cant say that el-p has the same rapping talent as aesop or cage but his beats are one of the best in the business

  • for sure Aesop spits way sicker than El-P

  • well aesop spits sicker than anyone

  • Aes destroys El-P in the rhyme department. El-P has sicker beats though.

  • El-P is an instrumental expert, he focuses more on his complex beats than anything. Great rap is not lyric heavy but is a symbiosis of lyrics and music. To quote Steinski, in great rap, "there is nothing in this music I don't want to hear." El-P's I'll sleep when your dead is amazing.

  • i dont think there is anyone better than him

  • Aesop... is one of the BEST, Artists... PERIOD..

paints a canvas with his words - always!

    COME BACK TO TORONTO!

  • yo man hes playing sound academy (docks) tonite! jan 11th 2008 doors at 7:00
