Floyd is great too, but he’s got a gift in the same way Pacquiao does, their athleticism.

The basis of counterpunching is to make your opponent pay when he punches, otherwise it's ineffective. Allow me to ask u this: Marquez was comfortable bein the counterpuncher against Floyd, but when he saw he not effective, why didn't he adapt n switch n be more aggressive? Sometimes u HAVE TO GET OFF FIRST before your opponent does to be effective when u can't counter.

Floyd is fast so he avoids the jab and returns his own. Perhaps the only way for Marquez to have had a shot was to enter an all out brawl. But given his physical condition (looked “flabby” for lack of better word) and his chicken legs, that would’ve been dumb. Sometimes it’s better to lose on the cards, than get KO’ed.

All of his opponents basically go for him and he counters. If Manny was to fight him, I think it would be difficult for both. On the one hand, Manny cannot fight Floyd like he always fights Marquez. But It’s a given Marquez will make Manny fight how he wants, but it hasn’t been proven Floyd can. Who knows if he can keep his cool if he gets knocked down.

If he gets fouled, knocked down, or anything else unforseen, losing his cool will be the last thing that happens. He's the ultyimate professional n totally focused on his business in the ring. Low blows, head butts, or knock downs will not rattle the guy...i've seen him handle those things like a great fighter should.

On the other hand, Floyd counterpunches when he needs to and he's also aggressive when he wants to be; he intelligently adapts to anything his opponent TRIES to bring. Pacman could never KO Floyd, he couldn't even KO Marquez. Floyd will systemically break him down with sharper punches to the head n body, n u all will be shocked.

He can brawl when he wants to, hence why he has more KO victories than both Pacquiao and Floyd. In my opinion, he’s the best boxer, doesn’t mean he can beat everyone, but speaking based on intelligence in the ring and technicality, he’s the best in my eyes. Floyd is great too, but he’s got a gift in the same way Pacquiao does, their athleticism.

The basis of counterpunching is to make your opponent pay when he punches, otherwise it's ineffective. Allow me to ask u this: Marquez was comfortable bein the counterpuncher against Floyd, but when he saw he not effective, why didn't he adapt n switch n be more aggressive? Sometimes u HAVE TO GET OFF FIRST before your opponent does to be effective when u can't counter.

@ad5000moe Floyd is stronger and faster, not to mention he didn’t make weight. The only way I know for a slower opponent to beat a fast counter puncher is sheer power or jab. Floyd is fast so he avoids the jab and returns his own. Perhaps the only way for Marquez to have had a shot was to enter an all out brawl. But given his physical condition (looked “flabby” for lack of better word) and his chicken legs, that would’ve been dumb. Sometimes it’s better to lose on the cards, than get KO’ed.

@ad5000moe That’s also the reason why I view Marquez as a better boxer than both. Marquez can adjust.So far we haven’t had to see Floyd adjust. All of his opponents basically go for him and he counters. If Manny was to fight him, I think it would be difficult for both. On the one hand, Manny cannot fight Floyd like he always fights Marquez. But It’s a given Marquez will make Manny fight how he wants, but it hasn’t been proven Floyd can. Who knows if he can keep his cool if he gets knocked down.

If he gets fouled, knocked down, or anything else unforseen, losing his cool will be the last thing that happens. He's the ultyimate professional n totally focused on his business in the ring. Low blows, head butts, or knock downs will not rattle the guy...i've seen him handle those things like a great fighter should.

Floyd's knees buckled but he didn't go anywhere; he took the punch, collected himself like a true champion, and after that, Shane couldn't touch him the rest of the night. Manny will try and overwhelm him with an accumulation of punches; he has power but won't be able to hit Floyd enough for it to show.
