there we go now it works. but yeah for me it isnt about character realism, and goku was far from naive. he had experience, he acted like he had experience in fighting, he handled shit like a boss, he was selfless and noble, and he was kind and loving. overall, he was a real nigga lol. maybe you are just doing it wrong. but hey, you watch it how you want. im just suggesting that you not be so rigid in your views.
i get that, but its good to look for more than just how you relate to it. you said you didnt care for goku's "unreallistically naive demeanor". well 1. i dont think you really know what "naive" means. look that up on dictionary com or something. 2. if you are looking for extremely realistic characters or just realistic characters in general then you shouldnt be watching anime, because there is never any realistic characters lol. 3. realism in anime is generally absent in all forms.
the fuck is up with youtubes retarded comments system? it keeps sayign error try again. i do and it doesnt work refresh the page and it doesnt work. fucking youtube cant just keep one system. i cant even see the responses i get.
so to the guy who said dbz was just about action and blowing shit up, i suggest you go back and watch it again. all anime convey one true concept in this regard, its all about how you look at shit. even if you see something that isnt really there, like a concept that wasnt intentional, it is just imagined, you can still come to true realizations by it. just thinking and introspection can lead us to truths. its a matter of perspective. btw i loved yu yuy hakusho. this song rocks.
@JustTrollinAlong I do agree that DBZ had many good morals, but I hate people who like DBZ more than other animes just because the characters are physically stronger. Also, I find it difficult to relate to a character like Goku. Yusuke, an anti-hero, represents a person's imperfections rather than a depiction of an unrealistically naive demeanor that Goku seems to represent. I did enjoy DBZ a lot, it almost serves as a guideline for life. But Yu Yu Hakusho taught me to find who I am.
@LineDancer97 the world taught you to be who you are, not a show. sorry to sound arrogant. i think you are looking at how you relate to the characters in the shows rather than the concepts a show has to offer. i look for a few things when i watch an anime. firstly, i look at its entertainment value lol. this includes story, characters, etcetera. 2nd, i look at what it teaches, what knowledge i can gain from it, the concepts it offers. you watch anime in a different way, the way i used to.
and hercule his friend couldnt help him. this to me seemed to say that there are some battles we must fight alone, our inner battles. our friends may not be able to help with those, but sometimes them being there for us can give us strength. also, our demons may overcome us (like evil buu did to buu) but there is still the good parts of ourselves inside us no matter what, our demons cant destroy us completely. again demonstrating the concept of second chance like was with the dragonballs.
the obstacles thing is prevelant in every action anime it seems, as well as the friendship thing. but there were unique concepts that dbz had to offer. i especially liked the one with majin buu, he was like a child at first, but was misguided, this seems to imply that not all people who act bad are bad to the core, which set him apart from other villains. he was a misguided child who only needed a friend to show him the way, but by that time he had to face his inner demon
@scubaben99 The point of an anime is not how ridiculously overpowered the protagonist gets. I like DBZ, but it is clearly more directed towards children because of the pure action with an unremarkable plot. What seems to attract viewers is characters having the ability to blow up a planet or fire kamehamehas that can be seen from space. DBZ didn't make me reevaluate who I was like YYH was able to.
@LineDancer97 you didnt look deep enough if you didnt understand the great concepts that dragonball z had to offer. one of them is that as you go through life, there will always be harder and harder obstacles to face, this was represented by the increasingly overpowered as fuck enemies. but you must be prepared to face them, if you cannot, you will be destroyed. but everybody gets second chances. and with the powers of friendship and love, you can overcome anything. and selflesness prevails.
this is my all-time favorite anime ever! No matter how many people say they hate it or how many people put it down, it never deters me from it. Why did Toonami have to stop? This was one of the reasons I looked forward to nine o'clock.
I love this show and i have been watching it for as long as i can remember, but im older now and forgot it. So im re- watching it on yu yu hakusho.com for free all the episodes. And its not like megavideo youcan watch as much as you want for free
Guys help me out here. I'm thinking about watching the ending to this show, since I never saw it as a kid, but I'm afraid that this ecstatic like illusion of the story never really ending in my head to suddenly end in a way I don't want it to end, or be all sad like. So what should i do? To me this show lives on, and if I watch the ending, it might change things... the ongoing story even describes my life right now, so what do I do?
@Kisukekiralissohot Watch the ending. It ends on such a happy note that you'll be satisfied with it whether you wanted it to end or not. Just remember that single tear that runs down your face to let it run. :)
This anime was and still is, for the matter the best and most beautiful anime ever. I might be biased because I watched this for countless hours in my childhood, but when I really look at it, this really taught me alot as a child. The emotions in this anime are captured perfectly, and it always never fails to not only entertain, but pull you in. I recently rewatched it after five or six years, and being 21, I figured "Oh, I probably thought it was cool as a kid, and it'll suck." Nope, amazing.
I watched this and I have since watched it about three times. This is the best show ever and it makes me sad it is over. Thank for posting this and making me remember a time when I was first learning the painful effects of losing people. It helps me cope sometimes. In the long run I hope this show is still able to be watched for a time when I have children.
@darklunarknight maybe the creator will be like..hmmm ppl seem to want yu yu hakusho more than hunter x hunter even though i just got back i could use some more money soooo...(this happens in my dreams..)........................................
Yu Yu Hakusho is a show that teaches us things about our own lives and how we can become stronger as a person and to never give up even after the toughest of hardships. I think we can all relate to one of the characters. I'm able to almost connect my own life with this show. We may not have special powers or anything like that, but we have the powers of love and friendship which really are the source of all of their powers. We all partake in a journey along side our friends and loved ones.
@Mrcoolmarko lol What I meant was the ending, "Homework never ends". Because I think they only have the english for the TV version, but not the actual full song unlike this for the opening.
@DiamonZification Well I think that's because Kuwabara's bending somewhat and Yusuke and Karama are more in the foreground. But you still could be right.
Still a classic Anime and I loved the opening to the song in English more then the Japanese one but that's just me. I'm going to enjoy re watching this series again. I haven't seen it since I was a kid and they played this on Cartoon Network''s Toonami then moved it to the earlier version of the Adult Swim block. Such memories. = )
Hey if any of you guys still wanna watch this it comes on on this channel called funimation on fios it's 262 it plays new and old anime most networks have it
@WillowOfLife Y'know, I MAY have jizzed in my pants when I found out we were finally switching to Fios. I MAY have jizzed my pants when I saw a funimation channel. But you know what? @Thekingpac2014 I know right? I wish I could go back to my childhood. 18 myself, and I fucking MISS Toonami and the good ol anime days when I was growing up. I watched all those, plus Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, all the oldies(sides Champloo, thats not old) we're the best animes to me. I miss my childhood....
@AlucardHellsing97 Yeah I know right it was the golden era for all of us they were the best just the best after around '07 it was through the magic i mean it wasn't around no more because of CN was done with the station which i never got and the i want it back now Toonami i mean i was badass and now CN is just a avg network i like Adventure time and regular show i guess it reminds me of the shows of the old days the others are just okay to me it might come back man...........might.

Does anybody know the name of the lady who sings this song? She's really good. I know Carl Finch (who's also a member of Brave Combo, an awesome band) produced it. Which is pretty cool.
Yu Yu Hakusho is a show that teaches us things about our own lives and how we can become stronger as a person and to never give up even after the toughest of hardships. In the Philippines this Anime is being shown at least yearly by GMA 7 network, sometime ago they stopped airing this, but they went back, and is airing up to this day! they started airing like 10 years ago, It is sooooo great. I hope they would guarantee showing Yuyu Hakusho or Ghostfigther (it's the name here) show. So Everyday you will feel like a kid.
@lolpanther123 notlikely since many of the demons died i terrible way and all the blood. if they did it wouldnt be th same, no curseing, blood, and they probably shorten the fights and get rid of the dragon of the darkness flame.
@ParatrooperLirelou You know that in English Dub the person voicing Kuwabara is Christopher Sabot. The guy that voices Piccolo in Dragonball and Dragonball Z.
I hate the Cartoon Network for what they done, they took off all of the good shows and put on nothing but garbage. If you do not see that then you do not know as what good cartoons were.
@ParatrooperLirelou, Kuwabara's was the most touching. Keiko was a predictable response and Yusuke's mom was somewhat obligatory, and the principal was a little surprising.
But Kuwabara walks in and decks a guy, has like 3 people hold him back before he finally leaves in tears.
Yeah, and the comment the little boy made about wanting to play with Yusuke again was so cute too. Since I made this comment I watched a couple of episodes of Cross Game. That anime has a great 1st episode too, but I think this one still wins, by at least a little bit. :)
I miss this show & toonami :(

Does anybody know the name of the lady who sings this song? She's really good. I know Carl Finch (who's also a member of Brave Combo, an awesome band) produced it. Which is pretty cool.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a show that teaches us things about our own lives and how we can become stronger as a person and to never give up even after the toughest of hardships. I think we can all relate to one of the characters. I'm able to almost connect my own life with this show. We may not have special powers or anything like that, but we have the powers of love and friendship which really are the source of all of their powers. We all partake in a journey along side our friends and loved ones.

that's beautiful, the thing is that, only a really evil person would flag this and cover it from the world
this basically describe one of the MESSAGES of the show we like

I hope they would guarantee showing Yuyu Hakusho or Ghostfigther (it's the name here) show. So Everyday you will feel like a kid.

My buddy says they need to do a Yu Yu Hakusho tournament style crossover with Bleach, because he wants to see the characters from Bleach get owned.

N64GamerForLife 7 months ago
@N64GamerForLife A lot of anime opening songs are like that. This one is no exception.

Why Couldn't they do the same thing they did for DBZ kai but for this show...
lolpanther123 7 months ago

If you hate it I will smile at you and make your heart explode.

Hootja 9 months ago
I've never heard the full version, I have a 1:40 version of the song. Where the hell can I get this one? :)

I wish that they kept it going with more yu yu hakusho episodes. ^_^

@Animelover0916 It was good because of how and when it ended. Otherwise it would have turned into bleach.
