@cadvahn, admittedly I am a halo fanboy, and I truly love Dr Who. They both have amazing compositions, but the fact remains that they are both 2 completely different types of media with entirely different genres and music, therefore I deem it irrelevant for anybody to compare the 2. Both of them has music that makes you cry, smile, be on the edge of your seat and best of all make you feel EPIC.

think of it this way: he thought he lost rose, then found her, then committed genocide (sorta), was reminded of ALL the people who've died for him (in the new series--thee's lots more in the old)had to wipe donna's memory. He was probably thinkning about how many epople had been hurt by him.

sure the fact that he is a broken man because of those events is a main factor in driveing him to this point but the truth is the doctor isn't simply the universe greatest hero. in fact he's most likely one of the most dengerous people in the universe. if he does not have his compansions with him to hold him back and tell him when he crossed the line he will go darkside. that is why the only thing he truely fears is himself.
