  • that's actually Hopkins cousin, Billy Bizor, on harp not Sonny Terry...it was filmed at a barbecue, a party and a rodeo in rural Texas in 1967 and both Hopkins and Bizor are blind drunk...as usual..

  • that lick at 4:01 is IT! never heard anyone do a lick like that before....

  • It's Billy Bizor on harp. Read the credits. He was a long time friend of Lightnin'

  • Mr Buk Dontcha all realize it's the same as The Twist.

  • @COCOLAKED Lightnin' was playing this song before the word "twist" was invented!

  • 1967 WHEN BLACK FOLKS LOVE ONE ANOTHER. WE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO HAVE OUR OWN PLACES. WE HAD OUR OWN STYLES. NOW THAT IS LOSE. THANKS

  • WHY DOES THIS MELODY SOUND SO FAMILIAR, I CANT THINK OF THE SONG IT IS SIMILAR TO (AND YES I REALISE A LOT OF BLUES SOUNDS SIMILAR I AM A MUSICIAN) BUT CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT HERE???

  • @MrBuk86 the song "mojo hand" used the same melody

  • @dametjemmannedeemedh It aint just Mojo Hand cause I play that one all the time with my group, I mean the vocal melody sounds like something I cant put my finger on....like some other Lightnin' tune maybe...i dont know

  • @MrBuk86 Maybe it's the b-side to Mojo Hand....."come go home w/me"

  • Great! I thought I'd heard everything by Lightnin' I must have missed this one, and it is brilliant!

  • we need more lightnins

  • this is so beautiful.. beautiful music.. beautiful people ...

  • That's not Sonny Terry playing mouth harp.

  • @butte17 You're exactly right. That's Billy Bizor. At 1:07 or so you can see him down on the floor with a pillow singing a great song. Get the movie from Flower Films, I did. It's awesome.

  • 全く意味は分かりません!(笑い!)でも、この雰囲気好きだな!!!

  • The girls at 4:20 was cuttin up. lol. Great music.

  • This is the shit!

  • The guy at 1:15 is Mance Lipscomb

  • mmmm...get some of that black cat...it'll change your luck son.

  • I love this video so much. Now this is the real blues vibe in late 60's.

  • It takes more than a washboard to make it zydeco....Check out Blind Boy Fuller or the Memphis Jug Band...washboards go way back in the country blues tradition...

  • A sweet sound...

I saw Lightnin when he played in Berkeley ages ago... He was in a small club...

He was great to see in person especially in a small intimate place.

  • The men in the video are Lightnin' Hopkins, Mance Lipscomb, and Billy Bizor on the harmonica. Gotta dig the chick with the Colt on her hip.

  • @hardheadteacher well she was about 12 so I hope you aint digin' in any other way than groovy

  • @2007blazedale cmon she was at least 15. she'll be right in a football season or 2 ;-)

  • Does anyone know anything about the band he is playing with at the end ot this film?It looks like a Zydeco band. Would like to have heard the music from them. He and Sonny are great!

  • I would love for that cowgirl in the white pants to take a ride with me. Love Lightnin.

  • fantastic, dont get much better

  • Billy Bizor plays harmonica, not Sonny Terry.

  • @madmodpo No, its Sonny Terry. Search the last night blues album by lightnin hopkins and sonny terry and you'll find an album with that song on it.

But its Billy Bizor playing harmonica in the Blues According to Lightnin Hopkins

  • @RastaandthePs Thanks

  • Oh yeah.. Lightnin' and Sonny jammin' tall in small town!.. and a Mojo clip to boot!! hey where's the nearest rail yard? I got me some boxcar blues!

  • You can likely get it on Amazon. It was about 30 dollars, a bargain in my book.

  • search "The Blues Acordin' to Lightening Hopkins " ..Ive found it on VHS but only one weird site has it on DVD and Im not sure how legit it is . Let me know what you come up with ..I want this video as well .

  • where can I get this film?
