pms00 I have tried the advice on the links and completed farkas quest, but I still can't activate the altar. Do I also have to do Vilkas? I did his quest but after I failed one i unlocked farkas' and not vilkas'. Any advice on what to do?

Thanks, I actually tried going back to the tomb and doing this but I didn't know you had to do the quest for Farkas/Vilkas first. I want to get rid of it because I cant get the well rested bonus, and I never use beast form anyway. Also, my character wont get into Sovngarde and the guards keep commenting on it.....

One you cure your Lycanthropy, you can never get the beast form power back and you will be vulnerable to diseases.(Like Vampirism) Unless you have some type of enchantment or perk( Perks like 50% Resistance to Disease in the wood elf race) You can be very vulnerable to disease.

@Luccatheone ~ nope. you can cure yourself immediately upon finishing the final companions quest. if you DON'T, then you have to do Farkas or Vilkas first. I'm not sure which one it is at the moment, but it is somewhere here in the video comments. One of them will also be broken. After you do the one who works, then you can do the other one and yourself. It sucks they did it this way.

@DeathGhost809 Go to the Windhelm palace to purchase furniture BUT don't buy the furniture first. At the bottom of the list to decorate select "Clean up the murderer's mess". The option to buy "Clean up the murderer's mess" will disappear if you purchase the Living Room upgrade or anything else. This seems to be a scripting error, as the living room option disables the cleaning option, which does not disable itself.

guys, being a werewolf is awesome even if it wont allow you to get resting bonus it still gives you 100% resistance to disease and you can't be a vampire if you do it and also its pretty badass in terms of speed and power

@AREAxrs I'm playing on "Adept" mode and I cured vampirism but to be honest, I die easily as a Lycan, even using stoneflesh b4 I turn does little. I love the speed but I am stronger with my human char...I die too quick and it sucks Bethesda only gave 2.5mins with feed. Plus doing the "ill met by moonlight" before being a Lycan renders the ring void or it doesn;t work. I am testing this on PS3 and can't seem to get it working.

@Razorfuck83 Yup its permanent I believe unless you get the Ring of Hircine from another werewolf quest for protecting a guy who is a werewolf from Hunters. I think the Ring of Hircine allows you to become a Werewolf too. And being a Vampire is fun in my opinion but most people don't like it because you have to keep feeding to control your vampirism and if you don't feed you'll be powerful but people will attack you cause your a full vampire.

Apparently the order in which who you complete the Purity quest may matter, and there are several glitches that the wikia lists how to avoid.

I found the answer!! (if you've already beat the companion quest line)

Once you complete Glory of the dead, you go back to the companions and keep doing the radiant (repetitive) remaining companion quests (retrieve family heirloom, kill giant etc) until you get the quest 'Purity'

This quest will be given from Farkas or Vilkas to cleans them of beast blood (after you complete a radiant quest listed above from each of them.

Consult the Skyrim wikia page 'Purity'

@S13v7n I went to kill the glenmoril witches several days after completing the quest; they were there. I took their heads to ysgramor's tomb and headed to the fire; the path was clear. I tried tossing the head into the fire; nothing happened. Perhaps you'll get better results, though, I doubt it.

I took the wuuthard axe or whatever back from the statue in ysgramors tomb after curing kodlak, maybe it has to be in the statue to be able to cure?

i still have 4 glenmoril witches from that quest.

I had some major problems with curing myself, so if you have the same issues as me, hopefully this will help. Vilkus gave me the mission to cure him but then wouldn't follow me. I tried loads of ways and EVENTUALLY got him to the altar (attacking him outside Jorvaskr and running to the tomb(!!), killed his werewolf but then couldn't speak to him. After losing literally hours of gameplay I figured that you had to cure Farkas first, then Vilkus, then yourself. Makes no sense; but it works..
