nope a five string guitar would be E A D G B the B is the one that sets apart from the pattern whereas on bass the pattern stays on a regular fivestrin bass it would be B E A D G the way he has it is the top five strings on a six string

I must disagree with you about the line being too busy, I find the bass line appropriate for a pop/funk tune. However, a few of my fills towards the end of the tune may be too much for an actual commercial recording. Who cares though ? I'm not recording a big time record and music is all about having fun :) When it's time to do the bass chore and play 'responsibly' I can do that too.

Appreciate it! I'm used to playing in groups where the bass has a little more freedom like a fusion trio, which is why you hear me play a lot of intros and multiple instrument parts. Also, I thoroughly enjoy the range of a tenor bass (E A D G C.)
