If you're that desperate for an autograph - write & ask politely, like I did! These people are obviously not real fans, just chancers who'll cash-in on any 'celeb's' autograph! I got to see Alan (up very close!) in theatre in Dublin last October &, although I lost my nerve on the night, I wrote to him later to request his autograph. Not only did he oblilge, he paid excess postage costs (I'd enclosed an SAE) & I got it made out to me personally. So much more refined than all that shouting!! :-)

This makes me sick. The people asking for autographs mostly don't say please, and the ones that do are begging. They don't treat him with respect, it is obvious they just want the autographs to sell them or something... god, it actually makes me sick. If you treat him well, he'll treat you well. I met him a few months ago and everyone who asked for an autograph got one as they were polite. I had a 5-10 min conversation with him, as I was polite. He is a lovely man!

I didn't get an autograph as I don't really see the point of them, I wanted a picture to remember the amazing event but we just talked about Drama schools as I was applying then, and he gave me some great advice and said "Good luck" to me and everything! He seemed really tired but still had time for everyone.
