  • it's not working with my IOS 4.0.2, it doesn't start up when i hold my statusbar at the lockscreen. is it because it doesn't work with activator?

  • @thelostworld For a long time now Snappy uses activator for launch methods. Snappy tries to set tap hold status bar by default, but may not if you already have it assigned to something else. You may go to the activator settings and set a launch method for snappy. Also, I highly recommend upgrading to iOS 5.x if you can.

  • woulnt it be almost the same to set your camera with activator to say, triple home button click?

  • @Saviour86 No. Snappy can be launched and run without exiting your current application. Assigning a launch method to the native camera app with activator will exit your current application, and then launch the camera app. Also, Snappy is slightly faster to launch b/c it runs inside of a process that is always running (Springboard) and therefore there is no process startup time. Snappy now uses Activator for launch methods so you may assign any of its available methods.

  • This doesn't work on iPod touch 4g, lame........

  • @kb1ooo Hi, i downloaded snappy and it does not start up, it crashes and force exits on start up, I am on iOS 4.1 with an iPhone 3G.

    Thanks.

  • Good Work.!! Any news on weather this great app will be compatible with 4.2.1? I have tried CamereButtons and FastSnap, neither of them allow you access to the camera from lockscreen, although they say they do. Sad times.

  • @MrSuperFly86 Snappy is 4.2.1 compatible, though there is currently a conflict with LocationSpoofer. Please send me email to debug your issue.

  • @kb1ooo Hi i figured out what it was that was stopping me from accessing the camera from my lockscreen. I has the Passcode feature turned on. If only an app could bypass the passcode feature and access the camera it would save a hell of a lot of time.

  • @MrSuperFly86 Snappy *does* bypass the passcode. You may set Snappy to disallow library browsing from the lockscreen if it is a concern.

  • Is snappy compatible with 4.2.1?

  • @sk8t3rb0y666 Not yet. I'll know more after this weekend about how much will be involved to get it working. Follow me on twitter (kb1ooo) to stay up to date.

  • @kb1ooo Thanks, have it running fine on 4.0.1 at the moment. Will there be an update soon adding support to view photos from the app?

  • @hoopdaddy6 version 2.6 which came out 10/16 supports all features of original 3.x version.

  • @kb1ooo Sick! just updated. glad to have that feature back. Thx!

  • i'd love this on 4.1

  • @Vapourx7 It is available for 4.1 as of a couple weeks ago.

  • id love to see this come back for 4.0.1...

  • @hoopdaddy6 @huddini @FilthyShadow @bakano76 working through OS 4.1

  • really miss it in OS4!!!! -like a lot!!!!

  • Snappy is not yet compatible with 4.0, I'm working on it. Hopefully soon.

  • @kb1ooo Oh dear. I just bought it today and of course, it doesn't work. Any idea on a release date for ios4?

  • Is this suposed to work with iOS4 (JB with redsn0w)? Here is not working! (iphone 3G)

  • THIS IS JUST AWESOME!!! Apples default camera can go to hell now

  • What have you got on the bottom of the notes app?

  • Keyboard for text entry via morse code. It's called iDitDahText. See my other video where I enter text at 50wpm with it.

  • @kb1ooo, thanks for the update i love how i can record video now thanks :)

  • this is an awesome app. damn. kudos. can you make it activate by reading my mind? Thanks.

  • Is there a way to downgrade to the previous version of Snappy? I LOVED the previous versions ability to take pictures even when the iPhone screen is locked and turned off (works great in conjunction with SnapTap). The new version of Snappy removed this capability, and I am so very bummed out by it. This should be considered a feature, not a bug!

  • responded in email.

  • kb1000, could you add a vertical up-down swipe as a launch? Would be very nice...anyway keep the good work up!!!

  • That would conflict with qtweeter.

  • This app is awesome, and no, so far I've not noticed any battery drain.

Any chance you could add a video option? PLEASE!

  • does this drain battery life ?

im guessing its fast because its always running in the background

also do you know if winterboard themes use battery ?

  • yeah, i'm wondering this aswell

also, is this an application that has it's own icon in the homepage or is the only way to access it through the status bar?

  • Snappy is not exactly always running in the background. It runs inside of a process that is always running. When it is not launched, it will not use extra battery power. When it is launched, it will use about as much power as the native camera app (somewhat less if no other apps are running because it doesn't need to run an extra process).

There are now 3 methods for launch. up volume followed by quick down volume, double home tap, and the original tap and hold status bar.

  • I have SB settings installed. Does that give probs? :)

  • No. Works fine with SBSettings.

    Thanks,

    kb1ooo

  • wohoho. nice apps mr marc.

    keep up the good work

  • @kb1ooo i just realized theres no option to record video, from a 3gs, anyway on updating this in the future?

  • Working on it. Shooting for an update release Monday Dec. 14.

    Thanks,

    kb1ooo

  • will this work if u have tweeter, another app that uses access to the status bar? and are the pictures the same resolution as the native camera app??

  • you mean qTweeter? yea all that still works using this Snappy even sbsettings works fine

  • What is the sort of keyboard at 0:33 please?

  • morse code text entry keyboard called iDitDahText. Please see my other video watch?v=ZczRxuUm2zE

  • Is there a free version yet anyone?

  • wish it was not jailbreak

  • Also, does this drain the battery faster than most apps.

  • Snappy does not use battery power when it is not launched. While it is launched, it will about as much power as the native camera app (somewhat less because it runs inside of an already running application).

  • very cool. its really too bad apple doesnt allow things like this in the app store. thank god mine is jailbroke!

  • Program looks like a must-have!

  • wuts that black box type thing in the notes app??

  • iditdahtext

  • Text entry via morse code. Check out my other video where I enter text at 50wpm. watch?v=ZczRxuUm2zE

  • so that means if i swipe left to right on the status bar sbsettings will load, but if i hold it snappy will come?

  • Yes, exactly.

  • is there any lag on a 3GS?

  • no.

  • can you bring it to the Rock Store please

i dont want to install cydia

    :)

  • what was that add on in notes called P.S i purchased the app. Good for spying and taking quick pics! ;)

  • iditdahtext. Morse code text entry. check out my other video with text entry at 50wpm watch?v=ZczRxuUm2zE

  • Does this work with 3.0? This looks awesome.

  • Yes.

    Thanks,

    Marc

  • This app is awesome! Thank you, KB1ooo!

  • will this interfere with sbsettings?

  • No. Snappy will not interfere with sbsettings.

    Thanks,

    kb1ooo
