Nice job. I trust your performance final went well. I received the Villa-Lobos guitar solo works as a Christmas present from my wife. I have looked at Choros no. 1 and plan to tackle it but it is definitely going to be a challenge. Thanks for posting the video. I look forward to more videos.
Thank you for your kind words. It's full of errors, but that's a part of practicing. :) Choros no. 1 is not difficult, but it does have two or three tricky phrases that I've yet to consistently get right. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. I'm still working on them. Actually, I didn't get to play Choros at my final. I ended up playing the three pieces from Merlin's Suite del Recuerdos, and they went well (at least I think they did, I got a final grade of 'A').
Good luck on the final. I find Villa-Lobos out of my reach right now. Congrats on playing this. I hope you will post this again after your performance (if you are not too tired of playing it by then).
Thanks for the kind words, Tim. Yes, I'm already tired of it (but not sick of it). Once I start, I still have fun with it! I won't know for sure if I'll play this or the Suite del Recuerdo, yet. Performance jury is this coming Thursday, and I'll decide on the Tuesday before. I don't anticipate much "performance anxiety" because I've got to know these fellows throughout the semester, but I'm still a bit apprehensive! :)
Being tired of it probably is a good thing, you likely have all the muscle memory in place. Hope all goes smoothly. I take lessons but not as formal a process as what you are doing. Hats off to you.
That's some difficult piece of guitar music, and despite some mistakes you pulled it off quite well.

If I were more dedicated to learning and didn't have so many other interests perhaps I could learn to play a small portion as well as you!
