Be very careful of moisture build up of any kind around the electronics in the equipment. A friend of mine had a system outside, it rained hard, ruined the charge controller because moisture got into it. So be careful about making the box with the controller & inverter protected from the elements yet ventilated. Those panels are like gold so put them under lock, or hide them when your away. Thanks fro sharing, nice work.

What's the overall rating of the system? 2kw? 1.5kw? 3kw?

Also, do you just leave the panels on the stands when you're away? Are they just screwed on? When you install them on the building, what kind of security is there besides screwing into wood?

One web site said the Deka batteries recently went up in price substantially. I'm looking at Trojan 105's. Poly or mono panels?

Are you assuming this will be enough? I would think you don't need the vertical axis wind mill.
