It's not as clear cut as simply saying it is as if they are of a different species.A person's will and philosophies are more of a determinant of their success than the culture they are tossed into; nurture is a factor, but nature needs to be there to shape it; and i think the greying of culture has more to do with the direction pop culture is being pushed in (by the powers that be).

The whole point of him being black is that they orignally wanted to rebuild Dectective Crunk, an archetypal white guy hero. Therefore, it's ironic they build a black man who is a wino, and therefore ignored, even deplored, by society (and has become a wino as a result of racial prejudice possibly). It's criticising the fact that some poeple are valued over others this way, and thus hilarious the way the 'rebuilding' blows up in their face. It's simpler than what people seem to be making it.
