Let me also say stop bringing up price. That argument is a tired shitty argument. A argument that should be left up to the car manufactures for commercials and other forms of marketing. the GTR is nearly a 100k car for a nissan. While I love the gtr I am sorry it is not some sort of economical bargain for most. I would say for the majority of those who can afford GTR could easily afford to buy the exotics that its so much more affordable then, and still not complain about the price.

considering the 599 is the most powerful Ferrari made to date im not suprised with the outcome. GTR and these cars are comparable thats why Nissan made the gtr. But disregarding just straight line performance the 599 would in all probability beat a stock GTR on a track as well. those who say V12 vs 3.8TT that its a dead giveaway. How is it so? V12 somehow give the win over a big V6 with TWO turbo's. I believe in most cases you will find tghe FI car usualy ends up winning just not in this case.

The only reason why GTR has its chance at the "low speed" cornering at the track is due to AWD and short gearing, making the car very responsive and extremely sticky to the road. It's a "low speed rider", at higher speeds it just looses steam.... that's why it get beat by so many other cars. 1100 hp GTR, it is bound to break in matter of weeks. Tranny will not hold either.

@gsxrful, compare stock for stock, mod for mod. You don't compare a stock one to the modded one. There's a modded Hyundai Accent that runs 9.6 sec ET @ 146 mph. The GTR will not gain too much at high speed roll even modded due to the poor gearing arrangements and excessive weight. The P800 version could pulled by multiple bus lengths by a CCX/CCR from roll. The GTR looses its steam pretty bad at high speed. Both LP560 and 599GTB pulls a train length on a GTR from roll. GTR is a fail, sorry.

Manual is a lot more fun yes, but it does not suddenly make a car garbage. Sadly it is going more and more toward DSG boxes...will you stop driving because there are "no good cars"......

sometimes I just scratch my head as to why some people judge a car by its "straight line" performance and neglect the others. GT-R vs 599, ok.... A 6.0 liter V-12 versus a Twin Turbo 3.8 TT. It's already like a dead give away. The 599 will really win BUT to put everything in one package that is "affordable". I think the GT-R wins hands down. Why would Ferrari offer a "HGTE" package to the 599 if it handles well on the base 599? Don't ger me wrong, I'll choose a Ferrari over the GT-R anytime

The engine size is not a dead give away to a loss...else the Twin Turbo 2.9L Ferrari F40 would lose badly to both cars...which is far from the truth. As for the HGTE it's the same as the Spec-V package, both cars were already great...they just wanted to offer a little something extra.

No need to say one car is better or worse than the other, it's two cars racing that's all. Just enjoy both. :)

Its by a far marging the bets track in the world. Yes you can beat the GTR on a straight line. Beside some american "drivers" nobody else is interested in that boring stuff. I suggest anybody questioning the GT-R's ability round a track check the Nurburgring lap times. GT-R is 20 seconds faster than the 599 and only 1.5 seconds off the pace of an Enzo. FACT not opinion. Not bad for a Datsun hey ;-)

The thing is the Nissan Launches super quick and that helps give its amazing 0-60 & 1/4 mile times. But in these tests the cars are going up to over 150mph and there is no launch involved. Above 120mph the Nissan looks relatively slow

I can say now that a GT-R stock will not kill a F430 or Z06 but definetly a Viper is my guess. A 911 Turbo will be slightly somewhat faster I beleive.

Im not so sure about that. here are some tested times :

GTR : 0-60 in 3.4 / 1/4mile in 11.8secs

F430 : 0-60 in 3.6 / 1/4mile in 12secs

Z06 : 0-60 in 3.7 / 1/4mile in 11.5secs

Now i realize these are in top running conditions, but now il put viper down. since i used the base model, the original Z06, f430, and newest gtr il use the newest viper.

Viper: 0-60 in 3.5secs / 1/4mile in 11.6secs

the hennessy viper is 2.9secs, top running conditions the viper and z06 would lead the pack

I think it is a 3.8L V6 Twin Turbo. And yeah, it's impressive for a V6. If you ever get 3.3 sec it is because the Traction CTRl is of and your warranty is void. You can do that about 7-10 times then it breaks.

I'm getting a NISMO 370Z this coming year. Very nice car for the money as well. 355hp and 310 ftlbs tq 0-60 in 4.5 sec. I love that car!
