  • Feck me! Can Anyone Help? I have to have this done for Thursday! how do i make a glass roof with curved beams?

  • this would have been great with sound... There's a few things you're doing that I'm not really familiar with and the step by step doesn't cover them

  • background music please

  • @sickoslater yeah, I love those tutorials where instead of spending time to explain stuff, the creator spends his time choosing the song for the copyright infringement.

  • @SanityRestorer well he could of used audioswap or even better actually given us instructions. lol wat can happen in 3 weeks hey? i don't even use sketchup anymore

  • At 1:20 how did you smooth the circle?

  • @redlerred7 Try using the circle tool with more edges for a smoother surface !

  • @jozo314 nvm I already know

  • Finally I can make a loop-de-loop without those irritating lines!

  • OK so that explained nothing.....is there supposed to be an audio track or something?

  • what tool is that?

  • Awesome idea! Thanx!

  • I never would have thought of that, thank you!

  • no sound or no written guidelines makes it difficult to follow for the new user. :-)

  • So yesterday I downloaded and payed 22 bucks for a "smooth plug in" (I realized after I could have got it for free dammmm) but the plug in does not fix my problem.

I basically need to create a smooth round curve, like the one on this video but asw you can see it's not perfect.

    What should I do?

Is there a solution? Can I Increase the number of lines on a cylinder for example to make it look as smooth as I can?????

  • Guys I have a urgent task to accomplish and I need your help!

Here is the deal, I'm an Industrial Designer and in my last project I have a lot of curves... The only problem is that once I export the model to be rendered, the curves are not smooth but divided in lines... segment... result? =Once I apply the material on it it result broken.. not smooth...

  • Hi, great tutorial. Justo one question: in the end, how did you get it so smooth? Is it just a matter of adding more planes?

    Thanks

  • How do you remove the lines in your drawing?

  • @Putz4Ever use the arrow tool to select the line, click on edit, and "hide".

  • very good technique, never used before it but it might come in handy, thanks

  • nice, this is a very interesting technique, i never used it before. It sure will be helpfull to me. Thank you.

  • you can do it with the sandbox tool! It is faster!

  • Its just and example explaining the method of doing complex geometry, like aircraft hull etc.

  • which sketchup is this? sketchup , or sketchup pro? ( i really dont care about the number)

  • wow, you just turned a 1 minute deal into a 10 minute deal

  • a curve is defined mathemetically. so why is it made up out of 12 (or user input) faces. wouldn't the faces be irrelevant.. f.i. a triangle where one side is a curvature should still be 1 side.

  • What good is training video with no audio?

  • @durrroy God bless you for saying that. Couldnt agree more

  • No explanation is difficult to understand

  • Same question as the guy before plus when I try to scale the face, it moves my contour lines too. How do you fix that?

  • 1st, try copying something and then type /10 then hit enter :) And 2nd u should group the contour lines first (or u can make em a component) :)

  • The original rectangle was turned into a component with 'g' before it was copied out multiple times. Being a compnent keeps it from being changed.

  • 2:09 ?? how you made this auto fill?? don't undestand

  • SUPER THANKS like i've been dying just to know how to do this. thanks super! :D

  • Thnx,i really needed to Know how to do that...but id be alot better if u added a voice over or something.

  • How did you have the planes auto fill out at 2:09?

  • good.....

but if you use the "follow me" tool from the "tools" menue in sketch up you will finish it in 30 second

  • hm i have a question guys how do i modify the thing at 3:25 when the push and pulled object is like in yellow and there are those green and red squares??

  • U need to select that surface and use the "Scale" tool.

  • are u sure? how it could be with follow me?

    explain me

  • you need to draw a shape.... draw a line which you want to pull the shape (make 3d) on its path.... click on the "follow me" tool.... pull the shape (to transfer into 3d) along the line you draw earlier....

    :)

Guys search for "Follow Me" tool on youtube, you will be pleased!

  • very good, i suppose this is how they made the montain terrain?

  • Where is the sound?

  • Hi there just a quick question. When you are copying the square in the begining, how do you paste it to the other end of the block in such a straight line?

  • In step 9:

How do you smooth the surface?

    Is there a special button?

    Are you using free version?

    Please help :)

  • Thats easy just select eraser tool (hotkey - E) and "erase" the lines while holding Ctrl. You can see more hotkeys in Help->Quick Reference Card.

  • Thanks alot!!!!!!

Just did it then, work really well!!!!!

    TY

  • that was good but not very explainatory :(

  • Impressive

  • very good!

  • Brilliant!
