When you think about it, if we take the lamborhini murcielago (I know here we talk about a gallardo.) and we take th porsche 911 turbo s, the stats are very close:

0/100 kmh (0/60 mph) : L-M = 3,3secs. P-911 = 3,2 secs.

gaz : L-M 29,7 = L/100 km (60 m) P-911 = 16,7 L. (porsche is better here.)

insurance : L-M = 2 years, unlimited. P-911 4 years, 80000 km.

PRICE: L-M =450 000$!! P-911 ~250 000$

From what I see, if I had to choose between both, and pay all of it, I would take the porsche.

997 turbo pdk 500 hp needs for 1/4 mile 10.8 sec.

No other car in the 500 ho league can do this.

Turbo s pdk from standing start was ahead of a f458 after 1 kilometer race.

@dicktp I know about the 911 turbo + pdk 10.83s in 1/4 and i didn't need to check fastestlaps because i saw it on the best motoring run.

here we are not talking about a 1/4 drag race and it is way longer than that it is even longer than a 1mile considering the speeds (about 300kmh at max....) so yes if it is a 1/4 mile sure the porsche would be faster but after that the lambo would be catching up after.

I think this and the new 458 Italia are the best super cars you can buy and no, there is no debating it. The LP560-4 delivers unsurpassed build quality and just look at it; its a crazy cool Lamborghini. The 458 is also very good. It was only a couple of seconds off the all time production car lap record set by a Zonda F which costs 12 times more than the GTR. don't know about the TopGear time, but the Nurburgring time of the GTR is a bit controversial, because Nissan itself achieved it. Car magazines and even Porsche(they couldnt believe it) tried to achieve the same lap time and they never had a time that was even close to Nissan's . By the way the GTR had Semislicks for the time on the Nurburgring, the Turbo had normal street tires, everyone who ever drove a race knows the big difference.

The GTR is equipped with semi-slick tires and the 911 Turbo with street tires. If you ask me (i know you dont but im saying it anyways :P ) the tires make all the difference.

Im not saying that the GTR is a bad car, its the fastest you can get for the money, but in comparison to a 911 on the track its all about the tires the GTR has.

I have had both-2 Countachs and 2 911's. 911 is a better track car. The faster you go the more brakes and tires you use.

But you are going to spend 25k per year to run the lambo for 8 track days... E-Clutch, 2 sets of tires, brakes (that kind of power will chew up tires) , rotors etc. (8 days equal 4 weekends of racing) 911 -$5,000- tires

If you just want to run stoplights the lambo is great. Fast and sounds great. If you want hot chicks-lease them by the hour-forget the car.

Lambo is a nice car but for about $10,000 that porsche could by souped up to kick out 1,000 HP and kick the lambo's butt.
