I'm gonna have to agree with wtfdudenotcool101, this drummer is all over the place way too much, in particularl throwing Allan's timing off, for example @5:30 I can't imagine too many musicians wanting to use him if he does more of this, and if so, I can't imagine his phone ringing much.
@zoozazoot jimmy is just scary. so tasteful and wild. consummate and original bass player. though i agree with @shredreviews comments about the drummer needing to show some restraint.
@jamesedwardtheobald and if u remember alan got a lotta recognition playing with tony williams(who was known for playing loud, hard and fast).who, ironicly, is the original drummer on this song.
Okay- an opinion I will express. Not a judgment. RBJR is a bonafide monster. No question he is a great talent. I do feel that he is blowing it on occasion in the fact that he loses the time, mostly by rushing thru certain section in a blur of single stroke fury. I've seen it happen on a few of these latest AH uploads. He seems like a supercool dude and I'm sure he's fun to chill with in a band situation. Granted, Wackerman and Husband, have been playing these songs for years. I imagine RBJR wil
@zoozazoot He's not a super cool dude. He's got to be the center of attention no matter who he's playing with.
The music is secondary. it unfortunate. But that's why he gets fired from many bands. There are times when someone's soloing and he'll just stop playing after a big feel prematurely ending the players's solo.
He's an arrogant ass with monstrous ability but very little in the way of musical taste.
@wtfdudenotcool101 heh, just had to add; when i saw him play with allan at the baked potato, he was a half hour late, and allan was pissed! they played without him! when he came in he said 'i got back with her!', and i guess he was texting her with one hand while playing with the other! i gave him shit afterwards, i said 'thanks for showing up!' as i reached to shake his hand, which he promptly withdrew, but then proffered again. a real professional there, i tell ya
What the hell is that drummer thinking? Great player but some sense of restraint would have made his contribution more bearable. I'm also envious of Allan's collection of Yamaha stomp boxes in addition to his still supreme playing :-)
check out my quick little scribbled tribute to allan called 'Fred Part II', on my channel. just a little 2 minute doodle 'tone poem'...

@jamesedwardtheobald if u've ever seen him with other artists then u'd see that there are times when he's just holding down a groove.
