  • cool thats a 1st

  • i would jump on

  • Arva Industries in St Thomas ont builds most of the custom RT maintenance cars and locomotives.

RT 51 a tri mode locomotive may have replaced the one in the video.

  • @cusper1221 RT-18 the Diesel Locomotive is still used for certain things - the Tri-mode you refer to does not have the same pulling capacity as RT-18 which can drag or push an entire 6 car train that has no 3rd rail traction power, RT 18 is also used as shown to move the ballast car, and for other heavy duty jobs in the subway system

  • @cusper1221 Actually, RT-71 is the tri-mode loco. RT-71 replaced RT-12 which was also a locomotive.

  • Is that an S50 I hear?!

  • I'm guessing one of those used to be a streetcar, but had the engine removed.

  • Negative ... The Locomotive (diesel) was custom built for the TTC and the ballast car was likely as well ... It may have been built on the frame of an old H1 ... but even that is unlikely given its special nature. (the only streetcars that made it underground were used as rail grinders (i think) and i believe they have been retired)

  • Great video

  • nice work!
