  • Bruce Willis is a ghost!

  • hahaha~~

  • Who scrolls down while watching a video?

  • As far as I remember it was the top of the list of comments when I made the comment.

  • I can't actually see comments while I'm watching a video - If you can, I agree - it's a shitty thing to do =\

  • @Rosky12 A lot of people pause it at the beggining so it can load and read comments while they wait. Plus When I watch videos I can see the top 3 comments. :\

  • hmm..i never have to wait for it to load :) /just speaking from my own perspective.

  • People can be so clever, excellent!

  • As Ian dury used to sing - "There ain't 'alf been some clever bastards"

  • Hello, revjimbob. Ian Dury was a clever bastard. Even though he is, sadly, gone, he is still a clever bastard. In fact, clever bastards never die, they just go on and on. PS, inspired by this video I tried to make an origami aeroplane blindfolded and I ended up with a paper cut, so I am not a clever bastard. Cheers!

  • All true artists must suffer for their art, mate. Wear your elastoplast with pride.

  • I can make a world war II jeep with a honking horn and I don't even have thumbs!

  • People, thumbs up my awesome comment so that it doesn't get -6 =)

  • The cello was the best! He played it like a slap bass!

  • cello player plays like august rush

  • people its a guy playing the vi-o-line i have the book on how to make it and i cant even spell it lol

  • Yeah your right seeing is how they even told you it was a eletric cello look it up

  • That cellist is totally amazing.

  • this thing should have been focused around the cello, i found the origami stuff pretty boring but awesome cello

  • It's a monkey!

  • haha that's awesome

  • that is really good cello playing!

  • oh haha i thought it was some medieval guy with a sword

  • Cool music!

  • i thought that was interesting

perhaps i start some origami now

  • fking awesome cello man... total pwnage!!!!

  • I would like to see him do it again, with unfolded paper :o)

  • So?!

  • Okay, I have to be the idiot here and ask: What did he make, exactly? I can't tell.

  • At 2:45 you can just about see it's a violinist.

  • I almost couldn't tell even when he had completed it. And ValerieValirah left a note saying she can't tell what it is.

  • It's the guy who was playing the cello. The moving part of the paper is the bow and arm of the guy.

  • Its a good video for a arts festival or something to that sort, TED is about the future and amazing ideas, this is a man playing a instrument, and another man folding a prefolded oragami, cool for a different sort of thing, but TED is quite far out of there spectrum in honesty.

  • I've got to disagree with everyone who says this is the wrong sort of video for TED. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. I think this well qualifies under Entertainment and Design.

  • Wow- look at all these bitter comments! Everyone seems to have forgotten that all of these amazing talks that are being posted are born out of creative inspiration. These two presenters may not be blowing your minds, but the fact that the origami patterning technique makes it possible to fold complex designs blindfolded is incredible. Also, that cello playing was unlike any I've ever encountered and, while it may not be scientific or whatever, I'd definitely call it inspired.

  • I don't know why people aren't fond of things like these. Personally, this is the only time Iv'e seen a slap-cello style. If you were trying to enjoy the origami part instead, you need to rewatch the video.

  • It's a good thing the at TED's they fill in the super interesting stuff with useless crud like this. otherwise you might get overstimulated.

  • stupidest crap since Gallagher

  • You bet

  • super stuff you post here :)

  • "Wow. You really wail on that base!" Bruno exclaimed, "Maybe I'll stand next to you refolding paper and we could take it on the road!!!"

Rufus scratched his chin in contemplation, "Yea... I don't think anyone would pay to see that unless... Hey! Wear a blindfold!" A grin spread across his face, "They'll line up for blocks if you wear a blindfold!"

    A hem.

  • Egzactly!

  • While I usually skip over the musical acts, I'd point out that TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design; and this definitely falls into the Entertainment category.

  • lol

  • But how long would they last on the Gong Show?

  • Okay, I signed up to TED for the science/technology aspect. Being somewhat artsy myself, I usually enjoy the art/theater/sculpture topics. The cello playing was really enjoyable...

...but since when is TED a talent show? Either focus on the cello, or focus on the origami, but please don't put both in one episode and then add a blindfold to make things more exciting. Please.

  • Read the description.

  • he wasn't doing origami blindfolded. he already did the origami with his eyes open, then he unfolded it, and folded it back up blindfolded. Art is something you do as a child, appreciate as a hobby, or devote your life to in the privacy of your own home. I don't want to see your stupid "creation" until after you're dead and it's stood the test of time. Annoying pretentious idiots. You think you "feel" more than other people. You don't. Other people just realize there are more important things.

  • isn't assuming something only has value after a person is dead and after their work has stood the test of time entirely pretentious? you lose, go home.

  • I think you might want to change your username:)

  • You should change your username. Moron.

  • ....sounds like you need a hug! ^^

  • man that guys really feelin' the cello

  • Impressive work. I've been a fan of Lang since I came across Origami in Action many years ago, and a fan of TED for about a year now. The two together: fantastic.

  • Nice

  • cool
