Metallica has been the weak link in the Big 4 since the mid 80s, though they were able to put out the first and arguably one of the best thrash albums ever in "Kill Em' All". Sadly James messed up his voice so bad that he literally sounds like a choir boy up there in order to keep from throwing out his vocal chords again. Joey Belladonna is a good 3 years older than him and can still rip out a gravely scream with more punch than this.

I've been hearing a lot of shit about James Being the 'King of Downstrokes' and that is just total bullshit. James Hetfeild has the power to slow time down around him and downstroke at a normal speed making it seem like he's downstroking faster. While there is no documented proof of this it is the only logical explenation for anyone to downstroke that fast.
