elizabeth montgomery and tom posten and boris karloff were in a black-and-white horror/comedy movie called "masquerade", which can be found on youtube. in the movie, montgomery and posten make a lot of wise-crack remarks. if you see my comment, don't write any more details about the movie. someone may wish to see the movie without knowing the details ahead of time.
@ILOVEMYDOG Youre right, in this episode, she was just beginning first grade, but by the time the episode "School Days, School Daze" was telecast on March 4, 1972, she was taking an exam to see if she could skip to the second grade-
@coventrygardens I think that Samantha was trying to encourage Tabitha not to use her witchcraft to get out of every situation - but to deal with everything on a mortal level-
@christheone8773 samantha certainly protected that boy by getting tabitha to unfrog him. personally, i think it was time to have some frog legs for dinner. furthermore, i can't figure out why samantha would marry a mortal. if she had to pick a mortal, it should have been one that didn't complain about witchcraft. derwood was a real stick in the mud.
@coventrygardens THAT WAS the entire appeal behind "Bewitched" - two people who were entirely different who had fallen in love with each other - and also, it was about Samantha dealing with things on a human level without having to resort to witchcraft to get out of every situation-
@christheone8773 the contrast between derwood & samantha provided humor, & yet it made the story seem irrealistic. i can't imagine a witch in real life marrying someone like derwood, & i can't imagine someone like derwood marrying a witch. furthermore i can't see why derwood was so negative toward witchcraft. the witchcraft came in handy. imagine what that boy would have done if tabitha hadn't turned him into a frog. i think the show would be better if derwood were in favor of the witchcraft.
@coventrygardens If DARRIN were in favor of Samantha using witchcraft to get out of every situation, then the show wouldnt have lasted for eight seasons - the idea behind the show was for the Stephenses to deal with EVERY situation on a human level, then if THAT didn't work, witchcraft (at its very minimal) was used as a last resort-
@christheone8773 though i like the original story, i think it would have been better if the story was "samantha instructs tabitha and darrin in the way to cast spells properly. tabitha excells at spelling. because darrin wasn't from a witch's family, his human background makes it tough for him to do it properly. likewise aunt clara has senility, causing her spelling to go awry, much like darrin's spelling. much humor is provided by the fact that darrin's and clara's spellings often go awry."
Charlton's mother knows he did something rotten even before Samantha says anything ...she probably gets calls daily!

1164 Morning Glory Circle? In a previous episode about the artificial grass, the address was 192 Morning Glory Circle.

@beachgrad98 Yes, that episode was "How Green Was My Grass" from February 29, 1968 - the only episode where their address was different-

I love how Sam shocked that little brat for pulling Tabitha's Hair.

@MrSponge1985 Samantha was very protective of Tabitha - just an indication of what a good mother is-
christheone8773 1 year ago
@christheone8773 yea, well sometimes samantha was trying to protect people FROM tabitha. tabitha really didn't need much protection.

For real. Give her a sharp right hook, and she could be my first grade teacher, Sister Jean Marie.
