Great song. I hate to say this, but I discovered it through playing Vice City Stories and hearing it on one of the radio stations in game. Still, always been a fan of Phil Collins, solo or with Genesis. Has a good beat to it as well. Why can't music of today be as good as a lot of what was produced back then? Seriously, having actual singing talent and not just speaking the words seems to not be required anymore to have a music career.
dude, this tune was a HUGE hit in the early 80's... i couldn't have been bigger at the time. was a song that opened the door for collins/genesis and his solo career.

When Collins sings " I, I get so lonely when she's not there" ....the notes he sings the I's on remind me of Michael Jackson's chorus from Human Nature. Listen to it and tell me what ya think.
but they were short of what the band was capable of doing. No progressive time signatures or complex melodies, and Phil Collins was frequently replaced by a Drum Machine. However, I have to say that "Mama" was a good song.

Collins and Michael Jackson should work together..they're both musical geniuses. I'm sure whatever they make would turn to gold.

When Collins sings " I, I get so lonely when she's not there" ....the notes he sings the I's on remind me of Michael Jackson's chorus from Human Nature. Listen to it and tell me what ya think.

Well, they were undoubtedly catchy songs,
but they were short of what the band was capable of doing. No progressive time signatures or complex melodies, and Phil Collins was frequently replaced by a Drum Machine. However, I have to say that "Mama" was a good song.
