  • WTF!!!!!

  • Youtube's gone corporate. Fuck it.

  • Can someone just take this off the site. It is just a waste of everyones time. If they don't want to share their music, then we will just listen to other artists who will.

  • Cosa cazzo pubblichi un xideo se non c'è la possibilità di ascoltarlo? Iga0125 FUCK YOU!!

  • if you were deaf and watching this you wouldn't even realize

  • that's why they put that [NOTICE] there. ;)

  • Retarded. Why show us the video and not the audio. If you don't want to share, why not just piss off!

  • you know when i see this kind of antic it makes me want to boycott that musician's product forever out of spite. Cuz you know these guys aren't rich enough--whatever;

  • Oh lookie here..i just downloaded it for free off Shareza, now im going to make multiple recordings of it and hand it out in the downtown core to everyone who walks by and say "there's no reason to buy this song--I just gave to you--FOR FREE" Sorry guys--I guess you'll have to hock your 14 Rolls Royces. /flips Phil the bird

  • It's not right..... free culture!!!!

  • what type of video isnt allowed to have sound??? youtube may as well have deleted it.

  • haha wow, its 2009, you can ban it in a 1000 places but there is always going to be anoter source where you can still get it for free, so why bother ban it. All it does is just waste EVERYONES time. corporate douchebags.

  • Yeah this sucks, i been seein this alot, man this an original too, 2006,

  • alot of songs(and\or videos) are not copyrighted, even from popular groups.

  • Yeah, fuck them idiots

  • thats wierd they dont want you to listen to thier music? whatever you say lol

  • fuck viacom!

  • Wtf? Stupid copyright BS.

  • Oh God i'm ten years old again! Oh God i'm fucking old!

  • You and me both, brother.

  • flouride helps create a protective layer on your teeth for a little while, its to keep your teeth clean after you eat.

    WOO COLINS

  • are you stupid? live your life to the fullest, dont worry about dying or anything stupid like that. lifes too short.

  • Wow, ludabrook...there is some amazing brain activity going on in that thing you call a head..

  • Sorry to disappoint guys, but the fluoride does improve one's dental health. No reason to be paranoid.

  • your not disappointing anyone but the ones who dont brush there teeth or dont have good teeth or just doesnt go to the dentist. lol. like the retard above you ^ ^

  • I had this played at my wedding. Classic.

  • awesome tune

  • Collins is often dissed, but it's often forgotten what a decent drummer he is.

  • Phil looks in this video like twenty years old and think his almost thirty. Genesis rocks!

  • Traveler1612, so we are putting fluoride in our water to make the music "not as good"? I have heard some stupid shit in my time, but you win!

  • alucard624 - To answer your question, 'Why the music of today not as good?", is because of the FLUORIDE in the water...

It supresses your PINEAL GLAND, which is located in your brain at the top of your spine......

That's where CREATIVE THOUGHT comes from....

....and that's why there is a LACK OF CREATIVE THOUGHT now....

(Fluoride does NOTHING for your teeth - countries without it have the exact same dental results...)

    ....look it up...

  • Great song. I hate to say this, but I discovered it through playing Vice City Stories and hearing it on one of the radio stations in game. Still, always been a fan of Phil Collins, solo or with Genesis. Has a good beat to it as well. Why can't music of today be as good as a lot of what was produced back then? Seriously, having actual singing talent and not just speaking the words seems to not be required anymore to have a music career.

  • Genius.

  • "I can see another face" ~~the lp has the lyrics

  • i think he's singing "i can see another place", not sure though.

  • So many Gabriel era fans hate this stuff. This is my favorite phase. Post-Gabriel (though I love Gabriel) and pre-totally commercial.

  • One of my favorite Genesis/Phil Collins tunes, why this wasn't a bigger hit is beyond me.

  • dude, this tune was a HUGE hit in the early 80's... i couldn't have been bigger at the time. was a song that opened the door for collins/genesis and his solo career.

  • this song sure beats the hell out of that "Su Su Sudio" tune.

  • classic

  • wot a classis...they dont make them like this anymore...a pleasure to be there

  • at 0:24, Banks keyboards L to R:

Roland Vocoder Plus, ARP Quadra, Hammond T102, Prophet 5, Yamaha CP-70B (playing)

    Excellent video

  • one of my favorites... of all time.

  • this is the best genesis song by far!

  • "Turn it on...Turn it on,turn it on again"

    Great tune.

Now,I need a man to "turn me on again".lol

  • Something tells me you are a big genesis fan.

  • absolutly great song i love going back and listening to songs that havent herd in ages. This is a great one.

  • I saw Phill Collins live in Arnhem (The Netherlands) 3 years ago. It was amazing. But the Genesis songs are awesome too!

    They never bore me.

  • Phil colins is the badest motherfucker on the face of the planet! He can drop kick all ya fools out there!

  • I heard this on my flight back from Mexico to L.A. yesterday and I realized once again that Genesis is the best!

  • This is a cool song

  • 2:44 lol

  • I can't believe this is the best part of 30 years old...i wasn't even born when this was recorded but it's awesome...

amazing how some music transcends change and generations.

  • Does that mean it's good?? You missed some good tunes my friend.

  • I know.

  • An IQ test is only taken by those who require a piece of paper supporting their claims of intellect.

  • This riff is so cool!

  • I just wanted to make a similar comment in the same childish way; My dad is bigger than yours.

  • No way Mickey,You sucked it off....LOL

  • Another comment someone didn't get. Dumb american? Possibly...

  • Why are they bickering like fools on the comment list of a Genesis song. Genesis would be very upset with you. >:(>

  • I'd think other items on the agenda would come first.

  • great song alwais.

  • Great song

  • It's funny how in just about every tour they would close with this song, yet on their last tour it was the opener.

  • although i agree with you, id rather be phil too, but Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel is still a good song

  • To Zaxxon2008 and buttfartmuhgee:

Heh, I do like Phil Collin's voice a little more, but maybe it's because I'm so used to it.

  • i want to see these on my dying day. hopefully pete will make an appearance too

  • Live versions are true to the original recordings. The 5 times I saw them they put on one hell of a show

  • turn it oooooooon, turn it on again

    the Big 80's

  • there is not enough words to explain the awesomness and electricness of this era, it brings me to tears

  • its genesis, its excellent music, leave it at that

  • luke, this is pop prog, honestly. How many other pop songs are in 13/4?

  • I think they used this on a GMC commercial during football season last year...

  • I heard this fantastic song so many times back then but now for the first time I hear that the end , from 3:09 onwards has the same sound as Yes in those days, another great band.

  • En este disco o long play como se recuerda en aquella epoca demuestra que tras la ida de P. Gabriel .., P. Collins se pone a Genesis " en el hombro " y sacan este hit .., a parte es un claro recuerdo de mi adolescencia ...

  • Ida.. the... he... i don't know what to say... they're so damn good!!!

  • uk again

  • who in their right mind would want to? ew

  • Synchopé rhythm

  • I shall the syncope harmony

  • We were so young back than. GOOD TIMES!

  • A lot of the prog-rock is pretty pretentious though. I admire the Peter Gabriel version of Genesis, but admittedly enjoy the Phil Collins more (Patrick Bateman would be proud of this assessment)

  • Love the minor chord shit.

  • Good band.

  • I used to have a major crush on the keyboard player. He always looked so mellow and cool.

  • Agree. What a cutie! And Phil Collins was also very hot in his younger years. Nowadays maybe not.

  • I think the fact that they are so talented makes them really good looking. Phil is an OK looking guy but if he sang to me I would probably have a coniption fit. lol!

  • Oh yeah, their talents give them lots of extra charm!

  • For sure! And the song was excellent too! They are fantastic!

  • Define prog rock and who's talking about Floyd?! Calm down dude, I'm just chewing the fat.

  • Turn it on turn it on again

  • hahahaha

  • one of the most beautiful songs of all time!!! I love genesis!!!

  • End of University 1980 - graduation dinner. Black tie etc. I'd carried a huge torch for a girl since my freshman year. She turned up looking beautiful - but she had a cocky merchant banker on her arm and she was distinctly cool. I felt like a real loser and drove home at 2am along an empty highway at about 90mph. This was on the radio - that line 'down on my luck again' burnt deep.

I never spoke to her again.

  • I am a pretty well-schooled musician, but what a weird song. Rhythmically it's a labyrinth. Mad to think that it was a single back in the day. I only watched it because this was the favourite song of my best friend in school, and I have never listened to it until now.

  • That's prog rock for you, crazy time sigs poly rhythms et al. I love it as a drummer, proper challenge.

  • DAMN! Phil Collins looks young in this video! Wasn't he like 29 when they made that song?

  • They where setting new standards for music

  • lolol it's phil collins

  • Genesis are one of my top 10 of the 80s.

Awesome tune, thanks for postin. \m/

  • Classic!!! Great music and vocals. These guys exemplify what a great band is all about. Pure talent.

  • aah...moog taurus pedals

  • yeah it is almost the same now with the music but if you notice what was happening in the world in the eighties we were getting back from NAM, and music always suffers during and after wars cause of many factors. 2 many to list

  • There will never be another Genesis. These guys could play any kind of music, and they did it better than anyone else. This is a great video. They were all so young here.

  • This great song reached #58 in 1980 (US Billboard Hot 100).

  • „¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨

¨°º¤ø„¸ Phil Collins ¸„ø¤º°¨copy and paste

    ¸„ø¤º°¨ is legend``°º¤ø„¸if u think

¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º°¨¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø Phil Collins is a legend

  • their best methinks

  • I would agree. There are so many though. This one stands out though.

  • i hate it when people say all post Peter Genesis is rubbish but I don't think any Phil stuff can ever really be their best

  • Correct.

  • Phil Collins way of his league? Bullsh*t man...

  • fuck off, troll

  • PHIL COLLINS IS A LEGEND!!! NUFF SAID

  • This song has a great beat. It also shows off some of Phil's rock-and-roll voice. Good song.

    4 stars; My Favorites

  • GREAT!

  • Brilliant song this, i like the live version on the album ' 3 sides live ' It just seems to be one of them songs that should only be listened to in a live format....Turn it on!!!

  • Yeah, I LOVE that version...at the end Phil Collins's just going "Turn it on, turn it on, turniton turniton turnitonturnitonturnitonturnitonturniton!!!" until I find myself shocked that his head doesn't explode at the end of it. Great music...They don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • yeah we do

  • not usually into this type a music... but this song flippin' rocks!

  • great song, i really like the vocals on "I can show you, i can show you some of the people in my life"

  • no one my age that i know of likes genesis lol. doesn't stop me playing them uber loud =p

  • how old are ya, im 16 and i fuckin love em!!!!

  • 17 lol i win =]

  • lol well im 17 in a few weeks but yeah you still win :(

  • 16 here and obsessed with genesis

  • I remember when this came out back in 1980 (I was age 19). I thought: genius: it's still Genesis (odd time signatures and wonderful sounds and harmonies) but they brought it to the 1980s and with a strong presence. And Phil started to sound aggressive while mainting his precious 'silver throated' voice. Treasure!

  • the eighties when music was music. none of this hip hop and rap rubbish

  • As much as I have heard this live and have tried to seen them as much as I can live (being 35 it has been hard) nothing compares to this song off the studio version. Why? I do not know. This song has never sounded as good studio as it ever has live. I am not sure why cause usually this band smokes live just not this song.

  • why Phil Collins isnt African American

  • I was born in 89, so I couldn't experience the 80's. And yet, why listen to most of today's crap when you can listen to some of this amazing music? I mean, I drive through my campus with my windows down and I blast this song.

  • Classic man, just classic.

  • I WANT MY MTV BACK

  • I am only 29, but I remember Genisis when I was growing up. I dont remember this song, but I love it. My friends totally talk shit to me. lol

  • pure genious plain and simple

  • GREAT!!! ...AND PHIL WITH HAIR! :)

  • Did the 70's or the 80's have better music than today?....bit of a no-brainer isn't it...

  • Is there any doubt about that?

  • Do they make music today??

  • This is my absolute favorite Genesis song.....it is from the beginning days. I was a teen and what in the world happen to this kind of music anyway and why don't we get songs of this quality? All of today's music is canned.....we are starved for the real thing again!

  • Yep I love American Psycho too, ditto this song.

  • This IS my favorite song by Genesis. Love it.

  • Go and annoy someone else.

  • I love this group!

  • This is truely a fantastic song by a fantsatic band - Genesis, Phil, in his own right is a true legend.

  • Great song! Phil looks really skinny :/

  • He was burning a lot of calories in those days, lots of gigs, drumming is hard work.

  • wonderful song - i love it -

  • Wow. Phil Collins was young once.

  • Great song. The - youngish - Phil Collins resembles Kurt Cobain both facially and vocally. Collins's sandpaper rasp on this is quite Cobain-like.

  • No it isnt

  • Yes logomO it actually is a great song, you need to learn to enjoy Genesis immediately so you can stop missing out on some of the greatest music ever made.

  • Dude I want a hawaiian shirt like Phil Collins now. it looks badass!

  • Possibly the best track of 1980. Thanks for uploading it.

  • I agree! Been a big Genesis fan, ever since the relese of there 1980 album "DUKE".Before that I really dident understand their work, "to artsy to Intellectual". It was on DUKE where Phil Collins presence became more apparent. "I think invisible touch is the groups most undisputed masterpiece, its an epic meditation, unintangibility, at the same time it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums".

  • Bella musica e bei anni 80

  • pearl jam would do good covering this

eddie's voice just seems to fit with phil's raspyness

  • OK, let's all calm down..because I don't like things out of control...so we all calm down..

  • i looked up billy mitchell from eastenders and you're right they got some similarities going. I think its probably their face shape.

  • Collins and Michael Jackson should work together..they're both musical geniuses. I'm sure whatever they make would turn to gold.

  • When Collins sings " I, I get so lonely when she's not there" ....the notes he sings the I's on remind me of Michael Jackson's chorus from Human Nature. Listen to it and tell me what ya think.

  • Genesis III

  • Well, they were undoubtedly catchy songs,

but they were short of what the band was capable of doing. No progressive time signatures or complex melodies, and Phil Collins was frequently replaced by a Drum Machine. However, I have to say that "Mama" was a good song.
