I'm currently going to an Orthodox Church (not charismated yet, though) and I just got out of a Charismatic church, with a similar youth group kinda setup as this. Oddly, I recognized two of the songs from this video from my old nondenominational Charismatic church. It was just so...weird, watching this video, on many many levels.

This kind of liturgy may not be to everyone's liking, but one can't deny that many young people do not attend mass not because the thirst for God isn't there but because they find mass, to put it very bluntly, "boring". Jesus' first miracle was changing water into wine, in a festive setting: the wedding of Cana.
@Busikorage It's not modernism by the way, it's just an attempt to understand what the Gospel says. Jesus being the Emmanuel, Emmanuel means "God with us". And the mystery of the Incarnation means that God has taken up the human condition in order to be close to his people. And that includes the young, by the way. Actually, in the states at least, the increased accessibility of the EF Mass (TLM) has had it's biggest impact among the "young" people who you seem to think would find it "boring".
As for this "rock concert", one day such nonsense will be put back where is belongs; the parish hall (or a garbage bin).

The wedding of Cana is interpreted by the Church as announcing Christ's sacrifice on the cross, and thus the mystery of the Eucharist, as indicated by the changing of water into wine and Mary's presence both in Cana and at the Cross. The Gospels show us that Jesus, and thus God, made Himself present where people least expected him to be: with prostitutes, sinners, children, people who did not follow jewish religion well. As the Gospel also says, He did not come to judge but to save.

This kind of liturgy may not be to everyone's liking, but one can't deny that many young people do not attend mass not because the thirst for God isn't there but because they find mass, to put it very bluntly, "boring". Even if mass isn't intended to be a "show", one has to think about the necessity to find ways to reach out to people who for different reasons are far away from the Church. Jesus' first miracle was changing water into wine, in a festive setting: the wedding of Cana.

@Busikorage It's not modernism by the way, it's just an attempt to understand what the Gospel says. Jesus being the Emmanuel, Emmanuel means "God with us". And the mystery of the Incarnation means that God has taken up the human condition in order to be close to his people. And that includes the young, by the way. Jesus hasn't condemned the people he has lived with unlike the pharisees and many people who are part of the Church and who go about judging anyone who doesn't think the way they do.

As much as I love the Cardinal, who is an amazing gift to the Lord's Church, this video makes me sad. I am not goign to try to convince anyone of anything, but there is sometihing to be said for maintinging the liturgy as handed down. And no, I am not condeming anyone, just finding all of this very curious.

Christ is not present because you say He is not present, do tell me SanJuana when you started speaking for the entire Roman Catholic Church and for Christ Himself. BECAUSE someone does something you don't like in the Church you automatically dismiss it and call it against God, the Cardinal is not harming anyone, he is bringing people to Christ in a different way.

You are to decide for God whether or not His Kingdom is present during the Holy Mass, under canon law prescripts this mass is valid and therefore the more you insult it, the more you insult Christ, because HE IS PRESENT!

This is a Charismatic Mass which has been blessed by the Last four Popes to date! JPII had World Youth day Masses like this! @andrzejnher4eva No I have always held fondness with My Church as a teen as they did not do anything contrary to scripture. everyone who was either a baptized catholic or born again was aloud to receive Communion. I have made this quite clear from the Beginning I am in full support or the Charismatic Movement as it is the Move of God's Spirit, you are not born again and thus do not like this! Stop twisting my words!

I receive my charisms whenever I show reverence the real presence of Christ.

This is horrid. Light shows do not belong on the altar. This isn't adapting to contemporary customs, this is far beyond that and overboard. None of this belongs in a Catholic mass. And the fact that a CARDINAL is presiding....this is like, blasphemous.
