Sure, there were some dumber moments in Shadowgate which might make you want to do that, but still. I'm sure most people are smarter than to set their face on fire or jump into a well.

0:07 - You'd think a normal person wouldn't put up a torch right next to his face. Not to mention (if I recall correctly) you get 2 different warnings that it will be bad if you keep doing that.

0:20 - I know it happens a lot in video games, but who would be that dumb to pass an unstable bridge?

0:29 - I admit, that one was cheap.

0:38,0:47 - What. The hell.

0:55 - What, you expect the game to praise you for lighting the room you just cooled off on fire?

Shadowgate did have NUMEROUS deaths, and several of them are cheap (like the room with three identical mirrors, two of which just happen to be ludicrous death traps).

But the majority of the ones shown here are either Use (Dangerous Object) on Self, or "Jump Into Pit." Those have common sense results, not cheap ones. :)

Except that it seems like adventure games have two ways of parsing Use X on Self. Sometimes it's suicide, sometimes it's equipping. Sometimes you never know until you try it. Fortunately, in this case it's a pretty recoverable death.

Saying "You thrust the [OBJECT]" would be more logically, but to keep with Fanasty games, they say "You thrust [OBJECT]"
