He says they made $50 million and $2.7 million to welfare/charities = $47m profit. They give a vast amount deal more in free meals, bibles, helping families and what about salaries, buildings, CD recordings, concerts, travel - YOU THINK THAT ALL COSTS ZIP BRO? They help people on the street, & run rehab centres in multiple places.
i attended this church for many years. i grew up in it and recently my parents went through a divorce. hillsong says they are there for people when they are in need yet they kicked my mum out. its all a big concert. not a church.

Hi Tiny. This guy isn't giving any full stats - but do look up the full account. Hillsong are giving out almost every service, most concerts are totally free, they give away hundreds of bibles each week, they have paid and volunteer workers that all they do is give. They have sold over 50 gold and platinum records that all were taxed. They do much more with more money and have churches in NY, London, Kiev, Paris, Germany etc. This guys account has none of that - its all rubbish.

Hillsong unfortunately is nothing but an extensions of the For-Profit Evangelism that started in the United States. It is a contagious style of worship that I believe is spiritually harmful. Evangelical megachurches do good things and have good music and entertainment, but they do not provide good doctrinal education or spiritual fulfillment. I don't understand how people donate and tithe to organizations like these.

i love hillsong .... my current church has 600 members and their income is about 1.5 mil of which 1.2 mil is for daily operations such as...... mortgage, heating(winter) cooling(summer)lighting, water, a few vehicles, cleaning, down to staplers and computers.... thats alot of money on upkeep..... now add ministries. speakers, helping the poor,,,, whats left....... i say i should be helping them out more...... going to go buy 2 more cds.....

I think you should attend an Accountancy Class. If your 'bottom line' is $47 million even if you pay tax which the ATO demands @50%+ which would be $23.5 million; your books are realising a very healthy profit!(gross understatement) But unlike the rest of us Hillsong doesn't pay tax; so they clear the cool $47 million. It is incredibly important for Christians to world over to unite in condemnation of Hillsong. It's got nothing to do with boredom, and everything to do with Hillsong twisting and distorting the message of Jesus Christ. Any Christian who attends or supports Hillsong should do their research. You may not agree with Hillsong, or other churches even, but it pays to know them before you judge them. This is my personal experience, ignorance doesn't pay off!!

Hillsong use contempary mediums to reach young people who are needing a spiritual conection, but use them in a way(like the emotionally charged rock style music) that is almost brain washing. They get so high on the music and atmosphere in the sessions that they give them selves over to the church. The leaders are almost viewed as idols and its all about the numbers(of followers) and the Hillsong empire.
The bible may have been spiritually inspired, but it was man who interpreded that inspiration with the very limited awareness that humanity had back then.
The bible views god as a vengeful judgmental god, that is not god, that is man. The men who wrote this had nothing else to base god on but only what they knew. Spiritual awareness is a evolution, not a doctrine set by man. It shows a lot about how society was back then, but very little about god.
Please, please, please do some better investigation. If you'd just look a bit harder and put your bizzare bias aside for just a second, then you'd see a wonderful church filled with awesome, genuine, sincere lovers of Christ. Thanks.
In my experience "awesome" is one of those words that is used instead of an actual adjective of articulation, required when there is a gap in reason as to why someone could possibly support whatever any institutionalized religion is trying to achieve.
I believe that the church is within you and all that you do for the good of man..I don't believe that you need to build buildings and meet every Sunday in this building built to worship our Lord or that he needs your money. It is people(the poor,the sick,the helpless) that need your help which is what Jesus was about....get back to basics everyone.

He says they made $50 million and $2.7 million to welfare/charities = $47m profit. Hi Tiny. This guy isn't giving any full stats - but do look up the full account. Hillsong are giving out almost every service, most concerts are totally free, they give away hundreds of bibles each week, they have paid and volunteer workers that all they do is give. They have sold over 50 gold and platinum records that all were taxed. They do much more with more money and have churches in NY, London, Kiev, Paris, Germany etc. This guys account has none of that - its all rubbish.

Hillsong unfortunately is nothing but an extensions of the For-Profit Evangelism that started in the United States. It is a contagious style of worship that I believe is spiritually harmful. Evangelical megachurches do good things and have good music and entertainment, but they do not provide good doctrinal education or spiritual fulfillment. I don't understand how people donate and tithe to organizations like these.

i love hillsong .... my current church has 600 members and their income is about 1.5 mil of which 1.2 mil is for daily operations such as...... mortgage, heating(winter) cooling(summer)lighting, water, a few vehicles, cleaning, down to staplers and computers.... thats alot of money on upkeep..... now add ministries. speakers, helping the poor,,,, whats left....... i say i should be helping them out more...... going to go buy 2 more cds.....

If you are a member of the church, you can ask for and receive a financial statement for the previous financial year, so you can do the maths yourself!! I don't know everything about Hillsong, but I have done quite a bit of research about Joel Houston and the music ministry....I personally believe that God can use anything he wants, and he has definately used Hillsong music to minister to me. The bible says "Touch ye not God's annointed".. if they are wrong, God will judge them....

That is called discernment. I also understand that the bible certainly doesn't teach bashing someone on a public forum. I'm not defending these guys at all.. just saying that their music has been used in many GREAT ways. I choose not to judge them... I too have flaws and quite certain you do too.

I don't understand why people are wasting so much time fighting about this, when to be honest, we should be spending more time trying t advance the Kingdom of God in general. Lets stop arguing about things we have no control over.. If Hillsong aren't doing the right thing, we have no right to judge them, their time will come when before God they'll be accountable.. And so will ours, and how will we explain to God that we spent time putting down the house of God?

I think you should attend an Accountancy Class. If your 'bottom line' is $47 million even if you pay tax which the ATO demands @50%+ which would be $23.5 million; your books are realising a very healthy profit!(gross understatement) But unlike the rest of us Hillsong doesn't pay tax; so they clear the cool $47 million. Trust me,the accountants at Halliburton,McDonalds,Rio Tinto and Montsanto would open up champagne bottles at that figure. In fact I want to buy shares in Hillsong.

It is incredibly important for Christians to world over to unite in condemnation of Hillsong. It's got nothing to do with boredom, and everything to do with Hillsong twisting and distorting the message of Jesus Christ. Any Christian who attends or supports Hillsong should do their research. Study the word of God honestly and continued support of Hillsong becomes impossible.

You obviously don't know how much of a fiscal burden there is to run a church that size. Their yearly conferences, yearly recordings and events all cost money. Even a church with a hundred or so members can spend over a quarter of a million dollars a year in just maintaining a working ministry...

$47mil didn't go to the Senior Pasters. It went to the church ACCOUNT. All pasters have fixed salary they receive from there. The facility also cost to run. Music and conference projects cost more. Church planting of over 1000 worldwide each year cost lots. Do you think all of company profit goes to CEO? Hello? Do you think God gives money to people so that they learn to be lazy? Im from London I never used to have a problem with hillsong untill one day I desperately wanted to be in church and there was a hillsong conference at the excel I called up for a ticket and was told there was a fee of £15.00 for the week can someone please explain to me whats going on with these so called leaders I know churches that charge for evangelism training! Hillsong use contempary mediums to reach young people who are needing a spiritual conection, but use them in a way(like the emotionally charged rock style music) that is almost brain washing. They get so high on the music and atmosphere in the sessions that they give them selves over to the church. The leaders are almost viewed as idols and its all about the numbers(of followers) and the Hillsong empire.

The bible may have been spiritually inspired, but it was man who interpreded that inspiration with the very limited awareness that humanity had back then.
The bible views god as a vengeful judgmental god, that is not god, that is man. The men who wrote this had nothing else to base god on but only what they knew. Spiritual awareness is a evolution, not a doctrine set by man. It shows a lot about how society was back then, but very little about god.

I believe that the church is within you and all that you do for the good of man..I don't believe that you need to build buildings and meet every Sunday in this building built to worship our Lord or that he needs your money. It is people(the poor,the sick,the helpless) that need your help which is what Jesus was about....get back to basics everyone.
