  • i wish my local machine shop had one of these

  • what, no beehive springs?

  • Typically, how long will you run an engine on the Simtest machine?

  • 20-60 minutes

  • it's just to break in the engine under very low stress and heat conditions

  • I believe if you fully balance and blueprint a engine then run it on a low stress break in you can get 350,000 miles out of an engine easily

  • what that engine from?

  • Yeah I think that's the real reason it for break in and testing oil pressure. You don't need 50-60 turns to check if something hits, catches or grinds.

  • wats the point of simtesting? dont get wat its for

  • Make sure nothing hits or theres no catches mis grinding etc. before its got combustion I'd think.

When I rebuilt engines I'd turn them many times over often 50-60 times by hand with ratchet just to check them I'd imagine you should do a couple of revolutions before you put it on something mechanical like this

But in general this is much easier and it test it much more.

Also it dropped amps it means the engine is turning easier so it breaks it in loosens everything up to avoid failure

  • thanks alot
