  • Do you mind not putting people to sleep while your teaching???

  • so is it Open G or half step down? It can't be both

  • @P1ayD0h its open g down half a step, which means its open g flat (or f sharp, whatever you want to call it)

  • Great lesson! Thanks!

  • im 11 and im in this awesome band called G Double H!

  • thats just plain awesome

  • @ESPJACKSONDEAN C# means 1/2 step up from C, Db means 1/2 step down from D...if you look at your guitar you will see that only one bar is between C and D which means its the same.

  • Soo dam har song :(

  • is that a GSA60 Ibanez?

  • Ahhhhhh open g tuning, no wonder I was thinking 'wtf this doesn't sound right' lol

  • dude i need you to put a video teaching how to play Rise today of Alter BRidge...I've seen your "in loving memory lesson video" I learned the song because of your video...now I want to learn Rise today and I think you're the one to teach me..thanks dude, long live Alter Bridge!

  • really clear explanation, nice job ! =)

  • Hey, thanks for this lesson. Its great. But, what would be the chords for the verse and so on? Everything i've found on youtube is the wrong tuning. If you could just tell me what the verse chord finger placements are, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

  • how do you play the chords to this song, all the tabs seem to be wrong..please do a tutorial on that for this song :(

  • Nice tutorial dude! Thanks

  • nice to see, how you take your time :)

  • It not open guys, he already said.

    C#F#C#F#A#C#

  • @viruspt hey dude is c# the same as Db??? whts the relation

  • @ESPJACKSONDEAN yeah, they are the same!

  • Good play! Chek mine out!

  • I have the One Day Remains tab book and its in this tuning.

  • i love your guitar

  • is that an Ibanez GSA60 guitar?

    nice tut btw

  • is it open g???

  • i play it in stndrd

  • wrong tuning

  • well no cuz 1) it works and 2) i have seen real tabs that use this tuning

  • you should show how each string sounds for people who don't know the names of tunnings. Like me. =)

  • I love ur voice for some reason, is that wierd? lol

Thanks for the tutorial but unfortunately I'm hopeless, oh welll its not the end of the world :)

  • whats your deal dude?

  • needs to be broken down more, i followed it up to the, we have this so far part, and then just got lost

  • ohh oohh i can play it i can play it sweet I CAN PLAY IT!!!

  • nice job. It's a rarity to find a 99% accurate instructional video. I've been dying to learn this intro. Thanks

  • ohthanks....i hadn't thought about that .... now i unde5rstand.. thanks again

  • anyway.. i'm just trying to get to know how the hell did you learn this song !? did you use the guitar pro tab you posted the link of ?? cause in that GP tab the tuning is as i mentioned too hehe... or did you see a text tab which said "open G tuning" and learned it that way ??

  • Look on a keyboard. C# = Db or C sharp = D flat

They are the same tuning. If you don't have a guitar tuner than you should consider buying one. They are very useful.

  • or you could just download one, for example ap guitar tunner

  • my GP tab says it's c# f# c# f# a# c# tuning.... if it is that tuning... got any ideas on how to pass esaily from standard to that tuning ???? and if it's the tuning in this vid (open G) then it's best i learn it in that tuning right ???so it's easier to tune down.... thanks anyway... hope you reply...

  • same thing dumbass

  • yeah.... a year ago i was a total beginner trying to learn an intermediate song and i didn´t even realize it was the same tuning....

  • is this standard G?

  • This would be Open G If it was not tuned down 1/2 step.

  • In your video description when you name the strings (Db etc.) you seem to miss 1?

And I also thought it was tuned down 1 1/2 step, not just 1/2 step, that would make it Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb doesn't it? well I could be wrong anyway, not good with notes -,-

  • the strings from low to high are Db-Gb-Db-Gb-Bb-Db

  • does Mark use his finger to play it?

  • yes

  • Though u have played well ...try checking your tabs ... they sound a bit diff than the original 1s .. and plz lemme know frm which web site did you get it ..

  • I have the Hal Leonard book. There are now links to the tabs in the "About This Video" section.

  • hhhhhhhhhhh

  • hhhhhhhhhhh

  • awsome thank you :)

  • awsome thanks man :)

  • thanks man i just didn't know how to play the hammer from 2nd to fourth at 3th string and then pull of from 4th to 2nd i used to do a hammer and pull of from 4th to 4th i mean 2 4 4 2 by pulling the string just once and it didn't sound well, i don't know if you understood me but thanks a lot man
