You have a beautiful voice, with the right vocal weight for this piece! As for your hands, I have the same problem, but I've found it helps to get a word-for-word translation of the lyrics (not the poetic translation under the text) and make sure that each hand motion fits the word and not just the music. In other words, don't move your hands unless the music AND lyrics MAKE you bc of the passion. I've sung this song, and it's hard to get the feeling across. Beautiful job though! Very lovely! :)
Lovely voice! When I first sang this piece I thought it was about a humingbird....then my coach told me otherwise! The French love their dirty little songs.
@hocbes Look/listen very closely to the piano part and then look at the text that goes along with it. I can tell you no more. The rest is for you. Seek the score of Le Colibri....and read the text....and play the piano part and decide for yourself the interpretation. I'm not French, but I adore the French people, the wine, the music, the language and most of all the food!
I'm a young french singer and i'm very require with my voice and voice of the orthers. For me, all has to be perfect and touching. All has to be executed with a perfect voice technic. Well, congratulations for your very good french and for your beautiful and touching voice. I invite you to continue because you have talent. Have a nice day !
for me your busy hands are ok! it looks so natural on you! what matters is your singing which is beautiful by the way. it surprised me so much given you are so young. hands make you more expressiv. this way you dont look like a floating singing head. don't never lose your own personality to be another boring tenor, we have thousands of them yet. thank you very much. I hope you will keep posting more of these.
your singing is great. hands are too busy, takes away from the performance. your face and eyes are better tools for expression, after all, that's where the connection to your listeners should be. eyes are key.
i would suggest never moving your hands unless you are evoked by the emotion within the text. they should, however, always remain open to allow your listeners to get closer and connect with you. a closed fist or inward positioning is not unlike singing from behind a door.

Fine job, young tenor! Fantastic tone quality and fine resonance. You seem to have an excellent understanding of pitch. Also, great job of really expressing this song; giving it meaning. Well done!

@baritonebynight It IS about a hummingbird ! What do you think ? I am French and can see no double-entendre whatsoever in this text ... :-))

Great singing, nothingto say about that. But ty to pronounce more especially in French mélodies, where the text is really important !

Hand movement is definitely my weak point. I'm still working on it

@zebmcl I don't think hand movements are an issue. After all just watch the great Carreras!
