I also played the C16 version. It didn't actually look like this, the background screen was white and the buildings looked red. The programming behind it was pretty simple, the skyscrapers were actually made out of keyboard characters and the memory blocks occupied were converted to blocks of the buildings you see.
My mum and dad got me a C16 for Christmas (yeah...16 bit) that also came with Blitz (Just Blitz...I think it had no 'Super' in the title as it was 16 bit, but looked almost identical)...and the pair of them got massively addicted to it. I swear I couldn't get near my own Christmas present for weeks/months! I'm still traumatised even now and I'm 39! :(

@slitheen Sorry, the C16 was 8 bit and had 16K of memory :)
