I had the pleasure of working with Graham Central Station in 1975. It was only over a weekend but a true Rock & Soul Experience. All band members were very generous. Sorry Willie 4 rolling joints on your snar drum. : ) After the gig in Long Beach, Roadied up the equipment, headed North on I-5 at 2 AM. Got stuck in the Snow in San Bernadino Mtns. w/ NO CHAINS. Had to wait for band members to bring us chains. Made it to their next gig @ Hayward High School at 10:30 PM.

With that said Graham to my knowledge was not a church musican but his first major group mates Sly,Freddie and Rose Stone were church musicans. It just rubbed off. But they used riffs that are used in the Black church. Alot of Funk bands did that back then.
