  • it falls easily over if you kick it in the side, it has no muscles. :I

  • That is brillian!!!

  • I walk diferent!

  • Reminds me of an AT walker.......

  • SO I GUESS WHERE ALL GONA DIE ..bouto go watch terminator for some tips

  • the weights look like speakers making this a walking music video party machine

  • So... how long until we get Gekkos?

  • more like a AT-AT walker

  • right seriously, whats the fucking point of building robots that are like humans? look at humans...their more advanced than robots already, scientists are wasting million of $/£ on these pointless machines that will eventually put people out of jobs and be used for war. fuck this.

  • @linx2256 It's not about why, it's about why not. -Cave Johnson

  • I think it walks like the puppets in Thunderbirds xD

  • Didn't these guys watch Terminator. Arnold is old now.. so I'd be careful with that shiat!

  • once a decent power source is invented like a micro nuclear reactor, then these things can be a 24 hour continuous fighting force and you can have up to millions of these things with a human army of about 1% or less of to days size.

  • @seanhamson

Mirco nuclear reactor? I don't think they'd ever use that.. Too expensive, too stupid.. That would just polute the world with radiation, especially if you had armies of walking nuclear reactors being blown up.

  • @calebandstef a nuclear reactor would be most efficient and fusionwould be less polluting and more powerful than any battery. Also to make a truly effective army you need to be able to fight for days, even weeks relentlessly. Also by the time that tech can be miniterised it would require such a small amount of nuclear matter that it wouldn't cause too much damage any way.

  • @seanhamson

Yes, fusion would be more efficient then any battery, but we can't use it because there isn't any material in this universe that can withstand the heat emitted by fusion. So now you're suggesting that they think of a way to use fusion, and then make a mini version of that? I doubt that that would ever work and there are definitely many better alternatives.

  • @calebandstef true however we are not talking about these armys poping up any time soon, i mean ai tech to allow robots to spot targets and be able to independantly assess whether or not the target is either a threat or able to effectivly elimeinated is still 30 years away minimum, so perhaps the better alternative would be an ultra effiecient capacitor that could be recharged remotly by sharing electricty from a central base. (see witricity for wireless power)

  • @seanhamson

I definitely agree. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Nicola Tesla was the first to send an electrical current that could light a light bulb from a distance without using wires. If this were the case though, stealing the enemies electricity could cause numerous problems. 1. Using it to power their own androids and 2. Maybe even shutting down the enemies entire army? God knows what will be possible in 30 years. I'm excited yet afraid at the same time.

  • @seanhamson

But yes, if they shared the electricity that would be possible. But I mean who doesn't break rules in the time of war? :P

  • @calebandstef that could be a problem but that could be solved much like current communications are done through hiding the method the electricity is sent and making sure that only the recievers are able to convert the signal back into electricity because effectivly we and transfering energy and this could be done using a powerful laser with and photovoltaic type device as a reciever. like you say anything could be possible in 30 years time i mean look how far we've already come.

  • @calebandstef your other problem of using it to power their own androids is often large powerfull militarys don't face each other off in battle, for example the last time two major matching armies met was world war two, the cold war was close but never quite made it all other battles have had one far superior force, i.e. in afganistan/ iraq, korea. etc. so the force with the andriod army would normally be up against other humans so stealling power will not be a problem.

  • @seanhamson

That's true, those are some strong points.

  • thia scares the crap outtter me.

  • I wonder how soon before someone names it Arnie?

  • Does it remind anyone else of the two-legged Walkers from Starwars?

  • Great. These fucks are making things for the government to screw us. Traiters!!

  • it just reminded me of one of those ghastly creatures from silent hill.

  • "Haters gon' hate"

  • just add a faster prosessor and weaponize it and voila!

  • appleseed comes to mind

  • YAY soon imperial AT-ST walkers will become reality :)

  • NOW STRUT!

  • Anyone else think of a GONK droid when they see this?

  • Anyone notice hoe it's shaped like the walkers from Star Wars episode 6?

  • It's got the metal gear legs lol

  • its walking like it has something stuck up its hole

  • In the future, toyota robots and Petman V5.0 robots will take over the humanrace. Then they will fight eachother. The Petman robots will be victorious because Toyota robots always fall down the stairs

  • I wouldn't call that stable. He barely touched it and it almost fell off the treadmill..

  • Early AT-ST design?

  • We can build him. We have the technology.

  • Um? What purpose would these things serve?

  • It didn't look like he pushed it... it looked like he touched it and then it was revolted by his hand and moved away.

  • I used to walk normally till I took an arrow in the knee, now I walk like that

  • @coenpat I don't think this thing will remain stable when Fus Ro Dah'd

  • @coenpat lool

  • but can it run???

  • i walk like this when i'm drunk

  • Great, heel-toe walking.

Now, can it walk on it's toes like a barefoot person naturally walks?

Although any sort of walk is still very impressive.

  • Japan aims to make their robots look human.

America aims to make their robots behave/move like a human.

  • @PilotRowan Exactly.

Japanese robots make look like people but they move like dead ones.

  • is it wearing 5.10 coyotes? or some climbing shoe? haha

  • PETMAN Prototype:

"I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle"

  • if you go to their web site is says that petman will be used to test clothing.... -.- really boston dynamics really? thats all you can think of.

  • @demagoguely they're building another robot for war? Is that what you're asking?

Name one person you know that is willing to test random chemicals on their skin ?

  • @AgrivatedKillah i was thinking more in the direction of personal robotics

  • I'd tap that

  • that's scary shit

  • @Matuggertug this shit creeped me out too

  • they walk fast enough.........

  • Nice shoes....

  • Petman, before it hit puberty.

  • once they build arms on that thing... next time you push PETMAN, will be the last time :P

  • @BlueLeaf999 They have given it arms, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Check out the link in the description, it's amazing.

  • Boom-Box Stereo System w/ Legs!? Fuck that thing belongs in a Qlimax Festival! I wonder if it can JumpStyle or Shuffle? How about the Soulja Boy? Can it 2-Step? Do The MoonWalk? Danm I could do this all day.....

  • need radiation hardening, C4i capabilities, deep aquatic adaptation, etc.

  • awesome

  • These Boston Dynamics guys have a thing about pushing robots around. Don't think Skynet wont remember them when it takes over....

  • I want to put a good camera on this thing- to see the faces of the terrorists when this thing come running at them when sent in as an ROV by the army.

  • @jelt110 youare a fucking brainwashed idiot. they arent building them to hunt the pretend terrorists they are building them to round you up. moron

  • Gonk.. goooooonk...

  • Give it a black chicks ass. Then watch that jello jiggle >;3

  • So... When do we get to ride roboraptors to work?

  • one they perfect his it is just the care of adding the correct software to make it active, recognition, AI, voice, listening etc... then we can be scared... LA riots in 2025 will be broken up a different way!!

  • This is the first step. The T-800 approaches!

  • Japan's gonna be soooo jealous when we invent a Gundam before they do...

  • That BOT has SWAGGER

  • So how does BosDyn feel about the prototype of PETMAN appearing in Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

  • In ten years we will start seeing giant mobile suits and they

    will be called GUNDAMS!!

  • "we cannot stop SKYNET"

  • Yeah but could it withstand an ewok ambush?

    Didn't think so.

  • Why does this remind me of starwars.

  • See that guy in too-short cargo shorts? Thats the nerd from highschool that is making tree times your salary and a difference in the world.

  • @koolman280 "too-short cargo pants" - Stop it please. Just because you're fat and have ugly legs doesn't mean all guys should hide everything above the ankles. I'm going to wear boyfriend shorts just in your honor today, Mr. Prudeman.

  • @clint317 LOL

  • dat ass

  • Holy shit, it's a gonk droid!

  • Dr. octagonapus....

  • Were fucked

  • Thanks for getting us one step closer to the skynet robot Holocaust dickheads.

  • Well done gentleman, just make sure these things dont turn into terminators

  • METAL...GEAR?

  • they made great progress in just 2 years.they even gave it arms.

  • Skynet would be proud.

  • it better have eyes in the back of its head

  • EVERYDAY IM SHUFFLIN'!

  • We are really close to making a robot that does not look like it's running to the bathroom.

  • o.o .....it walks just like a person O .O heel first then foot ._.

  • In 40 years this will be Data.

  • Meh, doubt this will be anything worthwhi- *notices OP is BostonDynamics* OH YES, here we go :D

  • i was picturing those random walk sequences from spongebob

  • i just picture this thing humming a happy song when it's killing people.

  • @ibanezplayer772

Maybe louis armstrong's "what a wonderful world"

  • @ibanezplayer772 It doesn't kill people, it helps our government develop better suits to put You in when they send You to kill innocent human beings. It is designed to test chemical suits in real chemical scenarios.

Ask a recent Vet. (or better don't put them through that) watch "The Ground Truth"

Just another tool (nifty trinket) of oppression

    No More!

  • Yea, the ones who don't know how to walk.

  • Heel tow walking like a shod human (one with shoes) not like a human who is barefoot. bitches.

  • I wanna kick it in its robot balls

  • Human's don't walk heel to toe.

  • @IThinkWereParkedMan0 ya they do

  • @IThinkWereParkedMan0 no... but the nerds around the office do.

  • When Petman grows up to become Atlas, a full body humanoid, it is going to be able to walk heel to toe, run, roll from side to side, crawl, side step to get into tight spaces maybe even crouch. It will be able to negotiate oncoming obstacles get over or around them. Then there's Cheetah! :D

  • It's loud.

  • Get in: goo.gl\k3U6R and win Gears of War 3.

  • Gekko From Metal Gear 4 ^_^

  • @RammsteinVegar XD damn right now gotta find railguns to protech our selfs

  • ...Metal gear ....hmph...*cig drag*

  • AT-AT star wars

  • i like its trainers

  • I think the most unsettling thing about this is the fact that it's wearing shoes...

  • give it a face!

  • wayyy more dynamic than Asimo or similar.

  • how long before we have legitament "battle droids"

  • heel toe, heel toe, heel toe.....

  • He does like kinda drunk..

  • Why is "thumbs up if you think this looks like something from some movie/video game" on every robot video?

  • Some people at my university are walking more crippled than this machine... great works guys, may it serve a peaceful purpose.

  • C3PO? Is that you?

  • Haters gonna hate.

  • Oh I see, they are too lazy to take the BigDog out for walks so they make a robot to do it =D

  • funny

  • isso é um avestruz metálico com pernas humanas!rsrssrs

  • Time to strap a targeting system and a anti-personal weapon, you may have made skynet a reality.
