  • I always had trouble with the top lid crumbling. "Carve from the center out." is the best advice I've ever gotten to resolve this. I do this with other parts of projects but somehow didn't keep in mind that the grain changes as this cut is made. Foolish me, but way better looking outcome now. THANKS so much.

  • @tibbisnow Thanks for your comments! If you remeber to carve downhill and not up hill you will be carving with the grain.

  • @mastercarver1 , Thanks! I learned most of it form Jeff, just changed it a bit to suit my style. Also did you look at the video version of the Eye tutorial, it is here on youtube also.

  • Thank you for the lessons. Your eye is excellent and your teaching style using slides is fantastic. I'm carving a greenman and have struggled with the eyes. They ended up too wide open - you addressed that, wish I had seen your video earlier. Looking foward to more.
