  • Actually this song is a recording of their doctorate exams.

  • Hoo Ha ? :)

  • I love you alpinekat! Better said, I am a bunch of electrons attracted to your positive rap! You rock!<3

  • Isotope song.

  • that bald guy is professor of that lab ?

  • 100 bucks on the fact that they're all probably virgins

  • @TheBrajj horrible troll

  • @und3adsc0urg3 stop hating cus your mom is one

  • Lol, I wouldn't call her pretty. She's just plain.

  • YO SHOULD BE GIVEN A WORLD A NOBEL PRIZE ..... I LOVE YOU GUYS! FINALLY Y UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!

  • How stupid do you thank i am?

  • This is fucking excellent.

  • Dudes this is just the boss. Sorry Nerds can be cool..

    Send more down.

  • I like the guy from 0:55 to 0:59 :D

  • she is fuck ugly guys

  • Supernovae

  • First rap video since the 90's where there are actually MUSIC playing in the background!

  • Is this why the colliders keep failing? They don't have time to be rapping as a carreer. Hahahaha. Funny stufff though. Good nerdly outlet.

  • Super nice, I learned more from this than from 5 weeks of quantum physics classes:) Hmm… That's not entirely true but this is certainly a good complement;)

  • Let me point out two lines in this rap song (terrible rap song)..... "The isotopes we know are on a diagonal track, and at first glance, I thought it looked pretty whack" and "they define the isotope, and with FRIB they hope to make some that no one's ever seen before and thats dope". do you want to be black? i mean what the hell is wrong with you? Are you like super nerd or just a complete fuckin asshole. I'm gonna go with fuckin asshole.

  • 3:56 the girl at the behind xDD=)

  • 2:34 gal in green cracks me up lool

  • Anyone else think the beat sounds like a porn movie???

  • Comment removed

  • WTF married?!?!?!?!

I would hurl myself into a black hole if I could find one....

  • Physics= How to study the stars a mile beneath the earth. Totally awesome.

  • Can you replace my science teacher?! PLEASE?!

  • alpinekat vs eminem... they should have a rap battle!

  • I want a track on the Cherenkov's effect, and about the speedbreak of the photon too !!!

Another good one, very amazing and fun, we discovered physicians in a different way...

  • 0:55 FTW. I love you guys! :D

  • Yeah. Nerds for life :D

  • This is what u get when u give a scientist a camcorder. WHOLE LOT OF VIOLENCE!!!

  • THIS IS WHY RADIO CARBON DATING FAILS.

    Things decay at different rates...

  • @leonheart00 They're looking at only one specific isotope of carbon that decays at a very predictable rate. Go and muck around somewhere else. Come back when you actually understand the science.

Heck, they actually teach this stuff in high school algebra.

  • @Anon701 No /b/rother the decay rates of radioactive isotopes are NOT discussed at any length in highschool math classes. Nice trolling though, please commence barrel roll. Good Day sir.

  • @leonheart00 they are in some. I remember discussing that subject in high school math classes, and I didn't even go to a special math/science school (or even a particularly outstanding regular school). It is pretty sad that the curriculum varies so much from school to school, some people don't end up covering what others do.

  • @75noodles If this is such a simple algebraic formula you wouldn't mind explaining in detail what it is and why it would be accurate. As I see this it is a matter of chemistry and not basic algebra. I can only see the connection via theoretical means

  • @Anon701 actually, they do not.... I don't think, I was asleep every class period and still made honor roll this year and last. Yays for soon to be Junior! anyway, you seem to be incorrect, so please stop trolling before I go and get a flaming sword. {Flaming Swords: When a Troll Just Won't Stay Dead! (c)Flaming Swords of Faerun}

  • @Anon701 That might be so but how can you possibly assume that the decay rate of a particular isotope will not be interfered with by various environmental conditions? Sure in a controlled lab study it might be very predictable. Another thing is we have no way to gauge how decay rates might increase or decrease after hundreds or thousands of years. These time periods are out of the span of observation as no such science existed that long.

  • 0:55 was my favorite part XD crazy physicists.

  • That was truly fantastic! Rappin' Scientists. Gotta love it.

  • I hate rap...

    ...except AlpineKat's rap. It's *awesome*.

  • lol @ 1:58-2:00 :)

  • BRILLIANT.

  • I just love it! /mike

  • Doesnt' have the same catchy-ness that the LHC rap has.

it's just not as interesting a song musically.

  • I have met some of these guys and gals and it is amazing how intelligent they are. But even though they are gifted with out-of-this world imaginations, incredible theories and razor-sharp curiousity, they still have plenty of enthusiasm for making funny yet educational videos like this one.

  • obviously the most wicked scientists in the world! keep it up, we want more

  • Yo i teach history but I really love your videos. LHC is my favorite thoguh.

  • could use some remove-smacking-algorithm ;)

  • you guys are mad hood.

  • They will save our world :))

  • nerds ;D

  • Video looks much better, but your singing is lacking the emotion it had on the LHC rap. I'm a big fan of the LHC, but this was kind of dull.

  • Simply GENIOUS! ;-)

  • Cool concept and art, but the singing is dull.

  • I thought we had pretty good equations to explain weak force interactions

  • A neutron walks into a bar and says 'How much for a pint of beer?'

The barman says 'For you sir, no charge.'

  • Fallout 3 xD

  • Two atoms bump into each other and one says to the other - "Dude I think I lost an electron".

    --"Are you sure?"

    --"I'm positive."

  • Heard that before.

  • some can sing, some can dance, some are scientists.....:)

  • Fortunately, she has a day job as a science writer.

  • haha awesome

  • its witchcraft i tells ya!

  • like this: make sure you watch the GEIGER MULLER GROOVE!

  • sooooo...what im getting her is that the found a way to turn lead to gold?

    they re-created alchemy!

so the philophers stone isnt really so much a stone....as a giant complex of buildings...SWEET!

  • No, that's not what she's saying. It's impossible to turn Lead into Gold because in order to do so it would need to undergo transmutation(simply put, changing the nucleus of one element into another). And, transmutation can only be done with elements with an atomic number of of 83 and above, because they have somewhat more unstable nuclei and are thus radioactive. Gold has an atomic number of 79. So good luck trying to turn Lead into Gold, lol :).

  • it can actually be done....but it would need something such as the hadron collider.

it would require it to lose for protons.

Many scientists have proved this theory, and im sure you could find many a paper on it.

    :)

  • actually, the nscl routinely removes protons from elements. how do you think they make the rare isotope beams? this isn't stuff you pick up at the super market and even if it were, it decays into other elements! some isotopes decay by proton emission (ex. 69Br)...i'm sure you could find many a paper on it

  • incorrect. but turning lead into gold costs more than the return.

  • she is cute :)

  • 3:15 particle pr0nz

  • lol duh this was meant to be a joke. but good job on teachin the world a lil

  • I just realized that at 2:36, it's the MSU 4pi Miniball experiment that I worked on a few summers ago with Dr. Famiano from WMU! I stayed in the Owen dorm and hung out with those two really nerdy guys, Brent and .... whatever his name was (with the foam and duct-tape swords!). (Brent, if you're reading this, try to get a hold of me!)

    Good times...

  • Yay! More from my favourite mad scientist.

  • Lol the rapping sucks, i would like to see eminem do this..

  • our world is in good hands...

  • if you like this then check out the geiger muller groove, which was inspired by the LHC rap, and in turn inspired this new video.

  • This video was posted before the "Geiger Muller Groove" video. How could it be a ripoff?

  • She did the LHC Rap...

  • omg.....!!!!!! we physicists suck at dancingT_T... nice rap LOL:D

  • Engineers are much better.... nice project though.

  • Another awesome video. You rock! I mean rap. :)

  • That was awesome on so many levels. Great lyrics, great sounding machine.

    Keep on rapping!

  • Wow! A girl who is pretty, can rap, and knows particle physics! ♥

  • @MichaelKovarik I know i think i'm in love

  • i love it!

  • I wish i can find a girl that understands physics. Like you!

  • @joel9229 I'm sorry man, she's gotta be one of a kind, The universe could not contain that much awesome

  • @joel9229 i wish i can find a girl that let me understand physics. Like you!

    ;)

  • this is great

    heheh..,

  • If teachers do sing it, we all will learn better.

  • Awesome. Five stars and fav'd.

  • Looks like the professor co-signed this. I wish my physics professor was that cool. Dude put me to sleep.

  • has the supreme leader Ok'd this????

  • Gotta say I much preferred the LHC rap, but this was cool too.

  • Cool but a somewhat lethargic. Tempo needs to come up a bit.

  • Awesome creativity.

  • This is the reason Youtube was created.

(How do you piss off a physicist? - Just say 'nucular'. They hate that, hahhah.)

  • Weird, I am studying physics and I do not see why it should piss us of so much, maybe it is because english is not my mother tongue; does it really?? LOL

  • Well, I don't know, but it pisses me off! hahah. Actually, it's just a hillbilly term. People studying English would never hear it. (unless they listened to soundbites of the former president speak).

  • Good Job with the content. It was enjoyable in a Nerdy Kind of way..and thats OK! ;-)

  • haha wow

  • i like ur gang, u ppl are good educators ;D

  • they could like cure cancer with this!!!!!

they must be SUPER SMART!!!! unlike me im just well i don't know like anything

  • i am 12 and what is this

  • lol, this is awesome! I hope this LHC doesn't break down as well....

  • La (no) il (small) aha (small, 100% independencies), il (small) la (no) 'llah (1, and only 1, 100% Independency), because you, the 1, 100% independency create dependenices, and because you can have places you choose to not live or go, go, go... So, top, bottom, charmed, strange, flavor, color, truth, or beauty, from micro to macro down to 6 ways for 2 (+ or -), or 2 ways for 1 (inside, or outside); No room in the Ramdan In? Born in the eversion manger? Coming again? Blind tawaf, but Sarri Faces

  • Inside out can happen how many ways? Yet only d or right in the isomer play? Curb side, Street side: Einstein's Bolts side, Fermi-dirac side bonded like James. Oh, oh, Seven. 3.1415. "Six!" Ramadan's seamless whether inside or out: E resists compression cause the Ramdan's in, m resists expansion cause the Ramadn's out, Kaba-akab: Eide, tawafs and sarris, seams strong and weak close as a French braid, But Ramdan, only 100% independence can go, so infinity's in R's show. Stripe that R get a e-m fi

  • Oh yeah. Um WTF, broseph?

  • Somehow this one doesn't quite have the same charm as the first, but still fun. :)

That one guy's hate is way off base, and just reflects his own weird baggage stereotypes about hip-hop.

  • baggage AND stereotypes, I mean

  • Good job Kat!! ;)

I've learned something very interesting, thank you all!!

  • This is spectacular!!

Funniest thing I've seen in ages...

  • Awesome, I'm so glad I subscribed to your videos. Let's get some of that stimulus money and do some real science like the FRIB! It is hard to get this much info and entertainment into one video.

  • umm... rap is poetry with a beat Mr. im so hardcore mufukka bitch i cant even read...

maybe they just wanted to fuck round

  • B.O.B. here, we really don't think we "get" the urban scene. We actually think it's funny to watch ourselves pretend to be gangstaz :)

And if we can teach people about science and get them excited about it, then we've succeeded :)

  • Agreed, there's no reason to confine any kind of music to a specific scene. Music should be used to send a message, not to pidgeonhole people and situations by genre.

    -Vile Style

  • Emmm, not really. They're just goofing around. Last time I checked, goofing around was still ok.

My only problem with this is that while the first one was funny, this one just doesn't work because it's been done before.

(Also, I'm a little bitter about physics because the STFC canned my project :P)

  • This is a classic example of a 'funny once' joke.

  • Drop dead idiot

  • A cautionary example of why the world needs the arts.

  • DAMMIT WHY CAN'T I GIVE THIS 6 OUT OF 5?

    It's just great.

  • Always puts a smile on my face... good stuff

  • I like :-)

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • Spartans, represent!

  • Hi Katie, I like your Physics rap songs. I´m an absolute layman. Would you mind doing a rap on Quantum Theory?

  • That was a special kind of awesome

  • Love it, Katie.

  • Awesome. You guys should get together with MC Hawking. ;)

  • This is brilliant! LHC is still my fave, but they're all inspiring!

Now, if only alpinekat made like, an entire collection of physics rap songs, I could finally do my degree in Physics and get somewhere!

  • This is so COOL, I love it!

  • yeah!!! more!!!

  • That is just TOO cool!

  • That was flippin' cool!

  • Coming soon to a middle school science class near you.

  • Killer.

  • Nice job Kate.

  • Very nice! :D

  • she is ripping the mic

  • Awesomesauce

  • awesome

  • 3:37 is awesome....thanks for relating to medicine

  • go MSU!!! This gets me excited about science and I'm a music major...

  • My dreamgirl....

  • Have to say, i liked your other two better ;)

  • Woot!!!!! more Kat.

  • off the hook!

  • haha, brilliant!

  • bwahahahahahahaha!!! ily alpinekat!!!

  • Another awesome rap, thanks folks

  • 5 stars for alpinekat! Greetings from Austria.

  • A way to learn nuke physics

  • wow first video in a long time :) good to have you back alpinekat

  • I really like your rap! =)

  • Brilliant! 5 isotopes!
