  • Very interesting - never trimmed a cows feet! Always useful info. as could be adapted to use on other livestock.

  • high protien feed will make the hoof softer so lamnes is more of a risk. when a cow calves the composition of the hoof changer quite a lot, it just takes it out of the cow in most ways. so a high protien cake or what ever you might feed them. does mess their feet up.

  • @ShawnCFarm no high protien diet doesn't induce footrot.... that is a bacterial infection

    high protein, with high carbohydrate( sugar causes laminitis, at the time pre and pro of parturition
