Robert Greenwald is asking the same questions we all need to be asking. It's interesting that foreign policy, from Ron Paul on the "right" and the millions of us on the "left", is non-interventionist and dedicated to getting out of where we are not wanted and do not belong. Historically, war creates profits on all sides as the banks funds these misadventures. Leaders come and go but the bankers remain the same. Anti-war is not anti-military. Privately ask a general about war and peace.

That's fucking idiotic - we may see another 911 if we STAY in Afghanistan - Bin Laden basically said he hit us on 911 for meddling in the Middle East and having a presence in Saudi Arabia - and now we're killing Iraqis and Afghanis - we're going to have to protect ourselves from terrorism REGARDLESS - might as well save the money and the lives and get the troops home to their families.

@twochordcool this comment isnt about afghanistan but about what you said regarding leaving and facing no attacks vs stay and we are more likely to get attacked

if forces leave from Afghanistan you allow the enemy to regroup and focus on a new task and by having forces on there turf in there faces makes it very hard for them to plan/ execute a new attack

so if you want to avoid an attack you go on the offensive not defensive plus the money saved would be wasted politicians are bad with money

And, YES, our government CAN use that money in better ways - like on our crumbling infrastructure, and hiring some of the MILLIONS of unemployed. We'll HAVE TO find a better way. SEAL OFF our borders and check anyone and everything coming into our country with fine tooth combs.

as for sealing off the borders and checking every thing is just impractical as the US depends highly on imported goods

the idea obama "needs time to figure out" the afghanistan situation -- especially when he' sending thousands more troops -- is ridiculous. this is a war for corporate profit, and obama is simply the new manager.
