i had one of these mine was the top of the line had the 389 gto motor with every option i put nascar style exhauset on it so fuckin loud.but the bad thing is that the fuel line broke and hit the exhaust pipe and it caught on fire while i was driving .and belive me. me and my brother had to jump out while it was going . i had a shaker hood scoop on mine . when it caught fire it caught the whole car on fire up and over the windshild . i miss this monster .bought it for 500 bucks . it was prfect
The reason you do not see many 68 GP's is that for so reason it was the worst year for the GP in sales. Only 38,000 sold, then in 69 when the new body came out people went crazy and sales that year were 112,000. 69 may have been the best year for all GM brands. Pontiac had a super 69 line-up.
This was my second car I too had a floor shift. I paid $500 dollars for it in 1978. My friends called it the Battlestar, because that show had just come out back then. Yours actually looks to be in much better shape body and paint-wise, but I drove it with no major problems for two and a half years before selling it for 50 bucks. What a mistake - it was one of the best cars I ever owned! Thanks for the memories!
@Tyrandosaurus thanks for watching, these cars are pretty impressive performance wise,350 horse gto motor standard,I learned to drive in my brothers old 67 g.p,me and dad would drive around town and every once in awhile i would accident lite up the back tire oopps, lol
@tropicjester12 Yes, he did. I was the one that introduced him to the '69. That wasback in the late '70's. I was the original owner of my'69. I called her "The Blue Bastard". She was delivered with a mistake in the order. She had the 400-MX. The police engine. You take care, and I'm sorry to have bothered you. I thought you were my old Shipmate. =Stefan=
I had one from 1981 to 2001, i had the same green paint, full hard top, and it had rear fender skirts Man do I miss that car, I was a singe parent and had 2 cars and could not afford to maintain insurance on both, so I had to sell it, I still wish i had not. So are you keeping it or fixing it up for yourself ? Why was it parked for so long? Thanks for posting this video It has taken me back to some very special times with my son, I hope if you keep it you enjoy it as much as I did mine.
wow!! i drove the same car in highschool 30yrs ago, 'cept mine had bucket seats w/floor shift, did great block long burnouts, too bad it burn't to the ground. was a neat car .
Thats a nice looking GP, although I never liked the vinyl tops. Or the color green on most cars :P Im guessing if its gone so long without work, none of you guys would know where to get a nose emblem... I noticed that one looks pretty good. Mine is just bare metal, all the rubbers rotted away :(
thanks I dont care for green either but i like this color,I would try ames performance. If you go to their website you can get a free cataloge, what part of the country you from?

Why aren't cars this awesome anymore?
A. Politicians regulations posing as tree huggers when really they were on the take for the imported car companies.
Short answer? Liberals.
PS. Same car used in Goodfellas on the drive up the Taconic to bury Billy Batts

Texas, I've looked at the Ames catalogue, they don't have it unfortunately. One of the downsides to owning a one year body I suppose.
